The 25th anniversary of the attacks on 9-11 present a day to reflect, remember and pay tribute to those we lost. I am sure most of us remember exactly where we were at the moment when we found out our nation was under attack. Our nation was forever changed by those moments on September 11th, 2001.

Perhaps we can share our memories together as we think about the anniversary of this date.
Where were you on that day? And what memories are most vivid for you?

Yes, we do remember.
And there remain many significant questions.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Back then and for many years afterwards, I dismissed the conspiracy theories on 9/11 out of hand. But after the 2020 election – which was rather blatantly stolen from the voters in a “bipartisan” coup – like many other people I began to re-think and re-evaluate the 9/11 attack and various other events of my lifetime (I was born in 1956).
To me, the 9/11 attacks now look to me like a false flag operation of the Deep State, the motive of which was to restore the U.S. to a state of permanent war after the collapse of the Soviet Union. I recalled the brief (and now largely forgotten) kerfuffle in 2005 when members of the Able Danger Intelligence group claimed that Mohammad Atta and three other members of al-Qaeda had been identified by Able Danger, a temporary intel operation that used data-mining and open-source data to map out the al-Qaeda network and identify potential targets and vulnerabilities.
Congressional committees claimed they could not find corroborating evidence that pre-9/11 evidence existed that was suppressed or ignored, and the 9/11 Commission dismissed and “debunked” that allegation.
Now, I wonder about it…
Airline stock puts days before; Silverstein claiming “we had to pull it”, having recently purchased a $1 Billion insurance on the structures; rumors of a rewiring on the buildings months before the attack; etc. Too many things that need answers, some of them have been, many others not. Pentagon hit definitely not an airplane! Where are the videos from that gas station nearby?

At least the “AutoPen” has dementia as an excuse. But his handlers don’t.
Somalia, same/same.
I had just woke up after working a swing shift with a couple hours of overtime and turned on CNBC to check the markets before heading in to work again. I just stood there stunned watching what had happened while I slept that morning.
Call a good friend who was a pilot for United. “We are at war” was his response. He would know since he flew in the Korean War for the Navy.
Nothing was the same after that day.
I too had just worked my night swing shift and also remember waking up and the news talking about an air plane ‘accidentally’ hitting the first tower, when the second plane hit the second tower everyone knew it was an attack on America.
>> ‘accidentally’ hitting the first tower
‘accidentally’? really?
Just another rush to judgement by the Corporate media. Just reporting the facts is soooo hard.
My wife’s neighbor across the street since childhood.
“And I will carry this… It is the police shield of a man named George Howard, who died at the World Trade Center trying to save others. It was given to me by his mom, Arlene, as a proud memorial to her son. This is my reminder of lives that ended, and a task that does not end”
Good Morning America, Remember!#
Driving south on 95 outside Philadelphia. KYW incorrectly reported first hit on the towers as a small plane strike as an accident. Then another report was aired moments later. These were no accidents.
I was at work planning the production schedule for the 4th quarter of 2011 at a coal mine in Central Illinois. I had been to NYC quite a few times visiting my wife’s family in The Bronx and had been in the towers previously. Needless to say, I could not concentrate on my task while I watched coverage on my computer. All the unknowns and the horror of the moment, even though half a country away, swept through my mind. One vivid memory was seeing the sign at the gas station where I usually “gassed up” had a new price on its sign which was unheard of during that time. When I got home and saw that my family and home were OK, I took a moment to pray for those involved in the horror in NYC happening in real time. NEVER FORGET!
I was working at a nuclear powerhouse down in Florida City. Just making my morning call to my wife on the way to break. She told me a plane had just hit the WTC, but no one had any details yet. In the break room, nobody knew anything yet either. On my way back into the access point of the radiation area, the plant personnel had all the big monitors on the live cable news station. We all learned then this was not an accident, but a deliberate act, and both towers were hit. We were instructed to report back to our break room for further instructions on what we had to do. Since we were in a pre-outage mode, we were sent home until further notice. The weirdest thing we experienced was the lack of the usual commercial air traffic above us. The only jets were from the nearby air force base. Like all Americans, we were glued to the TV for days after arriving home.
Since we live on a flight path to Epply Air Field and also Offutt AFB, we really noticed the empty skies. One of my son’s friends was out on his balcony, and a big jetliner flew low overhead. “My gosh!” he thought. “That’s Air Force One.” It was, of course, taking President Bush to Offutt and The Hole.
