When I watch this type of debate, I am reminded why I stopped watching Fox News. Islamic Communist Abdul El-Sayed repeatedly claims Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is not needed, because the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) used to handle deportations. He says why do we need ICE when INS used to work just fine.
Big hair Watters could just easily say, because when the INS was in operation, we had less than a million illegal aliens and now we have 50+ million; that’s why. But no, they end up talking in circles about an issue that is a priority of most American citizens.
On each issue, it is very easy to take apart Abdul El-Sayed with policy facts and structural realism. However, that wouldn’t work for the communist cause, so Jesse Watters instead just banters for the audience giving legitimacy to the nonsense. Extremely annoying. Both of these guys are the problem.

He underestimated El-Sayed because he says so many things that are nonesene — the DSA/CPUSA platform of reparations, doing away with Congress, removing the Supreme Court and the Electoral College are all absurd positions. Underestimating a slick talking Communist is easy to do, but they will slither around with specious arguments and bury you in a mountain of lies.
I could not stomach watching it, but from what I’ve read here, it seems like it went as expected.

He engages in endless arguing, with great faux outrage, about the most absurd and delusional subjects the left likes to advance endlessly giving them legitimacy. Most liberal positions are so deranged that they should be dismissed outright but Hannity continually dignifies and legitimizes them and keeps them active in the current narrative cycles.

We did watch and it was a total chaotic- speaking-over-each-other-non-understandable yelling. It was clear Abdul El-Sayed wanted to fill the air with nothing because he had no clear view of what he was spouting.

I watched it live with my beautiful wife. I had to walk out of the room as no one really made any valid points on either side due to the talking over each other. The comparison of circumcision to child mutilation sex change surgery, though, was the kicker for me. It certainly showed how totally off the wall crazy these people are. Michigan Republicans need to run that exchange non stop on the airwaves from now until Election Day. If the Democrats still win that senate seat then we will be at an inflection point for sure.

But if the expense of TV time was really the issue, we would see a premium on discussions being succinct and to-the-point. Instead, TV news typically defines “the crux of an issue” to be how it’s perceived by the public–a domain over which they presume to hold sway. Likewise, election seasons are about the horse race, seldom the issues.
As my late wife put it, “We don’t have 24-hour news channels… we have 23-hour speculation channels.” Once anything becomes fact, it’s no longer deemed news-worthy.
I think most of us would argue that controlling public perception is both their mission and their business model–their raison d’être. For what other purpose would a third generation owned global media empire, originating firmly within the WW1 British Empire, exist?
