This hymn is usually sung in the days before Easter, as we recall Christ’s suffering for us and for the world. Maybe it doesn’t hurt to remind ourselves more often than just once once a year.
Traditionally, every Sunday is a celebration of Christ’s Resurrection. So we’ll try to have a Resurrection hymn for Sunday.

COMMENTARY FOR 1 JOHN 5:7
Brotherly love is the effect of the new birth, which makes obedience to all God’s commandments pleasant. (1-5) Reference to witnesses agreeing to prove that Jesus, the Son of God, is the true Messiah. (6-8) The satisfaction the believer has about Christ, and eternal life through him. (9-12) The assurance of God’s hearing and answering prayer. (13-17) The happy condition of true believers, and a charge to renounce all idolatry. (18-21)
6-8 We are inwardly and outwardly defiled; inwardly, by the power and pollution of sin in our nature. For our cleansing there is in and by Christ Jesus, the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Ghost. Some think that the two sacraments are here meant: baptism with water, as the outward sign of regeneration, and purifying from the pollution of sin by the Holy Spirit; and the Lord’s supper, as the outward sign of the shedding Christ’s blood, and the receiving him by faith for pardon and justification. Both these ways of cleansing were represented in the old ceremonial sacrifices and cleansings. This water and blood include all that is necessary to our salvation. By the water, our souls are washed and purified for heaven and the habitation of saints in light. By the blood, we are justified, reconciled, and presented righteous to God. By the blood, the curse of the law being satisfied, the purifying Spirit is obtained for the internal cleansing of our natures. The water, as well as the blood, came out of the side of the sacrificed Redeemer. He loved the church, and gave himself for it, that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word; that he might present it to himself a glorious church, #Eph 5:25-27|. This was done in and by the Spirit of God, according to the Saviour’s declaration. He is the Spirit of God, and cannot lie. Three had borne witness to these doctrines concerning the person and the salvation of Christ. The Father, repeatedly, by a voice from heaven declared that Jesus was his beloved Son. The Word declared that He and the Father were One, and that whoever had seen him had seen the Father. And the Holy Ghost, who descended from heaven and rested on Christ at his baptism; who had borne witness to Him by all the prophets; and gave testimony to his resurrection and mediatorial office, by the gift of miraculous powers to the apostles. But whether this passage be cited or not, the doctrine of the Trinity in Unity stands equally firm and certain. To the doctrine taught by the apostles, respecting the person and salvation of Christ, there were three testimonies. 1. The Holy Spirit. We come into the world with a corrupt, carnal disposition, which is enmity to God. This being done away by the regeneration and new-creating of souls by the Holy Spirit, is a testimony to the Saviour. 2. The water: this sets forth the Saviour’s purity and purifying power. The actual and active purity and holiness of his disciples are represented by baptism. 3. The blood which he shed: and this was our ransom, this testifies for Jesus Christ; it sealed up and finished the sacrifices of the Old Testament. The benefits procured by his blood, prove that he is the Saviour of the world. No wonder if he that rejects this evidence is judged a blasphemer of the Spirit of God. These three witnesses are for one and the same purpose; they agree in one and the same thing.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Linda is a self represented artist working out of her home studio which she shares with her husband and two very spoiled dogs. Her art is in many private collections throughout the United States and Canada. She has received many awards for her art and has been juried in to National shows. Her favorite medium to work in is oil. However, she does enjoy experimenting in unique and different media, styles and techniques. She has taught classes at a local junior college and currently participates in many artist organizations in the surrounding area.
Her art is currently at 50 Penn Place Gallery, 1900 Northwest Expressway,and Native Art and Jewelry both in Oklahoma City.
When asked about her art she will most often replies ‘I paint for myself and what excites me. My art is very eclectic, but then so am I’ .

A Christian, while compassionate, does not encourage theft or laziness. This is why Paul wrote to the congregation in Thessalonica: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. Able bodied citizens should not receive freebies from the government or a charity for all sorts of excuses. The same should appy to illegal aliens and asylum seekers. Most claiming asylum are merely economic migrants. When they come from poorer countries the cost of supporting them far exceeds their needs back home.
The men illegally entering the UK cost the state something like £41 000 ($55 000) per year and this comes from struggling, hard working, taxpaying Brits. The amount to support a family of 6 in the UK needs would be sufficient to support nearly ten families this size in their home countries. I would happily support a reputable charity assisting these people for a year or two to get them back on their feet in their home countries. Put a moratorium on legal immigration until a way is found to reduce it to 5% and have asylum seekers seek temporary refuge in the nearest neighboring country. These should be working communities depending on a healthy balance between temporary aid and their own work. Put pressure on their home countries to fix the situation causing the outflux and enable their people to return.
Moratorium yes! 5% NO! We need to see assimilation, integration, self sufficiency, respect for new nation and citizens of that nation. Plus all must be off the dole and able to refund what was spent helping them or out they can go again! Plus watchdog agency to ensure that they are no longer given aid that citizens can never get and that they are meeting criteria to stay. Our so-called “generational wealth” never existed for many and has been destroyed for many more. No more favoritism based on any criteria. Zero crimes from any. After a period of time we can consider more inbound immigration depending on how well the current newcomers adapt to our expectations which will be in writing and are legally binding and they will be sent back if they fail on any matter. If they wish to create opportunities for their brethren then they will do their best.

Rather frustrating when one has nothing to say, which is probably the result of being bombarded by so much conflicting information all are subjected to today. I guess at some point the brain just calls a time-out. I’d go fishing if I fished, or surfing if I was still capable, but, I guess I’ll settle for a hot cuppa and a pack of biscuits (cookies) next to the ocean as the next best thing.

Just watched a tribute for Sam Faddis. The Committee on the Present Danger: China. Words, truth, wisdom, wisdom to heed. One each of us need to use, example, teach by example.
