Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

WHEN PEACE, LIKE A RIVER
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
— Romans 5: 1-11
Spurgeon’s devotional for this morning.
“Just, and the justifier of him which believeth.”
—Romans 3:26
Being justified by faith, we have peace with God. Conscience accuses no longer. Judgment now decides for the sinner instead of against him. Memory looks back upon past sins, with deep sorrow for the sin, but yet with no dread of any penalty to come; for Christ has paid the debt of his people to the last jot and tittle, and received the divine receipt; and unless God can be so unjust as to demand double payment for one debt, no soul for whom Jesus died as a substitute can ever be cast into hell. It seems to be one of the very principles of our enlightened nature to believe that God is just; we feel that it must be so, and this gives us our terror at first; but is it not marvellous that this very same belief that God is just, becomes afterwards the pillar of our confidence and peace! If God be just, I, a sinner, alone and without a substitute, must be punished; but Jesus stands in my stead and is punished for me; and now, if God be just, I, a sinner, standing in Christ, can never be punished. God must change his nature before one soul, for whom Jesus was a substitute, can ever by any possibility suffer the lash of the law. Therefore, Jesus having taken the place of the believer—having rendered a full equivalent to divine wrath for all that his people ought to have suffered as the result of sin, the believer can shout with glorious triumph, “Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect?” Not God, for he hath justified; not Christ, for he hath died, “yea rather hath risen again.” My hope lives not because I am not a sinner, but because I am a sinner for whom Christ died; my trust is not that I am holy, but that being unholy, he is my righteousness. My faith rests not upon what I am, or shall be, or feel, or know, but in what Christ is, in what he has done, and in what he is now doing for me. On the lion of justice the fair maid of hope rides like a queen.

Hey, Old Dog. I say you are a “New Dog” in Christ.
This is truth. Jesus Christ the Messiah IS our peace, Is our hope, Is our salvation.
Leave It All In My Hands
, Let Jesus Have Control Leave your worries at His feet tonight. Jesus is in control, and you are completely safe in His hands. “When the day comes to a close, remember you don’t have to carry tomorrow burdens tonight, or ever again. Jesus promised He will never leave nor forsake us—even through the deepest valleys, shadows have no power. Rest easy knowing God is watching over you.”
The Movie That Captured Light That No Longer Exists
Wolfcrow explores the innovative cinematography and technical engineering behind Stanley Kubrick’s 1975 film, Barry Lyndon. The analysis details how custom-built camera technology and period-accurate lighting methods were utilized to authentically recreate the candlelit ambiance of the 18th century without the use of modern electricity.
Kubric was a genius and Barry Lyndon perhaps his most beautiful film… check out the duel scene.
Jesus Is Lord… But Is He Yours? Have you ever felt like you were carrying the weight of the world on your own shoulders? It’s easy to get caught up trying to fix everything in our own strength, but we were never meant to carry these burdens alone. “Jesus is Lord” isn’t just a phrase we sing on Sunday—it’s an invitation to hand over the wheel, trade our anxiety for His unshakeable peace, and step into true freedom. This upbeat country shuffle is a reminder of the hope and strength we have when we let Him lead our lives

Free Indeed Without Him, I am nothing. But through Jesus,
I am set free—and who the Son sets free is free indeed! Before the universe was even spoken into existence, God already had a plan to cover us with His love, grace, and mercy. Even when we are completely undeserving, He chose to send His Son to bear our pain, cleanse us by His blood, and set us free forever. He didn’t stop there—He gave us the Holy Spirit to be our Helper, guiding our steps and teaching us how to pray when we don’t have the words. Every breath we take is a gift to sing songs of love back to Him. He is so worthy of all our praise!

Here’s a shot of some GOOD blues by Joe Bonamassa.
He’s covering the Howling Wolf classic “How Many More Years”.
The way they did the intro to this with a clip of Howling Wolf coming first is just cool.
For those who don’t know…….Joe was performing with the great B.B. King at the tender age of 8.
He was OPENING for B.B. on tour when he was 12!
Hope y’all have as much fun with this as I do!

