I still remember from around 2016 someone on here warned about the upcoming Tom Cotton and not trustworthy. I know that’s not saying much but but I always kept that in the back of my head with anything regarding him.

I haven’t trusted Cotton since I noticed that he voted for cloture on something he later voted against which of course passed. I forget what the bill was but it wasn’t good. It might have been one of those McConnell special Omnibus bills passed during a lame duck session that helped out Democrats, just as Republicans were about to be in the majority. The vote against was merely a show vote. The vote that counted was for cloture.
Says allot when he was part of the “Island” gathering , then nominated to head the SSCI.

I will never forget my beloved President Ronald Reagan got the same or similar treatment from the RINO scumbags, the usual lying and cheating demon-o-rats, and quite possibly the c i a as well.
Well one reason is, he has all the brains and guts. The others, not so much!
Once had a co worker, a go getter, and he asked me why people complained about what he was doing. Long story short, I replied it was because they couldn’t keep up with his work so they try to bring him down to theirs. Congress can’t stand it when a president actually works for the people. It shows how little they do.
Yep, had a boss tell me that when I was new, he said don’t rock the boat too fast, many are comfortable with the mediocre.
President Trump gave them PLENTY of opportunities to stand up for us.

In my college days I had seriously considered teaching at the high school level (American history and civics, if you can imagine), and did a semester of student teaching at a highly-rated school (in an upscale community outside Portland, Oregon…if you can imagine)…and before very long came to the same conclusion as the previous posters. All the good, enthusiastic teachers were leaving the field whereas the extremely mediocre, lazy ones were firmly entrenched in their comfortable “boats.”
This was several decades again…cannot imagine what it must be like today.

My mom was a teacher, Special Ed, and she taught me to read at home with Phonics when I was 3.Always took me to the wonderland of the library! Loved to read! Skipped two grades in school. Reading matters.
She said that the advent of two things ruined education … 1) unions getting control, & 2) federal $$ going directly to local schools. She said that after #2, the school boards started to treat local taxpayers (who paid 85% – 90% of the school expenses), like crap. Mid-70s.
Now you know why school districts like those in Camden, Baltimore, etc, graduate/advance students to the next grade, not caring that only 8% of said students can read & do math at grade level.

I remember being a customer at the retail counter at the USPS. One of the employees was recently retired military and he put the other employees to shame. He moved so fast and got the job done so effectively that it was stunning to witness. He moved through that waiting line so quickly that he serviced 4 customers to each coworker’s one.
I commented on his work ethic and he said that his fellow employees despise him. They glared at him while he and I chatted. It was obvious that the USPS was a temporary gig for him.
Their whole culture was set up to go as slowly as possible.
A lady at my church had recently separated from the Army, enlisted woman, black, unfailingly hard-working & cheerful. Retired as Major.
The PO gave her the worst shift, crappiest job, but she did it with enthusiasm & efficiency. 2 weeks into the job, she was approached by a big black shop steward, told her to stop working so hard, she was making everybody else look bad.
She said in her sweetest voice, “Well, they’re all free to work as hard as I am”! Got fired 2 weeks later. Found a MUCH BETTER JOB.

That gave her the job? Nope, but if I had been an executive with hiring ability, or ownedmy own business, I would have hired her on the spot. She would be an asset anywhere.
Unions. I used to work in a union shop. When new hires came on board, they worked really hard. After a while, they lost their motivation and started slacking off like the old timers. There’s a saying, “the pay is the same.”
I had a summer job in high school working for the City Parks & Recreation Dept. Mostly cutting grass in the parks and weeding the flower gardens. The City would send us out with one lawn mower for every three summer workers. I asked the 50 something City Employee Leader of our team, “why don’t they give us three lawn mowers instead of one so we can get more work done?” He looked at me like I had three heads. That was my first introduction at age 16 to what built in government mediocrity looked like.
Same experience here. They would do a little in the morning and hide the rest of the day. No questions asked.
Quite often I would notice new workers that weren’t that productive that never came back after lunch, LOL!
When I became an executive & could hire my own team, I would NEVER hire a former govt employee. I knew what I would get.

What this says to me is…stalemate, and the fate of all those issues will depend on whether the American people can come to understand that FISA is not to protect them, but to control them. Anyone who has followed the Saga knows there’s tremendous exposure issues for both democrats and republicans in the Senate Intelligence Committee. According to Wikipedia, Jay Clayton had the votes of 3 democrat senators during PDJT’s first term for head of the SEC. One of them is John Warner, who is giddy over the idea of Jay Clayton being DNI.