In some of us this day is burned into our memories to the very second it happened.
Just like TWA flight 800 I have never believed the official story because to many lies and deception surrounds it.
Like many Americans, I was at work on 9-11. Many of us were outside enjoying a beautiful morning break. Then there was breaking news coming on the radio. We all went back inside.
Work came to a complete stop. All of the company big screens were tuned to the live news feed & all 300 of us were watching in stunned silence.
We saw it all. The plane hitting 1 tower & then the 2nd – over & over again, the fires, the billowing smoke, the people jumping from the upper floors, LE & firefighters running into the buildings & those outside running for their lives when the towers fell.
After a company meeting where the CEO spoke about what we all just witnessed, we all went home. Life would never be the same again.
I fly a 9-11 banner under my American flag. “NEVER FORGET 9-11-2001.” I don’t give a thought to who may be offended by that banner.
I was getting ready for work and listening to the radio.
A news report broke saying a plane had hit one of the towers of the World Trade Center. I thought it odd, but also knew that other planes had run into skyscrapers before.
Then I heard the plane that had hit the tower was not a little prop-job, but a large commercial jet liner, and suddenly the situation felt much more dire.
I went into another room and turned on the T.V. to see live footage of the building on fire.
As I watched I saw the same ghastly sight thousands of others around the world saw in real-time as the second plane flew into the second tower. It was surreal. It was unbelieveable. It was no mistake. We were at war. The United States of America had been attacked on its own soil and that attack was being shown live on t.v.
I gasped. I cried. I called my husband and we both watched something we could not comprehend.
I didn’t call into work to tell them I was going to be late. I don’t think I even went to work that day. I just stood and watched everything that took place that day.
One tragedy after another, one horrific tragedy after another was playing out.
One tower was hit.
A second tower was hit.
Something was going on at the Pentagon.
Planes missing. How many?
All air traffic being stopped, and the skies became eerily quiet.
A plane crashed somewhere in Pennsylvania.
Was the White House targeted?
The first building collapsed.
The second building collapsed.
People were running and screaming and bleeding and dying.
The day was full of anguish and sorrow and questions about who our enemy was.
Lots and lots of questions over many years about who our enemy is.
I was awaked by my clock radio at the usual time, they were reporting on the first plane at that time.
Moved to the couch to watch it on the TV, watched the 2nd hit live, was then glued to the TV for the day.
Friends wife, all her brothers are in some branch of the EMS/Fireman system, 2 of them went to help the next day.
To my knowledge neither ever spoke of the aftermath, I know 1 is deceased perhaps both now. RIP
Funny thing for my eldest brother, he had just filmed as guest on Jerry Springer show (midgets, midgets, midgets), he could not leave due to flight cancellations. Springer show extended his/wife’s stay at a 3+star hotel…. then refused to pay him his appearance fee due to cost of hotel.
It was all fake stories mind you, his entire neighborhood had been or was going to appear.
I had taken a morning flite to Providence from BWI, I was at the auction buying and the auction just stopped as the news came in. Cell towers were jammed up there so calls were almost impossible. My poor mom finally got thru and was hysterical, she knew I flew on Tuesdays. I had bought a couple cars and most of the auctioneers were from the same area… we found gas, paid cash and caravaned (sp) with a detour around NYC headed south. No traffic, places closed, cash only, no contrails in the sky.
I was installing new deck boards on my front porch while on vacation. My late wife was working at the Salvation Army store. I heard it in the radio so I took a break and went in to turn on the tv. I watched in horror as the second plane hit. I ran out of the house when I heard a jet pass over the house from the Portland Jetport. Even though I’ve been involved in military operations decades ago it was still scary. America has never been attacked at home before. Pearl Harbor was the closest thing.
Indeed. I said to my 23 year old son that day, “Now you’ve seen Pearl Harbor.”
I was in Turner Constructions office in Cincinnati. I had pulled up the live feeds for the towers and when they collapsed the engineers that were in my office watching all said the same thing, ” No Way”.
Yep – remember back to 1987 Indianapolis when the military jet hit the Ramada Hotel by the airport? That building didn’t collapse despite the plane hitting the lobby area.
https://weeklyview.net/2013/10/31/the-ghosts-of-the-indianapolis-ramada-inn-disaster/
There was another one recently in Beijing at the CITIC tower. Did that skyscraper fall down? No.
