Church attendance in the major “Christian countries” is around 10 % – a little more or a little less, depending – and has been that way for decades.
When I was visiting Germany regularly for 25 years until 2006, I saw first0hand the emptiness in both Lutheran and Catholic churches.
A German priest of my acquaintance once visited my Toledo, Ohio Catholic school in the 1990’s, which was next door to a large parish.
He was almost in tears: “Families with children, teenagers, young people everywhere!”
You see, the usual congregation in Germany would be age 60 + and not many of them would be seen!

The term “Islamic scholar” . . . now what possible ability does a person who ACCEPTS Islam as a rational and positive and humane approach that can co-exist with people who do not subscribe to it be deemed a “scholar”? This is what I think could be called an “oxymoron” where you have two completely opposite notions, “Islamic” and “scholar” and I am supposed to accept that.
I don’t.
We have been watching the youtube videos again of what happened twenty-five years ago on September 11th and it does not go away, that absolute shock at what proponents of Islam were willing to do to their fellow human beings. Such incredible cruelty perpetrated with profound and utter hatred against innocent people here in America, my own brothers and sisters, I would say . . . although we are not related I feel love for these people, those who went through such an absolute horrible ordeal and the people who survived and helped others to survive.
How can this belief system of Islam coexist with the rest of us when it directs the followers of it to cause suffering and death?
How can you be a “scholar” of this poison when to be a “scholar” normally denotes a liberal intellect, a mind capable of forming logical thoughts and not promoting ways of destroying fellow human beings who do not subscribe to it.
Thus is one war President Trump can’t end unfortunately! Our Congress, our IC and the Euroweenies won’t let him! JMO
