(BREITBART.com) Today’s unconscionable Washington Post story, which implied without evidence that Mitt Romney was a homophobic bully to one John Lauber back in his high school days five decades ago, has totally imploded. Timed to drop the day after President Obama’s announced embrace of same-sex marriage, the story set the political world atwitter. But earlier today, Breitbart News reported that the Post had inflated witness testimony. The original Washington Post piece stated the following:
“I always enjoyed his pranks,” said Stu White, a popular friend of Romney’s who went on to a career as a public school teacher and has long been bothered by the Lauber incident. [emphasis added]
Yet in an interview with ABC News today, White disowned that characterization: (more…)
Not really a surprise considering the greatest risk to President Obama advocating for same sex marriage would be from the black constituency. However, if Mitt Romney had requested to only be interviewed by a white person, that might have made a headline or ten. (POLITICO) — For President Barack Obama’s groundbreaking interview on gay marriage, the White House turned to a friendly face — ABC’s Robin Roberts.
She’s a respected journalist who knows both Barack and Michelle Obama well, isn’t regarded as a difficult “gotcha” interrogator and whose own identity — and shared love of sports with the president — was a key factor in the decision to grant her one of the biggest gets of the president’s time in office, according to insiders at ABC and elsewhere. “The White House went with Robin because of her personal rapport, their friendship, the past interviews — but also her race [African-American], even her age,” one producer at ABC said to POLITICO of the 51-year-old Roberts. “There is a very strong, very basic connection there.” (more…)
“…When I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together; when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.”
Last week we posted the story of Dave Forster and Marjom Rostami, the two reporters who were beaten in Virginia by a group of thugs while driving home from the movie theater.
The Bill O’Reilly show has highlighted the inherent and obvious racism behind the brutality, but everyone else seems intent on avoiding the issue. More specifically O’Reilly has highlighted the lack of reporting on the attack by even the very newspaper they worked for. The question was raised why hide the story?
What was it about the story that led the Virginia-Pilot to ignore reporting on it for two weeks until the below article was posted? A group of 30 black youths surrounded the car of Forster and Rostamie the details are in the article. What if 30 white kids had surrounded a car with a young black couple and then began to beat them? Would race have played into the storyline? But there is a larger story here, a story about avoidance and given the backdrop of the recent Trayvon Martin Case some obvious contrasts in political correctness, or more appropriately “Cultural Marxism”. I’m taking issue with the Ryan budget, which either way is contrary to the social doctrine that you teach and the social doctrine my church teaches. – VP Joe Biden
Really Joe? Really? What version of Christian Catholicism do you follow exactly? ……where abortion is condoned, healthcare mandates override religion, and gay marriage is supported…… where are these “social catholic doctrines taught”? Do tell
President Obama called President-elect Francois Hollande of France to congratulate him after the results of the French election were announced today. President Obama indicated that he looks forward to working closely with Mr. Hollande and his government on a range of shared economic and security challenges.
President Obama noted that he will welcome President-elect Hollande to Camp David for the G-8 Summit [May 18th] and to Chicago for the NATO Summit later this month [20th], and proposed that they meet beforehand at the White House. President Obama and President-elect Hollande each reaffirmed the important and enduring alliance between the people of the United States and France.
Civil rights activist Al Sharpton presents the cash haul offering from a rally with Trayvon Martin’s parents at a church in Los Angeles. The rally was attended by Rick Ross, Councilman Bernard C. Parks, Big Boy, Jesse Jackson, Mary Mary, Oscar Grant’s family, Tony Cornelius, Benjamin Crump, Sybrina Fulton, Tracy Martin, Jahvaris Martin, Dawn Haynes, and Minister Omarosa O. Manigault.
Either Brandy Green is the most understanding “girlfriend” a grieving opportunist could catch. Or Green is no longer Tracy Martin’s girlfriend. Apparently Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton have ditched their prior employment as Truck Driver and Housing Counselor respectively, to undertake a Full-Time career in bereavement Exploitation.
After returning from the Los Angeles West coast leg of Trayvon’s Trail Of Tears, the devastated and grief filled, albeit fashionably dressed and exhausted, couple now finish a whirlwind Southern appreciation tour while preparing for Europe.
The Southern leg of the tour wound down in Birmingham Alabama with their dead son, 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, having been elevated to honorary citizen of Birmingham Alabama, land of the perpetually aggrieved, and the historic nucleus of all things civil and righteous:
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT)- The family of slain teen Trayvon Martin wrapped up their tour of Birmingham with a little sight-seeing. After a fellowship breakfast at their hotel, the family visited the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. The family spoke of the warm reception they’ve received all over the country, but particularly in Birmingham, the heart of the civil rights movement. “It was important for us to visit Birmingham, [because] they did honor Trayvon as an honorary citizen of the city of Birmingham. We felt a debt of gratitude,” says his father Tracy Martin.
During their visit, the family raised awareness about conflict resolution, as well as funds for the newly formed Trayvon Martin Foundation. The next stop for the family: London, because they feel this issue is not limited to the United States. Martin adds, “It’s not about black and white, it’s about right and wrong. So, we’re just trying to reach into the hearts of our nation [and] the international nations as well.” (article with video)
So, with the coffers filled, bank accounts stimulated, and Tour Manager Benjamin Crump coordinating the Trayvon Martin Memorial Foundation, the exploitation tour heads to London, England. Perhaps to Trademark Trayvon in Soho, King Street’s fashion district, or maybe a shopping trip to Harrods helps to dry the tears and fill the void. (more…)
