SpaceX went public this week and, in doing so, made Elon Musk the world’s first trillionaire.

In the same swoop, Musk also made over 4,000 of his employees millionaires.

Elon and his employees don’t have that money in a bank. Much of it exists in stock options. What no one can argue is that Elon created more millionaires in a shorter period of time than anyone else in history.

This should have been a moment of celebration for Americans. Musk is a citizen, and his stunning success should have been an inspiration for a generation of potential innovators. Being number one often drives competitors looking to knock you off your pedestal. It is the core of capitalism.

Instead, what came out of the woodwork were a few of the seven deadly sins — namely, greed, lust, and wrath. 

One segment of the population attempted to diminish Musk’s accomplishment by claiming that it isn’t fair that he has that amount of money. The more moronic masses went with “That’s too much money for anyone to have.” They went out of their way to gloss over his long list of historic technological accomplishments.

• Co-founded Paypal, which ushered in online shopping for the world.
• Reinvented the electric car industry.
• Innovated energy storage.
• Was a key introducer of vehicles driving themselves.
• Built SpaceX.
• Created reusable spacecraft.
• Created Starlink, which expanded the internet around the world.
• Saved free speech online with his purchase and realignment of X.
• Introduced Grok (A.I.).
• Even rescued the trapped astronauts in the ISS.

Within minutes of him reaching this new pinnacle (it would be foolhardy to think he has peaked), Senators Warren and Sanders crawled out of the shadows and started calling for a “wealth tax.”  They demanded that the federal government take that money from Elon so it can be distributed to the American people.  It is laughable greed, yet a lot of people voiced the same opinion, harboring the illusion that they will somehow get some of the money.

Elon Musk already is the largest single taxpayer in the U.S.  For those who claim he doesn’t pay his fair share, he pays approximately $11 billion.  True, in some years he hasn’t realized any income, but I invite anyone who claims he isn’t paying enough to pay a tenth of what he does in taxes. 

The idiocy — that if the federal government did somehow manage to lay hands on his fortune, it would somehow benefit citizens — is ridiculous.  No one’s taxes would be reduced; the government has never done that.  That’s the same promise made with data centers, and not a single community has seen its taxes drop as a result of a data center being built.  The money would be wasted, as we have already seen thanks to DOGE.  It would be filtered to NGOs and friends of politicians.  No one except them would be better off.
Elon was the darling of the left when he was building green automobiles.  The moment he supported President Trump, the radical progressives not only turned to hate, but endorsed the vandalism of his vehicles and even turned a blind eye to the arson at Tesla dealerships.  Their actions said nothing about Musk and everything about them and the rage they instill against anyone they don’t agree with.

Going after a wealthy person’s money, even if it is just stock options, is a disincentive for other would-be innovators.  “Why should I bother to come up with a new thing if the government is going to take the profits from it?”  It is a solidly anti-capitalist, full blown socialist ideal.  Look at how it worked in Venezuela, Cuba, Russia, and China.  Capitalism is the only economic system that provides the opportunity for people to amass wealth and create prosperity for themselves.  Additional tax levies on the wealthy stifle the drive for innovation.  It’s not just anti-capitalistic; it’s anti-American. 

Other than through fraud, how many millionaires has the U.S. government created?  Zero.  So why would anyone listen to grifters like Warren and Sanders?  I’d put Elon’s track record against them any day of the week.
Politicians sticking their hands in our pockets is not a new thing.  Castigating someone for being successful, then trying to rob him…that’s a new twist that we should all stand against.

I’ve been saying this from the beginning, the MOU is not an agreement. It is a precursor to a real agreement which will never happen. My take is that Trump needs to get passed the midterm elections. The ceasefire time frame lines up. I dont think Trump is naive. I think its all timing.
