I have no fact-based idea why President Trump is sending the new Airforce One to the United Kingdom, while the President takes the older airplane. However, I’m pretty certain this is not about having U.S. military stationed at Mildenhall Air Force Base, get a tour of it.

Instead of the threat coming from the Iranians, maybe it was various of the Europeans who posed the most threat and the decision was made not to have him in the new Air Force One while flying over their countries?

I read elsewhere that the new aircraft does not have the anti missile defense system that the old one has. Considering what Iran is doing it seems prudent.
Presumably the refurbished Qatar plane has ALL of the secure comms and defensive measures capabilities that the other ones have?
If this is true, then the only thing that makes sense is that something mechanical came up that caused the USAF to recommend using one of the older planes until further notice.
They would have grounded it for mechanical issues.
Perhaps the sky blue bottom of the old one blends into the sky better than the dark blue of the new one. There was a reason that color was originally picked for the old one.
A gift from the Muslim Brotherhood aligned Qatar. Would not be surprised it was sabotaged, especially after Trump today mentioned he could be taken out.
Possibly the chaff/flare system for diverting anti-air missiles are offline, empty or not installed yet. Or maybe they were used up on the way to Turkey. The old AF-1 has them. Maybe they will be repaired or reloaded in Germany and England. I remember the first time I saw a president on TV. It was Eisenhower lying that we were not missing any planes over the USSR. Qatar gifted it to him. Perhaps he decided that the duplicitous nature of the Iranians was a cultural trait of the mideast in general, and the plane might have a booby trap built in that our CIA and FBI mistakenly overlooked.

Air Force One is a converted Qatari 747.
