The South Carolina Senate race between Darline Graham and Ralph Norman will be very interesting to watch as the runoff date arrives soon, August 25th.
Darline Graham is supported by President Trump, the NRSCC, the professional republican class and the new endorsement from the 3rd place candidate Russell Fry. Additionally, Darline Graham has been endorsed by Senator Lisa Murkowski, Senator Tim Scott and other very well-known Republican brand names.
Mrs Graham has also picked up a $1 million Super-PAC donation from the leftist “Invest in Tomorrow Coalition” a clean energy and climate change advocacy group. They will be running ads against Ralph Norman.
That said, CTH has a strong hunch that Ralph Norman is going to win. There’s an internal poll showing Norman with a 12-point advantage (52/40); however, that’s not the strongest indicator.
A very unscientific review of voter sentiment visible on social media reflects a profound rejection of the Lindsey Graham legacy vote. While it is entirely possible those voices are just more algorithmically visible than Darline Graham supporters, there sure are a lot of South Carolina republican voters willing to support Ralph Norman over Graham.
It’s weird because no one seems overly enthusiastic for either candidate but voting Norman over Graham appears to be the least bad option. Darline Graham’s record working for leftist NGOs has many people rejecting her as an option.

I think that PT’s endorsement of Darline Graham was for the sole reason that he was a good friend of her brother. I don’t think it means anything more than that and no one should think that it does. If SC voters find reasons to prefer Norman over her, and it sounds like the list of such reasons is growing every day, then they should vote accordingly, regardless of PT’s endorsement. PT will probably not have any problem seeing Norman elected over her.

This comment IMO is unwarranted. President Trump had a personal as well as a political relationship with Senator L. Graham. He is entitled to endorse the sister out of respect. It is his call and his alone. If Norman wins, I do believe that President Trump will be very supportive of him, and happy that the people of SC voted for their preferred candidate.
Probably same climate super pac that took out Andy Ogles. I personally believe Ralph Norman is more qualified. Lots of folks did not like Lindsay’s agenda.
i am hoping Jay Collins pulls out Florida Repub primary this week. Byron is unqualified to be Governor of the great state of Florida. My state matters. It would be a Trump endorsement loss.
I live in SC and voted for Norman. He has a history of standing up and keeping his word. He also has had a successful career out of politics. I have met him and did not know who he was. He was strait forward in his positions. He will not be bought out.

If you looked at what happened after PDJT endorsed Ken Paxton & then thought about a recalcitrant (at best) republiCON senate, you’d begin to understand why PDJT endorsed incumbent senator Lindsey Graham & now his sister.
It is up to individual citizens to weigh & measure candidates & make their own decisions.

The Congress has been basically dead since the 17th Amendment. This President is spending a crap load of time educating as incredibly stupid populous. Perhaps candidate Norman didn’t kiss the proverbial ring. President Trump would not endorse Steve Garvey in CA because Garvey didn’t specifically entreat the President for his endorsement. And yeah, that’s petty.

Ideologically, I don’t see much difference.
Emotionally, I cringe at Graham getting support from known Leftist sources, including the reprehensible Murkowski. Plus, the whole “handover” thing from brother to sister just grates. Then there is her working with Leftist NGOs.
If I could vote in SC, I would vote Norman just to frustrate the professional Left.

Totally agree. As soon as she was appointed, I got an email from her talking about running for the seat. Totally turned me off as did the fact that she reverted to her maiden name as well. I think that was for name recognition, which unfortunately plays a role in elections for those not well informed about the candidates. I was hoping to have a better choice than Norman but will definitely vote for him.

Fry was probably the better option of either one here. There are standard Graphic RINO ads running against Ralph Norman that make me want to vote for him but my Spidey sense is that he is a used Car salesman type running for the Senate. Not a good look. We need a dedicated MAGA fighter not another across the aisle squish.

We live in SC but did not vote for Lindsey Graham in his primary this time. We will vote for Darline though. Nikki Haley, Mark Sanford, and many other Never-Trumpers have endorsed Norman, so it feels like a Trump vs Haley election. I don’t want Haley to win.
Originally when she was asked to take over until the election she said she didn’t want to be in politics. The Graham machine that is in place must have convinced her that she doesn’t have to do much of anything. Travel to Kiev ( first class of course), attend parties, meet with the right people and vote how she is instructed to do. The machine will do everything.

It’s a shame the President insists on endorsing people who are not obviously proponents of his MAGA agenda. And Graham isn’t if her track record is to be appreciated as any indication. Nevertheless, while being a Texan I personally have no ‘dog in the fight’ (other than the composition of the US Senate), I’m hoping Norman wins; America actually had enough of Lindsey Graham McCain-RINO-grade political misery and it’s highly likely his sister would carry on his legacy influence.
