Britain’s minister for Northern Ireland, Hilary Benn, delivers a warning to those who complain on social media about their stabbing or beheading. Minister Benn notes the danger created by people online sharing information from Belfast after two days of civic unrest in the city following a migrant stabbing and slicing a local resident.
The need for control is always a reaction to fear. Apparently, the government of Great Britain is very fearful.

The Irish in the north are protestants . Those in the republic (south of Ireland) are catholics. The nothern protestants want and demand to be British while the catholic south has always hated the British. Which Irish do you believe should give Ireland back to the other Irish side?
Well what you stated was once true, it no longer is. The North is now more Catholic than Protestant.

For clarity: The population of Northern Ireland is around 40% Catholic and 38% Protestant (2021 census). Britain partitioned Ireland into Northern Ireland, which became part of the United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland, and the rest became the Free State of Ireland, in 1921.
Over simplified a bit but in general, Protestants want it to stay part of the UK. The Catholics who were stranded in Northern Ireland want it to be returned Ireland.
This has caused decades of armed conflict in Northern Ireland and terrorist attacks in mainland Britain. A fragile peace agreement was implemented in 1998, with various flare-ups since then.
But for the first time in over 100 years, we are seeing both sides come together to address the larger new threat. Here’s a clip of one of each talking together on the Crumlin Road which bisects Belfast between their communities, and has been the scene of much violence in the past. So maybe there’s some hope?

Historically, Marching Season has been a time of sectarian strife between the native Catholic Irish and the imported ascendancy Protestants. Leon Uris’ book Trinity provides a fairly accurate history of Northern Ireland.
