Oh Betsy —- My heart. In this house, the kittahs get salmon and pea kibble – and their choices of super lux high protein wet food from Petco called “Whole Hearted”. Our veterinarian just RAVED at how beautiful our cats are, how beautiful and soft their coats are, and how clean their teeth are – without routine expensive dentals (I steer clear from what I feel is unnecessary anesthesia). The canned wet food has real green peas, pits of pumpkin pieces, in it and the cats go to town! Ol’ Timmy is moving towards his 15th birthday in July. What a blessing it has been to raise these little baffoons. And what joy they have given me through my tears.
I keep you perpetually in my heart, sweet friend. You need to know this. And my prayers for you and Savannah are constant and unremitting. Of course your crew are more than well cared for. All their birthdays came at once (as we always said in Wales) when they fell into your orbit, sis. And I know Timmy is struggking, but my goodness, could He have anyone who loves him as much as you do? I know Who made certain he and your others are with you. For your sake as much as theirs. SO good to see you…take refuge and heart in the Lord our God Who loves you as much as if you were the only one on earth 🙏🏻😘

We literally spend more feeding all the “critters” than the hoomans each month.
Our choice, and a good one at that!
Occasionally, someone will express their unsolicited opinion about our animal spending. I always smile (sweetly, I think 🤔) and tell them I’d be happy to feed them as well if they are in need.
IMHO dentals for pets are dangerous, though I know people choose that option for altruistic reasons.
In addition to the anesthesia concerns, bacteria is shed throughout the animals’ system. Especially for seniors this is very problematic. Two of our kitties are 16 and two are 18+. Every day is a challenge – and a gift. ❤️
Blessed evening, Lady. So nice to hear that someone besides me thinks putting animals under anesthesia should be left for emergency surgeries. What “did it” for me – I had Harry Houdini the Maine Coon scheduled for a dental. It was not long after Dan-O-Man had died. The vet messed up the scheduling – told me to bring him on in – they’d anesthetize him, do a cleaning, and if they found anything – they’d anesthetize him again on another day – for “scheduling purposes”. Told them ABSOLULTELY NOT!!!! Their scheduling conflict was not going to risk my cat’s life for their “convenience”. Nope. Not so soon after losing Dan. Forget about it. He’ll do just fine without it.
Never did think about the bacteria aspect of it – but you know your stuff with your medical background and your multiple pet experience.

The visit to Missy’s mom and pups was interesting. Several puppies followed mom around, several played around us .. chewing shoe laces etc. But this little one was exploring everywhere. Doc wanted a hunting pal and figured she was IT!

I have found Aldi’s 70% and 85% dark chocolate to be the best I have ever eaten. It has also increased in price but not as much as other brands in the regular grocery stores. It can be hard to find, because Aldi’s as it sells out almost as soon as it hits the shelf. Aldi’s packages it with other flavors which do not sell so you find the shelf full of those and people hoard the 70 and 85% dark chocolate.

When we were living in Wales, we stopped on summer’s evening to help a group of four lovely Swiss citizens whose car had broken down. They were so grateful and took our names, phone number, and address as we bid them fare thee well…and that was that. We didn’t hear from them.
Oh well…
But a year later, we received a phone call from them with an abject apology. They’d misplaced our information and had only found it (folded in their binoculars lens cap) as they were preparing for another holiday. We had a lovely chat, and at the end the beautiful Swiss lady told us they’d sent a thank you…which was a large box filled with all sorts of Swiss chocolates. So unnecessary I told her, but she would have none of it.

My idea of chocolate was never so changed as it was as we made our way through this generous gift. It took us about a month, that’s how much of it there was, every bite pure bliss! A once in a lifetime treat.

It’s a substitute for “chocolate bars”… that amounts to sticking it to the profiteers & corrupters, so I am doubly satisfied; 2 obsessions served in one go…

My mom and dad who so loved their animals (all rescues and mostly oldsters) gave their pups Andes mint chocolates every day!
I tried the whole, “chocolate is bad for dogs” routine to no avail. They all lived long very happy lives.
And, me too! Not advocating, just offering an anecdote.
That is dark chocolate with 70% or more coaco and over 1 ounce. It also depends on the size of the dog but if your dog eats any amount of that get it to a Vet right away. Milk chocolate is not that dangerous. But my dog gets no chocolate because they don’t know the difference.
This old fella needs to be next to Suspicious Cat! Love this dogs eyes!

Awwwww, this is such a true statement! They always make bad days get better. They always seem to know when you are having a rough day.
Late Tuesday night Beau came in and was drooling horribly and wouldn’t open his mouth. His jaw was slightly swollen on one side.. I thought he had gotten stung by something. My vet always told me to give them a benedryl when they got stung, but he would not even open his mouth and whined when I tried to check it out.
His pupils were so dilated and he was just plain miserable. By morning he was fine, although I kept checking him through the night.
What I found interesting was that the cats knew Beau was in great discomfort and distress and kept trying to softly touch and lick his face, which Beau wanted no parts of!
I have decided the goofball tried to eat a Toad! I have a lot of toads in my yard, large and small ones. I see them every night with my head lamp when I go give Blue his last feeding for the night.
I am hoping Beau has learned his lesson and will not try to eat another toad!
Needless to say, I was quite tired Wednesday. Had to take a nap.

