Yes. And I find it wonderful. He is controlling the initial response. And they feel obligated to let him.

An invitation for an interview was extended, the President accepted and initiated a response. That’s not exactly running to media outlets.
So they can continue to embarrass themselves and show their true colours.

Trump has always been an odd duck. He has turned very vile with some loyalists when they go against him and then he piles on the love for many never-Trumpers like Graham. You just never know.

My understanding is that CNN, and other outlets, solicited a response from the President on the unexpected news of Graham’s passing, so the White House arranged a call in, to discuss Lindsey Graham – nothing else, as Tapper was reminded.

If you don’t die of cancer, you die of a heart attack, which often comes suddenly and without warning. That’s likely what happened to Lindsey Graham.
Years from now, hundreds of thousands of people will die in their old age from cardiac arrest brought on by myocarditis which was in turn brought on by the inflammation caused by spike proteins in COVID vaccinations. Because years will have passed between the vax dates and resultant heart attacks, few will make the connection and Pfizer and Moderna will, once again, be off the hook.

Just as an aside, if the vax was killing young men’s hearts it was surely killing old men’s hearts.
Old men though have so many other possible causes that kill hearts that they could sweep the vax heart deaths under the rug.
Young Men don’t have those causes. They couldn’t sweep their heart deaths under any rug.
There is no magic vulnerability only when young.
Yet they were still able to fool us into thinking that it was safe for old people.

President Donald Trump described the sudden death of Sen. Lindsey Graham as a major setback for one of his top legislative priorities, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act, during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday morning.
Trump said that he spoke with Graham just hours before the senator’s death late Saturday night and called the loss “a big blow to the SAVE America Act, let me tell you.”
Trump told host Kristen Welker that Graham had just returned from a trip to Ukraine when he called the president Saturday evening.
“I got a call last night, sometime in the early evening. He said we’re all set for the SAVE America Act,” Trump recounted. “He was pushing the SAVE America Act like crazy. He got back and said he just landed from Ukraine. I said, ‘That’s a long trip to make.’ He sounded a little tired but perfect, but a little bit tired, and had a right to be. He was a worker, he was really a worker. But he sounded great, actually, but he actually said he was tired. But he wanted to pass the SAVE America Act, and I said, ‘We’re going to get it done, Lindsey, we’re going to get it done, I’ll see you, like soon. We might even meet today.’”
Setting up a renewed push to pass the SAVE America Act in honor of longtime Senator Graham, who strongly supported it.
President Trump, above all, is a pragmatic man, with his eyes always fixed on the prize.
My lasting memory of Miss Lindsey is him and Pappa John, smirking, as they stand side by side picking up their graft $ in an office of the Ukranian government.There are very few heroes in the halls of Congress.

It’s best to look at the projects/legislation Graham was involved in to see who ‘had a dog in the hunt’ and why Graham was in their way.. Isn’t it always about money and power?

Senator John McCain was buried 8 days after he died.
The time between his death and his burial was extended due to a massive, five-day cross-country procession honoring his life. His body first lay in state at the Arizona State Capitol, followed by a memorial service in Phoenix. He was then flown to Washington, D.C., where he lay in state in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda and had a national funeral service at the Washington National Cathedral.

Finally, on September 2, he was laid to rest during a private ceremony at the United States Naval Academy Cemetery in Annapolis, Maryland.
It will be interesting to see how he is honored .
Eight days isn’t that long or extended. We needed that long for my Dad just due to needing all the arrangements sorted, including scheduling the Mass of Christian Burial, and for friends and family from across the country needing time to travel here.
The funeral consultants said that taking even two weeks wasn’t unusual just with all the matters to be considered and the needs of the family.
