A Florida judge today ordered George Zimmerman, who is charged with fatally shooting Trayvon Martin, free on $1 million bond, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Zimmerman would be required to put up 10% to be freed. It was not immediately clear how long it would take for him to leave jail.
Update at 11:41 a.m. ET:  The Sentinel notes that Zimmerman’s lawyer, Mark O’Mara, has said that his client’s legal defense fund has a balance of $211,000, which would more than meet the 10% required to put up a $1 million bond.

Mark O’Mara had noted in the second bond hearing he felt that the prosecution’s case was weak, and that Zimmerman had a strong claim to self-defense, and to keep him jailed until his trial would be unreasonable.
The original bail amount of $150,000 was viewed by many in the law enforcement community of Florida to be excessive, in light of what bond amounts are set for similar crimes.  The extremely high bar set for the second bail signals two things: (a) it is punishment for misrepresentation to the court about his finances and ability to fund a bail bond (which is improper, IMV) and (b) it demolishes the State’s claim that their case is strong, and Zimmerman will be found guilty.  It is up to the State to disprove Zimmerman’s self-defense claims “beyond a reasonable doubt”, and the Judge apparently no longer feels the State’s case is “strong” as he originally stated in his decision to revoke bond on June 1st.
As a result of the generosity of people concerned with due process, Zimmerman does have immediate access to enough cash in his defense fund to quickly arrange a new bond, and be released as soon as it is safe and prudent for him to do so.

Rep. Charlie Rangel has managed to secure the Democratic nomination in a primary challenge held this evening in NY.  However, Rangel’s multiple challengers point to an ever increasingly fractured Democratic party which can no longer count on a cohesive voting block.

A second ex-Bronx borough president, Adolfo Carrion, just walked through the door in time for some bad news. The room fell quiet as Charlie Rangel took the stage to declare victory. Adriano Espaillat is still missing in action.
“The time for change was clearly now. Maybe this was low voter turnout,” Carrion said. “But if a challenger like Espaillat can pull 30-40% against Charlie Rangel, that speaks volumes.””

**Update 11:05 pm – With 50% of precincts reporting, Charlie Rangel surges ahead of his main opponent Andriano Espaillet.
Polls closed at 9 pm tonight.  Democratic Rep Charlie Rangel is facing four challengers in the 13th district Democratic primary.  Rep Rangel has represented the area since 1970.  If Rangel is successful in securing the Democratic nomination, it will be his 22nd run for re-election.
Redistricting this year has meant significant changes to Rangel’s previously safe district, adding in a large Latino/Hispanic voting population, diluting the African-American vote in the new district.
Current early precinct returns show Rangel securing only 30% of the votes.

JOPPATOWNE, Md. (WJZ/BALTIMORE SUN/AP) — A Morgan State University student who lived in the same home as a missing Joppatowne man now feared dead was charged with first-degree murder after parts of a human body were found inside the house and in a nearby dumpster. Now the suspect has admitted to eating portions of the man’s body parts, including his heart and brain.
Alexander Kinyua, 21, is being held on no bail.

One of the least appreciated, Communist–driven, post-colonial ideologues is the French born black activist, Frantz Fanon.

I recommend that you do not dismiss the concepts that he puts forth.  Perhaps, you are seeing them play out in real time in the present day.  Fanon makes some substantial points that need to be explored fully, digested, and understood.  The consequences of his hypothesis and advanced ideology are possibly in various stages of play all around you.

Many Americans trust in the concept of  the “Fourth Estate” as one of the foundational pillars of our Constitutional Republic – that a “free and fair” press is a key element to the “checks and balances” of the system.
Therefore, the majority of Americans believe what they read in the printed Corporate Media or on the Corporate Legacy networks as well-researched, vetted “truth”.  Nothing could be further from the truth.
The tether to any sense of journalistic “ethics” was severed long ago as part of the ‘long march through the Institutions”.   Reporting is no longer researched, nor “vetted”.  It is part of an ongoing propaganda/manipulation campaign to frame broad acceptance of socialist ideals and the destruction of the foundations of the Republic.
