The 25th anniversary of the attacks on 9-11 present a day to reflect, remember and pay tribute to those we lost. I am sure most of us remember exactly where we were at the moment when we found out our nation was under attack. Our nation was forever changed by those moments on September 11th, 2001.
Perhaps we can share our memories together as we think about the anniversary of this date.

Living in Seattle. Woke up to a message on my phone.
It was a friend of mine saying “Turn on your TV”.
Turned on the TV and immediately saw the carnage in NYC.
I had so many friends and family living in Manhattan. Started calling them right away and of course all the phone lines were jammed. Eleven people and I couldn’t reach one of them. And nobody I knew could, either.
Finally gave up and stepped outside my door to walk down the main street in the U Wash. neighborhood. Walked by a phone booth (yes, there were still phone booths at that time), and a girl in her 20’s was all excited , gleefully shouting to her friend on the phone “They did it!! They did it!! They finally blew up the WTC!!!”
Several days later, I finally started getting ahold of people in NYC. Thankfully, they were all OK but, boy, did they have some stories to tell. And people (myself included) were worrying about the toxic smoke smell all over the city.
When I got ahold of my favorite elderly person, living by herself on the Upper West Side around 70th Street, her reaction to “How are You?” was – in typical NY fashion- “Oh, I’m just fine. WTC is sooooo far away from where I am”. LOL. Gotta love her.
The way NY’ers acted towards each other was so uplifting and bled out to the rest of the country. I remember thinking the terrorists were idiots to blow up NY. All it did was increase love of others across the country.
If they’d really wanted to wreak havoc, they would’ve blow up something along the West Coast. Could’ve torn the country apart with that one.
Can remember when both towers of the WTC came down, one hour after planes hit the buildings near the top floors. Eyes popped out of sockets. Jaw hit the floor.
Can remember seeing pictures of the open field in Shanksvile, PA and no plane visable anywhere.
Can remember the short, jumpy, blurry video of what they called a plane hitting the Pentagon. And later seeing the buiding with a round hole in it. No plane in the hole. No skid marks on the lawn.
Can remember seeing building number 7 in NYC coming down without a plane hitting it.
Can remember hearing Trump on a radio call saying there must have been explosives involved. Said the WTC was built very strong. Impossible planes could do such damage.