Of course we remember. But I also. remember the 1993 WTC Bombing with 3 dead and about a thousand injured. I was in a hotel in North Carolona screaming, ” if they got in they’ll never stop.” Our government decided that Islam was” a religion of peace.”
I remember audibly gasping when George Bush said,”Islam is a religion of peace” in that let’s roll speech.
And that is a lie. Fostered to deceive.
Islam is a religion of submission.
If you don’t choose submission to Islam there will be no peace.
Their world is divided into Dar al Harb and Dar es Salaam.
They turned my place of work into a bomb.
Former F/A
Radio was on as usual in the kitchen. Husband on a trip in CA ( he was a pilot). Heard that tunnels were being closed. Got a call from my sister in Germany who asked what was going on and told me to put on TV…. The rest is history never to be forgotten. That day for me was probably the same type of day when my parents and grandparents heard about WWII.
We have been at war since.
On 911 I was at work, it was a beautiful peaceful day. Someone came in and mentioned something was happening in NY City. We were near a conference room and it had a TV. A few of us went there and were stunned beyond belief to see a plane had hit one of the World Trade Towers. We were glued to the screen but I went out and called my wife at her work. She also managed to turn on a TV with a few coworkers. I returned to the conference room and later saw the second tower hit by another plane. The world I knew changed in an instant! This was not an accident, this was deliberate. It was an inhuman act of unbelievable violence and the people I was with knew we were attacked. Then came the plane crashing into the Pentagon and the Pennsylvania plane. At that point we were united. At that point we were at war. My son spent 20 years in the military fighting this evil in Iraq and Afghanistan, even watching Bin Laden for months but not allowed to engage.
Now we’re supposed to be supportive of Muslim politicians lije Talib, Mandami, El-Sayed. We have a new generation of voters who never understood what really happened so never forgetting means little to them.
I have copied my post from the Presidential thread earlier.
Last night I watched around supertime the news, both local and national. They all had coverage about the tragedy of 911. They poignantly described the losses, the victims, the suffering then and now. All had interviews with those personally affected and all had anchors emotionally describing events. Not a damn one of them
mentioned MUSLIMS. Not one. Today is my birthday, yes 911. I will mention MUSLIMS.
George Bush spends 9/11 event bragging that he went out of his way to be nice to Muslims
https://notthebee.com/article/george-bush-spends-911-event-bragging-that-his-admin-went-out-of-the-way-to-be-nice-to-muslims
Here we are, 25 years after 9/11, and we have two of the most important politicians in the aftermath of the attacks making sure to let us know that in no way were they meanies and racists after 9/11.
Condi: … Trying to make sure our Muslim citizens knew we didn’t blame them for what had happened.
Bush: I also made it clear that Islam was a religion of peace and not a religion of war and that these people subverted their religion.
“Islam is peace… it has brought peace to the world” – George Bush, 6 days after 9/11
They were still digging bodies
25 years and multiple wars later and he still knows nothing about Islamic theology, history, or how “salaam” differs from “shalom.” Amazing.

What terrifies me is if ISIS were to detonate a nuclear device and kill 50 million Americans. Imagine the backlash against peaceful Muslims?
The complete refusal to recognize one’s failures is the hallmark of a good politician, isn’t it?
My kiwi cuz is of the opinion they are mostly peaceful people. It was not worth the argument, so I let him continue with those peaceful thoughts.
Whatever comes from his mouth, nothing can hide that GWB is haunted by the thousands of lives he snuffed out & otherwise destroyed.
It started here & it continues to spread like a cancer to every corner of Western civilization.
I’m an infidel. An unapologetic Christian. I see GWB & Islam for what they are, evil incarnate. Stay alert & pray today my fellow treepers, evil celebrates its anniversaries.
W is getting dumber with age. He’s still wants to be the hero of the story: the great defender of minority rights and promoter of “freedom.” Bigger lies have never been told. So aggravating and insulting to all the lives lost and destroyed.
Life long Republican here. I voted for Daddy Bush twice and Georgie W twice. Knowing what I know now, I would never have voted for either one of them. Four wasted votes that I will never get back.