In the old days, cotton and polyester were the base components of our finished textile products. Prices were set by negotiation between a manufacturer and us(buyer). It was a company to company negotiation. We used the Wall Street costs of both cotton fiber and oil as an indicator of future pricing. Those WS prices might have been manipulated but the underlying forces were market driven. How are you going to short something when there are record crop yields or surpluses? How can you force polyester prices higher when new oil fields come on line? My point is that trading keeps everyone honest and keeps end supply chain prices where they should be. Of course governments can interfere, they always do.
But as earlier analysis pointed out, the market seeks stability. The Strait of Hormuz is blocked or restricted and the market immediately develops work around. Just like with anything else, if Big Traders make the market then it is not a free market. Just exactly like Free Trade has not been allowed. The US has been a sucker. The solution is the government insists on Fair Trade and the government insists that WS is not a manipulated market.
The easiest solution is too break up the entities that are large enough to control markets and industries. And reduce the size of the Federal Government. If under 10 companies can sit in a room and fix prices, those companies need to be broken apart. Ma Bell birthed the baby bells and an innovation revolution was created.
Terry Anderson, I don’t know a thing about markets or trading but we no longer have the secure and dependable phone lines Ma Bell provided.
Back in the good old days your phone worked even in the middle of a hurricane when the power went out.
No more. Lose power or internet and you lose your ‘land line’ which really no longer exists.
In my opinion a huge mistake for public safety.
Cell phones are great but I think we should have kept ‘real’ land lines.
I was an outward toll, marine, and mobile operator for Southern Bell.
Hi Truli. DSL is still available in my town. Doesn’t that operate over the old copper phone lines?
Cable and fiber are just starting to make significant inroads here. (Port Charlotte, FL)
I wonder if we could get a real land line phone in the areas where DSL is available.
I do not know, Charles.
I’ll look into it.
Thanks.
I was a the younger brother. My brother and a couple of his friends found a ground hornets nest, put a hose in it, asked me to stand with my foot on the hose so it wouldn’t come out of the hole (I was barely 4) and turned the water on. I was stung multiple, multiple, multiple times before I made it in the house. My mother severely punished my brother for that one.
The good, news, I was best man at his wedding and we are best friends today.
Ah the days when you used a cord long enough to strangle a family just so that you could move around in a room while talking, or hand the phone to someone else in the room without making them come to the phone.
But keeping it untangled was a royal pain.

Luke 9:18-22
☘️
Once when Jesus was praying in solitude, and the disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” They said in reply, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, ‘One of the ancient prophets has arisen.’” Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter said in reply, “The Christ of God.” He rebuked them and directed them not to tell this to anyone.
He said, “The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised.”

DAILY MEDITATION: LUKE 9:18-22
☘️
Who do you say that I am? (Luke 9:20)
One day, a homeowner noticed a crack in the foundation of his house. An inspection identified the problem: the house was slowly sinking! What could be done to fix it? In the end, contractors recommended inserting long steel beams under the basement floor to connect it to the bedrock. That way, the foundation could support the house.
When Jesus asked the apostles, “Who do you say that I am?” he was encouraging them to build their lives on the bedrock, the stable foundation, of who he is (Luke 9:20). Peter replied that Jesus was “the Christ of God” (9:20), the long-awaited Messiah who would save his people. That sounds like the right footing, doesn’t it?
So why would Jesus rebuke Peter and instruct his disciples not to tell anyone? Because he knew that he was going to suffer, be rejected, and killed. He knew his disciples were going to need an unshakable foundation to endure these events, and he wanted to give them time to develop it. In other words, Peter’s good beginning needed to go deeper.
Over time, as Peter and the others matured in their faith, they understood more clearly who Jesus is and exactly what kind of Messiah and Savior he would become. Those “steel beams” of their faith needed to extend deeper into the earth to shore up their “house” and connect it more firmly to the bedrock.
How is your foundation? There’s so much more that Jesus can teach you as you spend time in his presence and ponder his word. He wants you to develop a firm, stable foundation so that you can trust him even when you face the most difficult suffering. He wants you to have utmost confidence that God’s hand is on your life. And he wants you to experience lasting peace even when everything around you seems unsure.
Today, let Jesus ask you, “Who do you say that I am?” Take the time to sit in his presence, maybe with your Bible, and let him help you answer that question. As your knowledge of Jesus deepens, your foundation will be connected ever deeper, right down to the bedrock!
“Jesus, you are my firm foundation. Help me root myself deeply in you.”

Having learned a lot more about the historical King David the person, about his life before and after becoming the anointed King it makes the reading of the psalms so much more “personal” in as much as the reader now identifies (becomes in a way) part of what David experienced. Then it struck me – how could it be that this brave lad, elevated from obscurity into the palace, on first name terms with the King (Saul) – warrior of note, himself crowned King of ALL of Israel (which believe me at the time was no small matter) (they were basically at war with each other), head of the Jewish legal court consisting of 70 elders, who were all in their own right highly influential scholars – how could this man feel so isolated, so “under siege” so alone, that his writings speak more of a person swaying between certainty/joy and sadness/doubt. I’m not suggesting for a minute that his belief in the Creator was not rock solid, but I believe he wrestled with the disappointment that God had not fully “returned”, because the world was still full of pain.
The psalms end with successive praise verses abounding in joy, yet we know that his last days were hardly a party. He was continuously cold, given a “nanny” (where was his court??) and his story ends without much fanfare as in “ Then David rested with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David”. No mention of nation wide mourning, a holiday, a fast, just bye. I danno it just seems a little wrong to me, but I do understand why Judaism does not make a fuss of man, no matter how great he/she is – but, of course he is remembered and studied as one of the greats along with the Moses and the patriarchs.
As to why had God not returned at that time, we can only conclude that it wasn’t yet the time – God was/is still writing His book. Which in a sense goes to the issue of Wretchers 3’rd post about letting go. Not easy at all, except maybe for the most righteous. For the rest of us this what true faith is – trusting that within those pages our lives are also written.
I think he would have enjoyed this during those last days – perhaps he still can.

