President Trump has announced a deal with Iran that takes away the nuclear option. According to the Truth Social announcement, the signing of the agreement is scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday).
PRESIDENT TRUMP – “Barack Hussein Obama’s Deal with Iran, the JCPOA, was an easy, beautiful, smooth road to a Nuclear Weapon, which Iran would have had six years ago, and would have used long before now. My Agreement with Iran is the exact opposite, A WALL TO NO NUCLEAR WEAPON! In fact, they no longer want a Nuclear Weapon, nor will they have one, either through purchase, development, or any other form of procurement.
The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL. Our relationship with Iran is a much different and better one than previous Administrations have had. Unlike Obama’s Hundreds of Billions of Dollars in payments to them, including 1.7 Billion Dollars in green, cold cash, no money will exchange hands.”

The Prime Minister’s Office: President Trump spoke this evening with Prime Minister Netanyahu regarding the emerging memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Iran to enter into negotiations.
Even though Israel is not a party to the memorandum of understanding, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for President Trump’s commitment that the final agreement at the conclusion of negotiations will include the removal of enriched material, the dismantling of enrichment infrastructure, limits on missile production, and the cessation of Iran’s support for its terrorist proxies in the region. I wonder if signing the agreement with Iran is kinda like when I get my yearly termite inspection done and signed. I do know they go under the house and I’m guessing inspect pretty well, but what I want is that inspection letter signed by a company inspector. If later I get termites, that signed inspection is my insurance.

What is really happening here is Trump took it as far as he could economically and politically. Another way to look at it is this is a temporary cessation of hostilities in a longer multi-decade conflict.
Trump needs a win and a brief reprieve. The MOU gets signed. The Strait gets opened. Kinetic engagement pauses. Negotiations commence. Iran will ofc drag their feet, as usual.
Then the mid-terms come along, gas prices and inflation comes down. Possible Fed rate reduction. We keep the house.
After all that, if the nuclear issue is not resolved we move back in, rearmed, stronger this time.

My hope is that Iran’s neighbors will be part of the inspection and enforcement of the deal along the the USA. This will insure that it survives past Trumps presidency. No one wants Iran not to have a nuclear weapon more than its neighbors.
