Cudos to CBS’s Sharyl Atkinson and whistleblower DoD Security Official Col. Woods
Remember, this is only just barely beginning to outline the FACTUAL TRUTHS. Pew is a Dem leaning polling outfit which still oversamples Democrats in order to favor Obama in their analysis. Generally Pew oversamples with D+6 to D+8 so add those figures to their reports and you get a more likely reality of Romney 50/51 – Obama 44/43.
This confirms why the Obama Superpac has pulled out of Florida and Wisconsin while focusing on Pennsylvania, Nevada, Ohio and now Michigan. Romney has virtually wiped out Obama’s lead in Michigan, watch for the negative ads to hit the airwaves there soon. Of course all of this just means the OFA organization is increasing the burn rate of their campaign contributions exponentially.
PEW – Coming out of the debate, Mitt Romney’s personal image has improved. His favorable rating has hit 50% among registered voters for the first time in Pew Research Center surveys and has risen five points since September. At the same time, Obama’s personal favorability rating has fallen from 55% to 49%. (more…)
Drip…. Drip…. Drip….. The Truth comes forth. Turning that spigot to brutally honest mode is the job of Congress now. Jason Chaffetz went to Libya over the weekend to gather information prior to the Congressional hearings scheduled for Wed, this week.
(Daily Beast) Just two days before the 9/11 anniversary attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, two leaders of the Libyan militias responsible for keeping order in the city threatened to withdraw their men.
The brinksmanship is detailed in a cable approved by Ambassador Chris Stevens and sent on the day he died in the attack, the worst assault on a U.S. diplomatic mission since the 1979 hostage crisis in Iran. The dispatch, which was marked “sensitive” but not “classified,” contained a number of other updates on the chaotic situation on the ground in post-Gaddafi Libya. […] (more…)
The Middle East – Let’s cut to the chase so that a broader understanding is possible.
Look at a map of the Middle East:
The first understanding is to know the “Modern West” was accepting of mass migration from N-Africa through Tunisia and Libya into Cyprus, Italy and on to Europe for decades. This migration was/is the beginning of their substantive multi-cultural issues they are now facing socially and economically.
Long story short…. Eventually Europe wanted the spigot turned off because the “undesirables” were not assimilating correctly and they could not afford the resulting problems. The ruling fascists in Libya (Gaddafi) and Tunisia (Zine El Abidine Ben Ali) now held “leverage” over Europe. Quackdaffy and Ben Ali became the gatekeepers. (more…)
WASHINGTON – With just about a month until Election Day, Vice President Joe Biden is in the middle of taking nearly a week off the campaign trail. He will return to doing campaign events on Thursday, when he will debate Rep. Paul Ryan in the vice presidential debate.

On Friday, October 5, according to the White House, Biden spent the day working. In the morning, he was scheduled to attend the presidential daily briefing in the Oval Office, with President Obama. That afternoon Biden was to “meet with senior advisors,” according to the White House. […] (more…)
Via GWP – Mary Matalin takes Krugman down a peg…
When I hear the name Paul Krugman now I can’t help but think about him speaking to the Think Progress Occupier “crowd” at NetRootsNation 🙂 :

The first debate is over, the post-debate spins are quieting down, and the campaigns are working diligently to set up the narratives for the next round.
After hundreds of millions of dollars spent on negative attack ads by the Obama Team, it appears the debate performance by Mitt Romney was enough to deconstruct months of the false narratives. I think this segment from Charles Krauthammer encapsulates the Romney gain effectively.
In my opinion President Obama failed miserably because he was unprepared. Not actually unprepared in the sense of debate policy prep per se’, but more along the lines of unprepared to face the consequences for his own policy failures being called out on him. (more…)

(Blaze) United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice has denied she tried to mislead Congress about the assault on the U.S. Consulate in Libya in calling it a “spontaneous” protest, saying she was acting on the best information she had.
In a letter to Republican senators released Friday, Rice said she “consistently qualified, in some instances twice, the information I provided as preliminary” when she went on television and said the attack on the consulate was the result of an anti-Muslim film. U.S. officials subsequently labeled the Sept. 11 assault that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans an act of terrorism linked to Al-Qaeda-affiliated groups. (more…)