Understand, but the alternative … was not there. Leadership feckless and fece; so many times had to vote for what believed was the better of two bad choices. Now, geez, the choices are ranked and opposing viewpoints get ya killed. There is a cancer in the body politic, perhaps there is no truth in its realm, just shadows of grey, misery and so damned many lies. It’s hard not to be angry at the world some days. I was always a bit appalled at the urgency of W admin to apologize and bow to those or all Islamists. And very angry when the sense of reprisal became mission creep and nation building. Ugh,
“The complete refusal to recognize one’s failures is the hallmark of a good politician, isn’t it?”
It’s worked for Thune, so far.
I was still in the dark, Knew it could be crooked yet, had no idea our own government could be so evil. Eyes wide open ever since.
I was home sick and got to watch it as it happened. Scary.
My wife at the time and I had been married about four months.
I was preparing for a job and received a call from our client that the project would be rescheduled.
I turned on the TV and saw smoke emanating from the WTC. Then saw the second impact.
Knew immediately our nation was under attack.
Have not believed one word of the MSM since.
Watching some memorial tributes, and hearing the ridiculous broadcasters inane blathering, and the terrible absence of sense from some ATC management, and airline interactions ;especially hearing the call from Betty Ong, AAflt11. What Stupid, repetitive questions, the supervisory/ managers pronounced. Her very first sentences held succinct and informative data; and like a game of telephone, each translation swallowed the narrative with disbelief and precious time lost. And just who was the bi*tch female at one AF base who said, “cool!”, when she was told of perceived hijack situ, ni games. Big breath taking.
“Never forget. Except Building 7, you should forget that.” -Larry Silverstein
I was at work in a building that morning, preparing for a meeting. A coworker told me that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center in New York, so several of us went into a meeting room with a television we sometimes used in meetings to play training videos. We turned on the news and watched the burning tower – my first surmise at that time was that there had probably been some sort freak accident.
Then we saw the second plane hit the other tower on live TV, and in shock we realized the plane were being deliberately crashed into the WTC.
Los Angeles. Emergency responder for electric power generation industry.
Talking with one of my clients and trying to bring him calm; Ernst & Young who was notified that there were also credible threats against the World Trade Center of the West coast – which happened to be my territory.
I told my customer – we couldn’t predict what would happen – but should something happen; we would be there to help in whatever way possible.
That’s been my life’s mantra. Help in whatever way possible.
Reading the stories of our martyrs from that day – makes my heart sad and my eyes weep – but it emboldens the COURAGE that fires in my soul to be the keeper and steward of my fellow man, child, and beast.
This is our country – and I love it. We stand firm, ready to fight – whatever comes our way.
I remember the look on George W. Bush’s face as he was reading to the elementary children.
That look as he is whispered to… burns in my mind.
And so many questions still remain.
What were the envelopes for at the funeral of H.W.?
How does W disappear into a life of painting and avoidance of the public eye?
Why does it feel like he is not on our American side?
He acts dead – yet he is very much alive – the only ex-President in my lifetime to completely hide from the public. How’s your conscience, George?
Yes, the envelopes at the funeral. So much never explained.
H.W. once stated he didn’t recall where he was when JFK was assassinated. I’ve never heard anyone over 10 years old at the time saying that. I was 10 years old at that time and I’ll never forget that day.
It was a beautiful cloudless day in MI. My wife called me at work, crying, asking me to come home. She was pregnant with our first child. 12 days later she went into labor, 7 weeks premature. Our son was 4lb 9oz, in NICU for 3 weeks. She is still very emotional in remembering Sept 11 attacks and following days.
Good bless us all.
We were in London, 2 days from flying home. We went into Harrods to look for a few souvenirs when one of the security guards told us we needed to go up to see what had happened in NY. We gotta the floor with the televisions just in time to see the second tower fall.. In all my years I’ve never been so overwhelmed by my feelings as I was that day, and even writing now, 25 years later, those feelings return. Being out of the country, not knowing when we’d be able to return, contemplating the death and destruction.. Truly a dark day.
This is forever etched in my mind from September 11, 2001
Voices calling out from under the altar – “When, Lord, when?”
Yes! This should be shown every day on television! This depicts the absolute, unfathomable horror those people endured. Do I burn to death or jump to my death. Now, we have a muslim, anti-American mayor in NYC. If good, God-fearing Americans do not step up, we will be as doomed as those poor souls you have so rightly shown today.
Ditto.