EACH DAY WE TAKE UP THE OFFENSIVE WEAPON OF THE WORD OF GOD – THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT – ONE VERSE OPENS THE DOOR TO THE CONTEXT OF THE CHAPTER MESSAGE
Verse of the Day for Friday, September 25, 2026
✟
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
COMMENTARY FOR EPHESIANS 6
The duties of children and parents. (1-4) Of servants and masters. (5-9) All Christians are to put on spiritual armour against the enemies of their souls. (10-18) The apostle desires their prayers, and ends with his apostolic blessing. (19-24)
1-4 The great duty of children is, to obey their parents. That obedience includes inward reverence, as well as outward acts, and in every age prosperity has attended those distinguished for obedience to parents. The duty of parents. Be not impatient; use no unreasonable severities. Deal prudently and wisely with children; convince their judgements and work upon their reason. Bring them up well; under proper and compassionate correction; and in the knowledge of the duty God requires. Often is this duty neglected, even among professors of the gospel. Many set their children against religion; but this does not excuse the children’s disobedience, though it may be awfully occasion it. God alone can change the heart, yet he gives his blessing to the good lessons and examples of parents, and answers their prayers. But those, whose chief anxiety is that their children should be rich and accomplished, whatever becomes of their souls, must not look for the blessing of God.
5-9 The duty of servants is summed up in one word, obedience. The servants of old were generally slaves. The apostles were to teach servants and masters their duties, in doing which evils would be lessened, till slavery should be rooted out by the influence of Christianity. Servants are to reverence those over them. They are to be sincere; not pretending obedience when they mean to disobey, but serving faithfully. And they must serve their masters not only when their master’s eye is upon them; but must be strict in the discharge of their duty, when he is absent and out of the way. Steady regard to the Lord Jesus Christ will make men faithful and sincere in every station, not grudgingly or by constraint, but from a principle of love to the masters and their concerns. This makes service easy to them, pleasing to their masters, and acceptable to the Lord Christ. God will reward even the meanest drudgery done from a sense of duty, and with a view to glorify him. Here is the duty of masters. Act after the same manner. Be just to servants, as you expect they should be to you; show the like good-will and concern for them, and be careful herein to approve yourselves to God. Be not tyrannical and overbearing. You have a Master to obey, and you and they are but fellow-servants in respect to Christ Jesus. If masters and servants would consider their duties to God, and the account they must shortly give to him, they would be more mindful of their duty to each other, and thus families would be more orderly and happy.
10-18 Spiritual strength and courage are needed for our spiritual warfare and suffering. Those who would prove themselves to have true grace, must aim at all grace; and put on the whole armour of God, which he prepares and bestows. The Christian armour is made to be worn; and there is no putting off our armour till we have done our warfare, and finished our course. The combat is not against human enemies, nor against our own corrupt nature only; we have to do with an enemy who has a thousand ways of beguiling unstable souls. The devils assault us in the things that belong to our souls, and labour to deface the heavenly image in our hearts. We must resolve by God’s grace, not to yield to Satan. Resist him, and he will flee. If we give way, he will get ground. If we distrust either our cause, or our Leader, or our armour, we give him advantage. The different parts of the armour of heavy-armed soldiers, who had to sustain the fiercest assaults of the enemy, are here described. There is none for the back; nothing to defend those who turn back in the Christian warfare. Truth, or sincerity, is the girdle. This girds on all the other pieces of our armour, and is first mentioned. There can be no religion without sincerity. The righteousness of Christ, imputed to us, is a breastplate against the arrows of Divine wrath. The righteousness of Christ implanted in us, fortifies the heart against the attacks of Satan. Resolution must be as greaves, or armour to our legs; and to stand their ground or to march forward in rugged paths, the feet must be shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Motives to obedience, amidst trials, must be drawn from a clear knowledge of the gospel. Faith is all in all in an hour of temptation. Faith, as relying on unseen objects, receiving Christ and the benefits of redemption, and so deriving grace from him, is like a shield, a defence every way. The devil is the wicked one. Violent temptations, by which the soul is set on fire of hell, are darts Satan shoots at us. Also, hard thoughts of God, and as to ourselves. Faith applying the word of God and the grace of Christ, quenches the darts of temptation. Salvation must be our helmet. A good hope of salvation, a Scriptural expectation of victory, will purify the soul, and keep it from being defiled by Satan. To the Christian armed for defense in battle, the apostle recommends only one weapon of attack; but it is enough, the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. It subdues and mortifies evil desires and blasphemous thoughts as they rise within; and answers unbelief and error as they assault from without. A single text, well understood, and rightly applied, at once destroys a temptation or an objection, and subdues the most formidable adversary. Prayer must fasten all the other parts of our Christian armour. There are other duties of religion, and of our stations in the world, but we must keep up times of prayer. Though set and solemn prayer may not be seasonable when other duties are to be done, yet short pious prayers darted out, always are so. We must use holy thoughts in our ordinary course. A vain heart will be vain in prayer. We must pray with all kinds of prayer, public, private, and secret; social and solitary; solemn and sudden: with all the parts of prayer; confession of sin, petition for mercy, and thanksgiving for favours received. And we must do it by the grace of God the Holy Spirit, in dependence on, and according to, his teaching. We must preserve in particular requests, notwithstanding discouragements. We must pray, not for ourselves only, but for all saints. Our enemies are mighty, and we are without strength, but our Redeemer is almighty, and in the power of his mighty we may overcome. Wherefore we must stir up ourselves. Have not we, when God has called, often neglected to answer? Let us think upon these things, and continue our prayers with patience.
19-24 The gospel was a mystery till made known by Divine revelation; and it is the work of Christ’s ministers to declare it. The best and most eminent ministers need the prayers of believers. Those particularly should be prayed for, who are exposed to great hardships and perils in their work. Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith. By peace, understand all manner of peace; peace with God, peace of conscience, peace among themselves. And the grace of the Spirit, producing faith and love, and every grace. These he desires for those in whom they were already begun. And all grace and blessings come to the saints from God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Grace, that is, the favour of God; and all good, spiritual and temporal, which is from it, is and shall be with all those who thus love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity, and with them only.
Commentary by Matthew Henry, 1710.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
Amen!

