Sharmeka Moffitt from Lousiana said three random men in white hoodies doused her with flammable liquid and torched her while she was walking.  Then they marked KKK on her car.   Despite media reports and speculation to the contrary, Ms. Moffitt was not wearing an Obama T-shirt.

Original Story LOUSIANA – Sharmeka Moffitt, 20, of New Orleans has been seriously injured by possible members of the Ku Klux Klan. Reports state that Moffitt suffered severe burns on more than half of her body and the initials KKK smeared onto the hood of her car.

Moffitt believes the crime could be race-related and officers are investigating the case as such. According to Moffitt, three men wearing white hooded sweatshirts or hats approached her on Sunday night and doused her with a flammable liquid before lighting a match and setting her on fire. She suffered burns on more than half of her body and requires surgery for treatment.

“Both of her arms, and they are third degree burns, down her chest and legs-one. Basically, her arms are real bad,” her mother, Edna Moffitt told KSLA News. (more…)

A BBC World Service opinion poll has found sharply higher overseas approval ratings for US President Barack Obama than Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

An average of 50% favoured Mr Obama, with 9% for Mr Romney, in the survey of 21,797 people in 21 countries.

Only Pakistan’s respondents said they would prefer to see Mr Romney win November’s election.  France was the most strongly pro-Obama (72%).  The survey was conducted by GlobeScan/PIPA between 3 July and 3 September.   (article)

[W]hile speaking of trade, the talk turned once again to domestic issues such as education and jobs, with Obama accusing Romney of supporting companies that shipped jobs overseas.

Romney shot back with, “I’m a son of Detroit. I was born in Detroit. My dad was head of a car company. I like American cars. And I would do nothing to hurt the US auto industry.” The candidates got into a verbal sparring match over whether Romney had called for a managed bankruptcy in Detroit or not, with Obama saying, “Let’s check the record” [he was specifically referring to this op-ed]. CBS News has been told that, hours after the attack began, an unmanned Predator drone was sent over the U.S. mission in Benghazi, and that the drone and other reconnaissance aircraft apparently observed the final hours of the protracted battle.

It detailed the president’s personal role in deciding which individuals will end up being targeted for assassination by the CIA based on Obama’s secret, unchecked decree that they are “terrorists” and deserve to die.