Absolutely horrific day. I was at home. My husband called and told me to turn on the TV. Within an hour or so of watching what was unfolding, I went and got my children from school and daycare. The feeling of not knowing what may happen where I live was unsettling, to say the least. Seeing people falling from those buildings will be forever etched in my mind.
My Dad was alive and went with me daily to my office, we’d stop at the same little store for juice & coffee, while I was in line, the first plane hit with a half dozen other folks stood there with my apple juice and coffee and watched. Dashed out of the store down the street and turned on the TV in my office I had about a dozen employees who stood in my office and watched as the 2nd plane was confirmed.
Eventually I just sent everyone home. With the horror of that day set the backdrop for much of what we’ve endured these 25 years.
Congressman Curt Weldon’s thoughts shortly after 9-11,

I was in Egypt at a Brightstar training mission and I was the comms night time NCO in charge. I was asleep as it was 4 in the afternoon. I got a call that said turn your TV on to channel whatever. I saw plane two slam into tower two. The training mission turned into a real world logistics mission. We locked all road travel down and I took over security at the Intercon hotel as I was the senior NCO at the hotel. My officer was just this side of useless.
The riot in the Egyptian square was just outside my hotel room as my upper porch overlooked the square. If the TV cameras tuned off the riot stopped, we laughed at them. My 3 week setup training mission turned into just over 3 months of logistic support where I ran the communications at night.
Thank you for all you did.
I was one week into a new job when I went into the break area and they had the TV on showing the attack on the World Trade Center. My manager was stuck in Seattle unable to fly home. I was concerned about my job that I had just started, whether it would still be there in a week.
I did a lot of field service back then.
I was coming through the offices gathering up the day’s work orders (Yes, we still did that with paper) when three Clintonistas called me over. They were huddled around a tiny tv.
They knew I kept up with world events and asked what I thought. I said (sarcastically) “Well it can’t be Iran or any of those people.. It must be defective fuel tank wiring.” (Only one of them “got” my reference)
G. Gordon Liddy grabbed a mic that morning and was broadcasting from somewhere over an affiliate station in Joplin. (We were dependent on AM radio. ) Everyone I met with that day knew the world had changed. Some churches opened their doors for anyone that wanted to come and pray. There was a run on gas, so some folks rushed to fill all their tanks.
“Well it can’t be Iran or any of those people.. It must be defective fuel tank wiring.” (Only one of them “got” my reference)
I got it.
Did they check the bearings in the muffler? LOL/ sarc – sad, because it’s so true.
Just like JFK assassination, I remember exactly where i was standing when I heard. There are still many unanswered questions. Still no truth and no one has been arrested for the crimes.
I remember where I was, too. In my college Student Union…
Just like the JFK assassination, a lot of people benefited from the aftermath.
No one who benefits from evil wishes evil to be investigated.
That is why the cover ups are so effective in both cases.
My wife and I were sitting in the tv room of my boyhood home in Southern Wisconsin, drinking coffee and watching the news. My Father was selling his house that day to move into a senior living facility. The first tower had already been hit when we turned on the news and the talking heads were reporting that a small plane had hit the towers, perhaps a commuter plane, blah blah, blah. I was flying for a major airline, the weather was perfect and the hole in the building was BIG so I knew their reporting made no sense. Then suddenly we watched as the second tower was hit and exploded into flames. I immediately understood the United States was under attack and that our lives would be drastically changed forever…I just didn’t realize how much. God bless all those who have died as a result of the attacks on our beloved nation and the families who miss them.
I was driving to the bank when I tuned into the news. I turned around and drove home to alert my husband who had just gotten up. Then I called into the Air Force personnel center and told them I was ready to return to active duty if necessary. (I had retired in 1995.) Our daughter was in college in another state—she was safe but of course couldn’t return home. So many thoughts; so many prayers.
How time flies! Proving our voters have short memories look at what they elected as mayor of NYC. Also proving how effective academia and the media are at brainwashing.
I was assisting at the Registrar of Voters’ office for a small local primary election. Had arrived at 5:30, and at about 9:30 there was a huge uproar throughout the Town Hall.
My boss ran upstairs to watch a small tv in one of the offices, and then he informed us. NYC was 50 miles away.
NYC has betrayed the people of the USA to whore with foreigners, banksters, and globalists.
they persecuted Trump to flee to Florida and installed a musloid as their leader. The city is lost and should be expelled from the USA.
We must not give up territory to the evil that murdered our fellow citizens.
