In love there must be respect. Respect is accepting who, what, and where a person is. Often measurements are based on what we think that person needs, who they should be, and where they ought to be in life. Too often listening to them is overlooked by considering what you think they need, are, have. Accept a person as honest and respect their honesty. I’m not talking of honesty of words but of who, what, where they are in life.

Live as an example for others, yes, Arcticman.

Especially if in the company of any young such as children or grandchildren. They are watching…and learn.

When we can be anything in this world, we should be kind and aware that there are others besides ourselves.

There is a young German man who has come for the World Cup; and he is taking the opportunity to travel through the forgotten parts of America, eschewing the more well known (to foreigners) big name (hellhole) cities.

He’s recording his experiences and posting them with videos and comments about how wonderful, generous, gracious, and hospitable the people are and have been to him. And how beautiful this country is…and his awe in finding it so.

Stop by stop is teaching him that what he has heard from European powers which despise our nation are hideous untruths. This young man who goes by the name of “German Freddy” is one who I am sure Rabbie Burns had in mind when he wrote of the blessing it can be to “see ourselves as others see us”.

His exploits put paid to the sweeping, inaccurate smearing of all of our country, and it is that we must increasingly protect from those whose evil intent it is to destroy.

If they succeed, it is they, the wreckers, who would scream the loudest for what they were instrumental in tearing down.

We cannot, MUST NOT, not let that happen.

German Freddy is a mirror, giving us a chance to open our eyes once again, to all which we have that must be celebrated, protected, and given thanks for. God bless him also for it.
