Freeland immediately tried to switch the subject to China, but when Kernen pressed her to answer his question this is what she said: “On the Canadian economy, I am actually very bullish about the long-term prospects for the Canadian economy…”
This was followed by several minutes of rambling about Canada having what the world needs, “like Canada has a lot of natural gas…” she said. I was stun-stunned to hear a promo on natural gas coming from a dyed-purple-in-the-wool Green New Dealer like Chrystia Freeland…but I digress!
Kernen, to his credit, wouldn’t let her off the hook so she followed up with this gem: “This trade war, it’s going to hurt Canada, Canadians know that, the government has been very clear about it, but Canadians are prepared to take that pain because our sovereignty is worth it…”
Oh yeah? says who, Ms Freeland? And here’s who she says is her source for all that Snow Mexican masochism:

Anyway, she uses normal store plastic bags as packing material. She gets replies back from Commifornia, Whoregon, Trashington thanking her for her “packing material”. People buy something for $1 just to get “packing material”.

Packaging – it’s wrapped around literally everything everyone buys… and we all pay dearly for it.
Packaging adds to the cost of every item sold – it’s not “free”! The paper stuffs are often high-quality & useful for upcycling as is some of the plastic – I don’t re-use much plastic but some if it’s the right size/shape.
The children’s museum here takes packaging donations for their art room – they separate & organize it so children can use it to build models – robots, monsters, animals, etc. – and theirs & other artists’ models are displayed all over the museum on the walls… I especially like the giant school of fish made out of plastic detergent bottles.
I’ve collected packaging to donate there for several years – someone threw out a box I was filling in the garage one time and I felt violated… stole the items I paid for & just threw it all away – NO BUENO!

After a couple days of runs on toilet paper, let’s see how this works out.

But, and it’s a big butt, Canadian TP makers learned in Covid lockdown that it’s the single most hoarded item in a retail crisis. So since then, the standard roll made here has gone from 200 to 180 to now 165 sheets, and a 12-pack went from $ 4.99 to $14.99 in the grocery store. 😡

What the U.S.-Venezuela Deal Is Not About
First, let’s specify what this deal is not about. Trump’s deal with the Rodriguez government is not about today. It is not about near-term impacts to lower oil and gasoline prices. It is not about replacing the millions of barrels of crude coming in from an increasingly China-friendly Canada each day with immediate supplies from a more friendly Venezuelan government. Oil prices are not immediately going to plummet to $60 per barrel as a result of this deal, nor are gasoline prices at the pump going to fall to levels seen prior to March 1 next week.
A high percentage of the acreage involved in the deal is greenfield acreage that will likely take 7 to 10 years to bring into production. Not 7 to 10 days – 7 to 10 years. Much of the remaining acreage consists of brownfield developments that were allowed to dilapidate into disrepair under the governments of Hugo Chavez and Nicolas Maduro. These assets will take time and billions of dollars in capital investments to turn into first or enhanced production.

I have serious doubts that Paxton can win in TX. He is up against the entire media complex in TX and nationally, his opponent is very well funded and a total creep (perfect for democrats), the TX GOP is working against him (Bushies), and the GOP Senate wants no part of this guy.
Trump is gonna have a tough time dragging him across the finish line. TX has plenty of vote fraud too out of the large urban centers. It’s Paxon’s job as state AG to make sure there is no fraud, but that’ll be tough to do and run a campaign. I hope the GOP can pick-off a seat the dems have now.
