Retired Magistrate here: Well she is very pregnant, according to what I read she is due in late July and it is very hot in Washington D.C. right now and she is probably very uncomfortable.
At almost nine months pregnant I don’t know of any woman who is particularly happy; yes you are happy about the upcoming birth but no, you are not happy about a sore back, swollen feet, not being able to sleep and feeling like the Goodyear blimp!

I agree with you- and regret my presumption.
Admittedly, I was not aware of her condition.
She was polite and genuinely interested in the conversation-
I had not seen her close up in a long time.
It’s called childbirth. My lovely wife who died at 36 young years old gave birth to 4 healthy sons in a birthing center via a midwife with not a stitch of painkillers so please don’t give her anymore glory than she might deserve. She endured many hot summers as well.
We had four sons in six years and she carried them all while raising the next so my bar is pretty high on motherhood.
Especially those who have “special privileges” being the VP’s wife.
All pregnancies and all births are not the same. Sometimes they are different even for the same woman. She can have one pregnancy that is a breeze and the next one is difficult at every step.
Don’t compare.

I think that is the big thing in how Usha is speaking. She is sitting with President Trump recording a show she does for children, and she is speaking to children, while also speaking to the President of the United States.
Usha deserves respect for the grace she showed and how she is teaching children to be respectful, too.

Read above, dear vikingmom. My wife died of breast cancer AFTER raising four sons and I helped deliver every one. First one was fine. Second one had the cord around his neck. Apgar was 2 until the midwife massaged him, 60 seconds later he was a 9. Third one had a perfect knot in his cord so he was a miracle baby as you would know. Fourth one was like the first.
They are alive except for the second who fought for our country in Afghanistan and died from injuries years later.. due to malfeasance of the VA and finally the Big H, (not fentanyl, I checked).
I don’t want to argue with you. You are a true Patriot and I respect that. I just don’t think Usha is the person we think she is.

My sympathies in the loss of both your wife and your son but I still maintain that criticizing a woman who is nine months pregnant is poor form, no matter who she is or what privileges she may have.
I have a son who is an addict, although he is currently eight years sober, for which I am thankful every single day so that is not anything I would wish on any parent. I am very sorry that your son got caught up in a different kind of Hell after serving his country and all that entails!
I am not defending Usha Vance’s politics, because I don’t know them, and I have definitely expressed concerned about her adherence to Hinduism. Those subjects are fair game and worthy of discussion but my initial comments, along with Marcia’s, were specifically directed at posters who were denigrating her for a “lack of energy” and a “bot like” appearance. I stand by my responses in that regard – motherhood is not synonymous with martyrdom and I do reject that comparison BUT I will always give a woman who is in the final trimester of pregnancy the benefit of the doubt because it IS a major strain on the body, regardless of how “easy” a particular pregnancy may be. (My second was low and would randomly “stretch” out and hit either my bladder or my sciatica without warning and drop me to the ground…easy pregnancy, great delivery, wonderful kid, BUT it took a toll that no one who has not experienced it can understand!)

Anyhow, thank you again, cuz I my third son has beat the devil H and is living a great life.

Any moron would know that a man can’t imagine the pain of childbirth…well maybe for a short period of time if you passed kidney stones (which I have) but even that is a fleeting moment compared to going into labor. Trust me as I saw my wife go through it four times and though I did NOT experience the PAIN I can tell who kidney stones were a walk in the park. Of course she had no painkillers, etc as it was in a birthing center so it was natural.
Like God intended.
We don’t live in Europe. Get a grip!

The second Lady did seem kind of stressed out and she has very conflicting feelings about stuff. And if she is 9 months pregant, … and the high heat of the weather. And the stress of going to meetings with the President, would stress me out.
Anyway, if I can say something in her defense, …. she doesn’t dislike Trump has much as Mrs Pence HATED Trump … and Mrs. Pence had the same look as Justice Amy Barrett has currently (Barrett can’t hide the HATRED OF TRUMP at all. Some people LOVE Trump and some people really hate him. I have the same effect on people.
Trump shows where he is at, and just flows out of him, … love him or hate him, people will hear, the TRUTH as TRUMP SEES it, if you are around Trump. I LOVE him, and some of his mannerisms make me love him even more.
Some people have trouble accepting others, just the way they are, and have “judgements” and “negative head chatter going on in their head”. Mrs Pence had lots of “judgements” and negative head chatter in her head, and she was NOT able to “hide it”. The current Second Lady, is better at hiding stuff. She HAS to support her husband, 100 percent … where ever he works at.
