FWIW Steady Steve, my brother was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer 5 1/2 years ago; after removing the 2″ tumor from his brain he underwent chemotherapy.
He has been in remission since December 2021. He’ll never be as strong as he once was, but he is enjoying life.

I will not say your wrong but when your partner dies it is hard for the other half to keep going, I could post many historical facts but the fact remains, you can die of a broken heart.
It’s pretty hard to make that link without a lot more information. Maybe she only got one shot or maybe she was given a placebo. Who knows. She was 80 and all those health issues are very common in people that age. They also can pop up quickly for the elderly.
The Covid vax did much harm, no question, but people do pass on from other things in their elder years too. Let her be at peace and speculating on the causes of her death won’t change a thing.

Being a caregiver can hurt your health. I can relate to that. I was a caregiver for my mother. I think if she died a week later, I would have died with her. I further felt my health decline helping being a caregiver for my grandson. Eating garbage, less sleep and yes ignoring symptoms…cancer.

Agree about what it was like in the past, but even a decade ago the anti-tourist resentment was palpable. Housing for locals was well out of their price bracket, or sitting idle for months as a second home, and seemingly every quiet town had a Michelin starred restaurant, the product of an odious TV celebrity chef, with prices only the clueless would pay, (step forward the luvvies).
I’ve started referring to the UK as bight(y), or the blighted one. It’s no fun living here anymore, and that was one of these islands greatest virtues, its people. Now, you’d be hard pressed to work out which country you’re in sometimes, with even small market towns a hotch-potch of races, with no understand, inclination or prompting to do anything other than preserve their own ‘cultures’. Yes, I was there in the late 70’s (on an adventure for a year) and non-residents were referred to as “emmets”. I went mostly for the landscape and the beaches. Newquay was AWESOME! It was difficult to find somewhere to live while working there, that is for sure! Even back then it was expensive.

I am really happy that I exited the UK in 1982. Best decision I ever made! The last time I went back was 2005 when my Mum passed away and I swear, I didn’t recognize the place. Over run with hijabs and non-English speaking people. My final cab drive to the airport was with a driver from Afghanistan! Very very sad.

Naturally we all think about Lancaster, PA, but that area has become not enough acreage for the increase in the population.
Why, you ask, is the Amish population growing? Ah, that’s the vital point.
According to the video, in the 60s less than 60% of the youth remained. In the 70s they built their own one room schoolhouses and removed their children from the public schools.

You know “PATRIOT” act that violates our 4th amendment. “Affordable Care” Act that is neither affordable – or do they care.
We’ve got some legislation going down in the House and Senate that we, voters, need to hold our representatives accountable for.