We take it back.
I wonder if we will ever know what really happened that day. Images of the plane hitting does not look like a commercial airline plane.
There was at least one survivor from the side of Tower One where it was hit. He absolutely watched in horrified fascinstiin as that plane approached. He doesn’t dispute that it was a commercial airliner.
IMO, 9/11 was the second-greatest False Flag operation ever perpetrated on the United States. COVID was the greatest False Flag operation ever perpetrated on mankind.
COVID. An attack disguised as a natural occurrence. Then redisguised as a lab accident.
We have never used it like a false flag to falsely blame.
Yet we have totally hidden the joint collusion of the US and the CCP in conducting the attack.
The Japanese wars of the 1930s were also mutinies.
Committed by the Army without the knowledge of the official Government. They get presented as mutiny within the ranks but they were always supported by military logistics from the homeland.
Only one was a successful war. Manchuria, 1932. They never had the army needed to conquer China, 1937-1945, And the ones in 1938 and 1939 going after Soviet Mongolia ended in dismal loss and found Stalin the successful general he would later need to defeat the NAZIs.
Will we ever find out how much of our government was involved in the COVID coup? Pretty much all of it was involved in the Big Steal. And most of it was involved in the earlier fraudulent Special Counsel and following impeachment. Smoothly transitioning from false allegations to fraudulent Special Counsel to Ukraine phone call impeachment to COVID mutiny to George Floyd riots to stealing the election. All aimed at the voters who elected Trump.
>> COVID was the greatest False Flag operation ever perpetrated on mankind
So far.
I was in my office working for a securities firm in the PPG building in downtown Pittsburgh.PA. I was watching the events as they unfolded on the news. Having spent two weeks in a training program in the early eighties on the upper floors of the south tower, I did not like that building as it made me nervous every day being so high up. On a windy day you could feel the building move slightly. I was overcome with emotion thinking about those souls trying to escape, went outside, sat on the steps leading into the building and wept. Then an order was given to evacuate the city as the plane that crashed in Shanksville flew close by. Such a strange eerie feeling as an entire city emptied out. I will never forget nor will I ever subscribe to Islam being a religion of peace. Just one old man’s opinion….
I was at my engineering workstation when our admin gal Judy came an informed us of the plane hits. She knew we were veterans and informed us first. We went and watched on the cathode ray TVs what was happening and our blood boiled and were not surprised it happened really(USS Cole, etc.).
Now, after the Scamdemic and chicanery of 2020 I have a completely different view of what happened on 9/11. Bldg 7.
Nobody speaks enough about Building 7. We are just supposed to “accept what we are told”. No.
Perhaps… one wonders …
There were overhead photos of the Building 7 area after the 9/11 attacks. Circular holes were in the roofs, 20-30 feet wide. There are suggestions that those were from scalar energy weapons. Entirely plausible.
…was on my way out of work RPSLMC (in downtown Chicago, sort of in the shadows of the city’s two landmark towers), stopped in a patient’s room to wish them a nice day…and the first replays were on the TV news.
A brief chat and then I hightailed it out of the hospital, and parking garage…I was adjacent to Midway Airport/Cicero exit, when the second building was hit, was on the Stevenson Expressway, traffic jammed out of the city, news broadcasting about buses and trains on ‘reverse’ schedules, people told to ‘stay home’…where I surmised that Mayor Daily was evacuating the city of Chicago, it was never called an ‘evacuation’ or anything like that, not at that point…by the time I got home, that was confirmed…allegedly one of the landmark towers in Chicago (Sears or Hancock) were alleged to be identified as a target…had beenmulling a zig zag thru the ‘burbs or staying on the expressway. Opted for the expressway.
Got home, called my parents in FL, who had no idea of what had happened…they had some cable TV show on…non news.
By the time I got home, 9am or so CT…no air traffic over my house…(am in a flight pattern for Midway Airport, Joliet, not Kankakee).
Eerily, we had the same clear skies, bright blue clear skies over Chicagoland.
Back then I watched the news. It was on in the morning as I was getting ready to leave for work. My wife and I were discussing the first plane having hit the tower and we were watching as the second plane hit. We knew then that it was terrorism. I had a difficult time on the way to work that day feeling that the entire world had changed. The subsequent reports of another hit on the Pentagon, then yet another plane crashing. Then the months of near silence in the sky without civilian air traffic (it was never total silence as we live near an air force base). Life changing moments that you never ever forget. And questions that have never yet been answered. Questions that started my wife and myself on a course of truth seeking that eventually led here.
