The April 2026 White House Correspondents’ Dinner was disrupted after a lone gunman opened fire on the scene at the Washington Hilton. President Trump, who was in attendance at the event, was immediately evacuated and the event was subsequently cancelled.

The federal magistrate judge, Zia Faruqui, seemed to think it is a terrible thing Allen was in restraints during the hearing and after Allen complained was very critical that he was supposedly being treated worse than the J6 defendants. Of course he should be treated worse! Jeanine Pirro doesn’t think much of that magistrate. He must be an Obama or Biden appointee.

This old 83 grandma got totally harassed when I recently had to go through TSA with a new leg cast after slip and fall. The gleefully notified me since I could not walk through their scanners, I would be subjected to a full body pat down including breasts and buttocks, in full view of all the other crowding passengers swirling around me .
When they scanned my brand new cast with their wand, they detected metal. (!) Only to finally learn it came from the wheel chair I was sitting in. Plus I had to take off my one shoe on my non-injured leg. What exactly do we get after age 80 from TSA? Being branded as a granny terrorist, when I could not even walk.
Your TSA experience sounds familiar. Still have the rod from broken leg almost 30 years ago and it shows up in the scanner as it always has. However because the sign says “Don’t remove shoes” I am yelled at: REMOVE YOUR SHOES! I am moving you up! STAND Here! We have to pat you down! Put your shoes back on! I have to swab your shoes and “cook this swab” before you can go! All yelled at the top of their lungs as though I were a criminal. Everytime I have gone through this joke of a “keeping you safe” in the last 20 years it has been worse than the last time.

I had some big black lady tell me she was going to check my boobs, groin and backside. I saw hubby standing over by the conveyor belt with our carry-ons and said, “See him? He usually does that!” Not supposed to hate people, but the TSA comes really close, right behind tailgaters.
I have a small plate and bunch of screws in my left ankle from a break and my right leg has a titanium hip. I guess I would cause all sorts of problems for them! I will be 76 this year, so I guess I am on their list for harassment.
I won’t worry about it as I have not been on a plane since 9/11 and will not subject myself to the tsa poke, prod and pawing of my person. If I can not get to my destination by auto, I don’t need to go there. What a bunch of perverted, power loving, reprobates the tsa appears to be!
In October, 2001, my daughter and I went to Disneyworld because my sister, her godmother, insisted every child should go to Disney when they turn 6 and she knew I wasn’t taking her.
We flew Southwest and for our return trip we got to the airport early enough to be in boarding group A. At the time, they chose every X number of people for additional security at the boarding gate. They would not do it before boarding and we ended up at the beginning of the C group after they examined her carry-on and backpack and wanded her.
They didn’t check MY luggage, my purse or do the wand on me. If I had something in her luggage, I had a LOT of time to move it. She was 6! It was so stupid!
That’s unusual being checked at the gate. I’ve only seen that at a few select airports and for specific flights, usually international.
I think it was unique to Southwest because of their boarding system. That happened to me one time, when I had Group A (or maybe B) and was near the head of the line, then got delayed due to the screening. I agree with Mari, don’t know why they couldn’t prescreen once you got selected.

Pretty much all my flying is international so the only restriction is that after final security you are airside unless you want to go through the whole process again.
After 9/11 I did experience gate checks but they were chaotic. The entire gate was cleared out and we went through a final full security screening. Once done you were restricted to the gate. If you needed to use the restroom you had to go through it all again. Fortunately they don’t do that any longer as they moved security to prior to airside.
