(CNSNews.com) – The White House is declining to say when President Barack Obama first  learned of three e-mails that the State Department sent to the White  House on Sept. 11, 2012, directly notifying the Executive Office of the  President that the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi was under attack, that  U.S. Amb. Chris Stevens was at the Benghazi mission at the time of the  attack, and that the group Ansar al-Sharia had taken credit for the  attack.

The White House also declined to say when the president first met with the National Security Council after the Benghazi attack.

“I have been asked by one of our spokespeople to relay ‘that we  decline to comment,’” said White House National Security Staff aide  Debbie Bird in a written response to CNSNews.com.

Not only did they lie – They Watched Them Die

(Reuters) – Officials at the White House and State Department were advised two hours after attackers assaulted the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that an Islamic militant group had claimed credit for the attack, official emails show.

The emails, obtained by Reuters from government sources not connected with U.S. spy agencies or the State Department and who requested anonymity, specifically mention that the Libyan group called Ansar al-Sharia had asserted responsibility for the attacks.

The brief emails also show how U.S. diplomats described the attack, even as it was still under way, to Washington. (more…)

A BBC World Service opinion poll has found sharply higher overseas approval ratings for US President Barack Obama than Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

An average of 50% favoured Mr Obama, with 9% for Mr Romney, in the survey of 21,797 people in 21 countries.

Only Pakistan’s respondents said they would prefer to see Mr Romney win November’s election.  France was the most strongly pro-Obama (72%).  The survey was conducted by GlobeScan/PIPA between 3 July and 3 September.   (article)

Hire security guards amid the most hostile terroristic area in Libya and they don’t have guns or know how to shoot……  yeah, “not optimal”.

BENGHAZI – One of the members of the “Special Protection Unit” guarding the Benghazi consulate states that the unit had never been given shooting lessons.

A 33-year-old individual referred to only has “Ali” was part of the February 17 Brigade’s four-man team guarding the Benghazi consulate on Sept 11. He says he and his team members had received “light” and “theoretical” training inside the consulate from time to time, but never experience shooting firearms. (more…)

[W]hile speaking of trade, the talk turned once again to domestic issues such as education and jobs, with Obama accusing Romney of supporting companies that shipped jobs overseas.

Romney shot back with, “I’m a son of Detroit. I was born in Detroit. My dad was head of a car company. I like American cars. And I would do nothing to hurt the US auto industry.” The candidates got into a verbal sparring match over whether Romney had called for a managed bankruptcy in Detroit or not, with Obama saying, “Let’s check the record” [he was specifically referring to this op-ed]. Tonight is the third and final Presidential Debate.   Tonights debate takes place in Boca Raton Florida and Focuses on Foreign Policy issues.   The debate will be carried live on most major networks.   C-SPAN does a great job of coverage without the noise of punditry.
