Quoting Ben Franklin….“They that give up essential liberty to obtain temporary safety deserve neither.”

You gotta love it!  Last week, Sleep Train packed up their mattresses and flounced off the Rush Limbaugh Show in full faux outrage over the Sarah Fluke comments. Today they  came crawling back to Limbaugh begging him to take them back as an advertiser.  To our delight… Rush has told the groveling mattress retailer to stuff it. 

(TheBlaze)…Rush Limbaugh has rejected an advertiser’s apparent attempt to reunite with his show after the company initially dropped its ads from the program following his remarks about contraception advocate Sandra Fluke.  The company, Sleep Train, calls itself “the No. 1 Bedding Specialist on the West Coast, and most recognized mattress retailer in the region.”
In an email to Sleep Train President Dale Carlsen (obtained by The Blaze), a representative of the show says that Limbaugh personally considered the company’s request, but denied it considering its public comments following the controversy.   (more…)

Texas Independence Day

When I was a mere lad, Texas Independence Day was celebrated in schools with patriotic songs, readings of the Declaration by schoolkids and grave lectures on our role as Texans by our teachers. Even the Mexican kids participated, because anyone who’d read the  hallowed rolls of the Alamo and Goliad dead knew that there were plenty of martyrs with Spanish surnames. We also knew of Lorenzo de Zavala and Juan Seguin, both Texian heroes of the Revolution.

It was understood by the youngest of us that Texas went from being just the mostly empty northern part of the Mexican state of Cohuila-Texas to the independent Republic of Texas with the signing of this document. Like the beloved United States, from whence the spirit -and some would say impetus – of revolution had come, we won our right to be free through the force of arms, wielded by brave and bold men. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, the despot which our Texas Forefathers overthrew was ever bit as evil and prone to predations as Britain’s George III. His one saving grace, that he invented that most American of oral fixations, chewing gum, was more than off-set by his cruelty and duplicitous nature. The self-proclaimed Napoleon of the North, he boasted an army well-officered and well-equipped that had spent the past couple of years putting down rebellions in Mexico. It wasn’t just the Texians who longed for the return to a government who respected the liberal Constitution of 1824.  (more…)

(Mediate) – (h/t PatriotDreamer)…On his program Thursday, Fox News’ Sean Hannity spoke with Steve Bannon (producer of The Undefeated, among various other films) about a series of tapes Andrew Breitbart claimed to have about Barack Obama. Breitbart mentioned the tapes during his recent CPAC speech, sharing that “[w]e are going to vet [Barack Obama] from his college days to show you why racial division and class warfare are central to what hope and change was sold in 2008.”  (more…)

This stuff has been swirling about the innertubes all afternoon…might as well get it out in the sunlight.  People have been speculating all day as to foul play in Andrew Breitbart’s death due to the fact that he had in his possession incriminating videos from Obama’s college years…videos Obama did not want released.   Watch below where he tells the CPAC audience that he will release the videos during the upcoming presidential campaign to expose the president’s radical roots.

(WashTimes)…(h/t Redpill)…PHOENIX — Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said Thursday he suspects the birth certificate President Obama released last year is a forgery — and he also raised questions about the authenticity of the president’s Selective Service card.  “Based on all of the evidence presented and investigated, I cannot in good faith report to you that these documents are authentic,” Sheriff Arpaio said. “My investigators believe that the long-form birth certificate was manufactured electronically and that it did not originate in paper format as claimed by the White House.”  (more…)

SarahPAC is out with a new video fighting back against “Game Change”, an upcoming HBO movie about the 2008 Republican presidential campaign.  Watch and be reminded of why the left is so abso-freakin’-lutely terrified of this woman.  

Okay…..the implications for this are utterly frightening.  Last fall, TSA teams, redesigned as VIPR (Department of Homeland Security Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response) teams, began conducting searches and screenings at train stations, subways, ferry terminals and every other mass transit location around the country.   Imagine teams of federal employees with zero law enforcement training randomly roaming our nation’s highways….looking for whom and what?

Yesterday, a group of conservative leaders organized by Brent Bozell sent a letter to Arianna Huffington, publisher of The Huffington Post, demanding an apology for the following column they published entitled “The Jesus-Eating Cult of Rick Santorum.”   As disgusting as this article is, it should be read…if only to remind ourselves of the festering intolerance and bigotry that dwells in the hearts of the liberal media.

It’s time to take a good hard look at Rick Santorum’s faith.

Many of you will be shocked to learn what our possible future president believes, who he answers to, the bloody jihads his so-called church has carried on for centuries, and its current role as the tactical arm of the North American Man-Boy Love Association.

As a former member of same sect (an Irish-Catholic, the worst kind), I have read the texts, participated in the rites, and even seen behind the curtain, as it were, as a one-time altar boy, so help me. I managed to escape, but then, Santorum is in much deeper than I ever was.
