I am so grateful you posted this. Yes, it hurts to watch (even though I lost no one in that tragedy). No doubt many of us remember exactly where we were, or what we were doing, when we heard the news. Just like on November 22, 1963. Maybe why this still hurts is because Americans rallied to protect her own, but now? Look at New York City now! That’s a travesty.

i read the essay, i was not compelled, and then i hopped on here. it can be both. 😉
i never know what to think about the “psy-op” claim. obviously it happens – no one is saying otherwise. but whats far more likely is that people are using EXISTING events and opinions that absolutely happened, to manipulate and form public opinion that gives them license to do something they desire.

I get his point, which is still not a perfect comparison, but WHY must President Trump keep doing this? He is regularly shooting himself in the foot, which doesn’t affect deeply loyal conservatives (including myself), but is damaging his standing and those of other Republicans with the moderates, the so called independents, and cross over voters who supported him in 2024. In earlier months I recall the same idea – payments of several thousand dollars to Americans – termed as a “rebate” on taxes and for any higher prices arising from tariffs.
Those two ideas need to be returned to the proposal and emphasized.
A permanent reduction on income taxes – or the complete abolition of the 16th Amendment! – a balanced budget, and more firing of bureaucrats would be better.
With $20 trillion of foreign investment coming into this country in the next few years, along with the tariffs on those countries and companies that are not willing to negotiate, just think of all the added revenue coming into the Treasury’s coffers from those tariffs and increased income taxes on those new corporate investments, as well as the income taxes from all the increased employment. Why would we want to allow the Congress to take all that increased revenue and just spend it on more social programs? It’s about time we gave a “dividend” to the taxpayers instead.
But the naysayers and the fake media crowd just wants to ignore the reality and just bash President Trump for proposing another “common sense” initiative.