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

RISE UP PRAYER WARRIORS
In the morning when you arise
Thank God for the lovely sunrise
Thank God you have the eyes to see
Thank God through Him you are set free
So many are suffering in various ways
From family problems to general malaise
From discouragement to deep depression
Hearts, minds, and souls suffer repression
Each day God asks you to boldly come
To the Throne of Grace and beat the drum
Sing Praise to our God – Sing Praise
To our Deliverer – Our voices we raise
God told us to pray unceasingly
Give Glory Honor and Praise to He
Bring our petitions and lift them up
So that all may drink from the Blessing Cup
When you are troubled the Body suffers
Take it to God and pray for others
When we reach out and pray for one another
We bless father mother sister and brother
Our own concerns become less of a bother
When we reach out and touch another
So Rise Up Prayer Warriors and shout
Defeat the enemy roundabout
Send him back to the dry places of doom
Back off and prevent his message of gloom
Declare your victory over all that prevails
Defeat his plan and all it entails
Our nation has been attacked mercilessly
Over a long span of time most relentlessly
It is time to defeat that father of lies
It is time for Prayer Warriors to rise
‘Go To The Quiet’ if it need be
To replenish and refresh on bended knee
You must be courageous and strong
To fight this battle all the day long
Rise Up Prayer Warriors and come to their aid
For many who are lacking let hope be staid
For those who are allegedly down and out
Sing Praise – Declare Victory – and Shout
Decked in your Armor fight the good fight
Send our enemy and his minions to flight
Give it your all and you will soon see
And taste the blessings of Victory!!!

Ecclesiastes 3:1-11
☘️
There is an
appointed time for everything,
and a time for every thing under the heavens.
A time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to uproot the plant.
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to tear down, and a time to build.
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather them;
a time to embrace, and a time to be far from
embraces.
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away.
A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to be silent, and a time to speak.
A time to love, and a time to hate;
a time of war, and a time of peace.
What advantage has the worker from his toil? I have considered the task that God has appointed for the sons of men to be busied about. He has made everything appropriate to its time, and has put the timeless into their hearts, without man’s ever discovering, from beginning to end, the work which God has done.

Is anyone familiar with this minister: Rev Dr Larry Pickens? He’s from Chicago and is head of the Pennsylvania Council of Churches. A friend of mine from near Allentown was telling me some about him. Sounds like a bit of a WOKE person acting as minister in a pretty conservative community. I see he’s also on the UN’s Permanent Forum for People of African Descent (a forum I did not know existed).