Retired Magistrate here: I was in my office at the Court House working on a Decision in a Domestic Relations Case and I had my radio on listening to music when an announcement came on saying that a plane had crashed into one of the twin towers and then a few minutes later another plane into the other twin tower and then I knew we were under attack.
Told my Judge and we discussed what to do since we both had full dockets. We decided to go ahead and deal with all the attorneys and clients waiting outside the court room to get their cases heard so they could proceed with their lives. It was a very subdued court room that day and for the next week we rescheduled a lot of our cases to give everyone time to process what had happened and to grieve.
It seems like it just happened yesterday but I understand that we have a whole generation that was not born when this happened and really doesn’t understand the gravity of what happened that day and how everything changed. This is probably how our parents or grandparents felt after Pearl Harbor.
I was on the Top of the World; Barrow Alaska working at the hospital and loving every minute.
We watched the news in awe; my flights as a nurse were not affected, but Our first commercial flight out they confiscated my nursing scissors and my husband’s pocket knife – a childhood relic. We were stunned. At one airport there were signs NO Laughing……..
Our surprise was when massive migration from Muslim countries was welcomed with open arms after Our way of life changed on 9/11. Airports became absolutely crazy. SS office was like getting into Fort Knox. We were treated like criminals.
God Help US
RIP all those that lost their lives to terrorism. The records are ‘sealed’ but I hope justice will be yours, so you didn’t die in vain. AND so the perps can’t continue to ‘celebrate’ your deaths. They Laugh and Cheer……..
An Alaskan Delegation was in NYC that day for a conference; no one injured. Of all days, waiting for news was nail biting.
It was our oldest child’s first day of our parish school. My son and I were home watching Bob the Builder when my husband called from work and told me. I changed the channel in time to see the second plane hit. I knew then it was deliberate and so my son and I ran over to pick up his sister. I remember knocking on the door of the Pre-k and telling the teacher I wanted my daughter. They officially closed the school about twenty minutes later.
I called my husband and begged him to come home. He told me he wouldn’t because then the terrorist would win. He was working in what at that time was the tallest building in Philadelphia, One Liberty. I kept picturing how the terrorists would love the optics of blowing up his building. Eventually, they shut down the building, and my husband was forced to leave. He came home and hung the flag.
I was volunteering at the library in my children’s Jewish Day School in GA. I was alone. There was a screen there ready for a class, and for some reason a TV station was on it. I guess because the first plane. I was watching thinking, must be an accident, then the second plane hit. A short while later, I along with several teachers were in the supply closet watching the TV in there as the buildings collapsed and we heard about the Pentagon. I couldn’t imagine who would have attacked us, then all the Israeli teachers said in unison……ARABS.
I am from Brooklyn. I worked in Manhattan in the late 70’s-88. My husbands friend Joey Grillo died. He
was helping organize people to the stariwell.
We need God’s blessings. Tonight begins the Jewish New Year. A new energy will be brought into the world. I hope we
can use it for good.
Love you all and love to you Sundance
I was sitting in my cubicle at work processing medical claim as usual when one of my co workers named Linda came walking down the aisle saying something is happening in New York. There was another women who had 2 sons working there, she was a nervous wreck. Turned out they were fine.
Another dam engineer and I showed up at the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority office at a little before 8:00 a.m., central time.
The front office was open but empty. We heard a TV in the conference room. The announcer said a small airplane had hit one of the World Trade Center Towers.
We watched the news feed as the second airliner hit Tower 2. My mind initially thought I was seeing a rerun of the “small plane” hitting Tower 1.
Yet the plane was not small and smoke could be seen billowing from Tower 1.
The announcer realized the enormity of the situation and at just that moment our GBRA contact showed up and loaded us into his truck and we inspected the first of four dams. When we got back in the truck, we turned on the AM radio and heard about the Pentagon. Then after the second dam inspection we heard about Flight 93.
Later in the day we heard about the first tower collapse and then the second.
It was like a horrific twilight zone episode.
My son called in a panic. I told him to stay home. I guess we were the only people I knew that were working that day. We found out later that all the rest of the GBRA staff just stood around the TV, all day. Our engineering firm did the same.
