UPDATE:  Feb 13th:  Police issue a statement this morning affirmatively confirming that “charred remains”  were recovered from the smoking cinders of the cabin in the mountains at Angelus Oaks, CA.  The remains will be positively ID’d through DNA analysis and dental records matching, states the San Bernandino Sheriff’s Dept, which has jurisdiction in this incident.

The British media are reported on purported recordings of the police scanner in which the police discuss burning the cabin deliberately as a planned strategy to force Dorner to leave and/or perish in the cabin.

Police say they have no idea on Dorner status.   They “hope” his body is inside the cabin (video)

CRISPY CRITTER FOUND?   Update 10:05 pm ET:   Body removed from cabin believed to be Dorner’s,  ABC News reports. 

11:06 pm ET:  LAPD spokesperson states at a live press conference that the recovery of a body, if any, has not been confirmed and/or ID’d.  States cabin is still to hot to search properly.  Affirms jurisdiction is with the San Bernandino Sheriff’s office, not LAPD.  LAPD still on tactical alert.  Any remains recovered could take “weeks” to positively ID with DNA or dental records analysis.

LA Times reports on Dorner’s purported last moments:

A single gunshot was heard as authorities moved into the cabin where Christopher Dorner was believed to be holed up.

According to a law enforcement source, police had broken down windows, pumped in tear gas and blasted a loud speaker urging Dorner to surrender. When they got no response, police deployed a vehicle to rip down the walls of the cabin “one by one, like peeling an onion,” a law enforcement official said.

By the time they got to the last wall, authorities heard a single gunshot, the source said. Then flames began to spread through the structure, and gunshots, probably set off by the fire, were heard…

[Updated at 8:07 p.m. ET] More details on the authorities’ recent assault on the cabin, which is on fire: It’s not clear whether the suspect is still in the cabin, but the area is surrounded by law enforcement personnel, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said. Today marks the 900th Anniversary of the founding of the Knights of Malta.

Even if you are secular, you can not help but be impressed by the selflessness and the dedication to duty and purpose higher than self embodied in the precepts of the  Knights of Malta (KOM).

The mission, and membership of the KOM represents good in the world, at time when the forces of malice seem poised to triumph.

Stateless but sovereign, the KOM transcends regional boundaries in their quest to alleviate suffering.

Wherever they settled, the Knights Hospitallers always established first a Hospital and Hospice and then, if they needed to, built defence fortifications. What does being a Hospitaller mean in the Third Millennium? It means dedicating oneself to easing suffering and to bringing the balm of Christian charity to the sick, anywhere in the world, not only in hospitals but also in private homes and nursing homes in the shantytowns of destitute populations. The Order does not only dedicate itself to the sick, but also to the socially isolated, the victims of persecution and the refugees of any race and religious faith

Did you chat with others about the election while in line to vote?  If so, what did they say? Today is the Day.

Today is the Day that YOU – each of you – have the opportunity to secure Victory and to restore America’s greatness.

Do not go to bed tonight wondering if you could have done “more”.

Vote – and vote for Victory.         🙂

I write this not as a partisan, but as one American who has been engaged in extensive political research for five solid years. The picture in our current banner is reflective of my feeling right now: Hands outstretched toward the heavens asking “why”? Not why did Mitt Romney lose, but why cannot our citizenry see what they just did?

By now most of you know my approach at understanding events, and their surrounding outcomes. Events that create both intended, and unintended consequences.

That approach is research; pure research to understand the specifics of the circumstances and understand the mindset behind the people within the events being portrayed.

The “why” is more valuable than the “what”.

So I hope you will digest this analysis with the understanding this is not a series of guesses, projections, or predictions. This is merely assembling the puzzle bits – organizing them, placing them into their logical pattern of connectivity – then standing back and looking at what is factually evident within the assembly.
