This pick puzzled me from the beginning. Regardless of what we think of crypto, the Trump family got into crypto because they were de-banked. A large part of Trump supporters are therefore from the crypto community.
Clayton’s last act at the SEC on his way out the door? Declare war on crypto and file lawsuits. Puzzling.
My hypothesis is that PDJT nominated Clayton in order to expose the RINOs. They couldn’t move fast enough to get Clayton in and get Pulte out. They took the bait and, once again, exposed their Hate Trump-MAGA agenda.

This just proves that Jay Clayton was the compromise candidate with the Senate RINOs but if the Senate RINOs refuse to pass the Save America Act in return for Trump’s nomination of Jay Clayton, Clayton will get ditched for a DNI candidate that Trump actually wants. However, I don’t see Pulte ultimately getting the job as DNI with the current GOP Senate. Instead, Trump will likely withdraw his nomination of Jay Clayton and nominate Devin Nunes, who was the previous Chair of the House Intelligence Committee.
Pulte doesn’t need to be confirmed as DNI. He can do a lot of damage to the Uniparty weasels in 210 days.
If Pulte is rejected, he can be nominated for a second time for an additional 210 days, or August 25, 2027!