COMMENTARY FOR MATTHEW 11:29
Christ’s preaching. (1) Christ’s answer to John’s disciples. (2-6) Christ’s testimony to John the Baptist. (7-15) The perverseness of the Jews. (16-24) The gospel revealed to the simple. The heavy-laden invited. (25-30)1 Our Divine Redeemer never was weary of his labour of love; and we should not be weary of well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
25-30 It becomes children to be grateful. When we come to God as a Father, we must remember that he is Lord of heaven and earth, which obliges us to come to him with reverence as to the sovereign Lord of all; yet with confidence, as one able to defend us from evil, and to supply us with all good. Our blessed Lord added a remarkable declaration, that the Father had delivered into his hands all power, authority, and judgment. We are indebted to Christ for all the revelation we have of God the Father’s will and love, ever since Adam sinned. Our Saviour has invited all that labour and are heavy-laden, to come unto him. In some senses all men are so. Worldly men burden themselves with fruitless cares for wealth and honours; the gay and the sensual labour in pursuit of pleasures; the slave of Satan and his own lusts, is the merest drudge on earth. Those who labour to establish their own righteousness also labour in vain. The convinced sinner is heavy-laden with guilt and terror; and the tempted and afflicted believer has labours and burdens. Christ invites all to come to him for rest to their souls. He alone gives this invitation; men come to him, when, feeling their guilt and misery, and believing his love and power to help, they seek him in fervent prayer. Thus it is the duty and interest of weary and heavy-laden sinners, to come to Jesus Christ. This is the gospel call; Whoever will, let him come. All who thus come will receive rest as Christ’s gift, and obtain peace and comfort in their hearts. But in coming to him they must take his yoke, and submit to his authority. They must learn of him all things, as to their comfort and obedience. He accepts the willing servant, however imperfect the services. Here we may find rest for our souls, and here only. Nor need we fear his yoke. His commandments are holy, just, and good. It requires self-denial, and exposes to difficulties, but this is abundantly repaid, even in this world, by inward peace and joy. It is a yoke that is lined with love. So powerful are the assistances he gives us, so suitable the encouragements, and so strong the consolations to be found in the way of duty, that we may truly say, it is a yoke of pleasantness. The way of duty is the way of rest. The truths Christ teaches are such as we may venture our souls upon. Such is the Redeemer’s mercy; and why should the labouring and burdened sinner seek for rest from any other quarter? Let us come to him daily, for deliverance from wrath and guilt, from sin and Satan, from all our cares, fears, and sorrows. But forced obedience, far from being easy and light, is a heavy burden. In vain do we draw near to Jesus with our lips, while the heart is far from him. Then come to Jesus to find rest for your souls.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

I’ll keep this brief. You know me… it is hard to be brief. (OK – so it didn’t end up brief – I’m sorry.)
#1: (yes, there’s more than one!) Yesterday, I was terminated from my job for being a whistleblower to a major systemic issue I found with their I-9 compliance. I recommended the best market practice of full remediation audit. This should have been done well before my employment there. They admitted prior knowledge of it up to four years ago – but none fixed it.
There were 25 non-compliances and likely more as I had not fully audited all the records yet. There are very specific elementary education details in the world of Human Resources that were totally disregarded, time frames, requirements of an HR officer of the company. I did not onboard, so that wasn’t in my wheelhouse.
I do believe I was terminated so they can try to “scape goat” me on it. I am the fourth person in my role in 2 years. Ironically, they terminated me after I ran a $100,000 A/P check run. You’d think if I was a rogue employee – they wouldn’t let me handle financial matters.
There are other things here that I am not privy to discuss openly. I must seek counsel for wrongful termination and to protect my reputation. The woman who owns this is a tender widow of one year. It was her husband’s company and I fear that her mourning, and her lack of business knowledge, is clouding her judgement – or worse – she’s being kept in the dark by “friends” who are not friends and who are mismanaging her business. I mentioned in my “final stand” that I took an oath to God to protect widows and orphans – at whatever risk to me. I still stand by that. My rewards are in Heaven – not here.
#2: I happened to go online and check Savannah’s cell phone that I pay for. There was no activity since May 25th. No incoming / no outbound. Naturally, I got very scared.
I contacted the police. Had to be IMPD since her last known whereabouts were the shelter in downtown Indy. I requested a wellness check or to file a missing person’s report. The police officer chastised me that if I filed a missing persons and they determined that Savannah didn’t want to be found – that they charge me with harassment.
Our friend, Margaret, who had been able to track her in the past on social media – remembered that Savannah changed her online name. She searched – found her – but it’s not good. She fell into a gang of thugs who seem to be impregnating young women – I mean young – one looked under 16. I really had to pause before I typed this – Savannah was one of them and she’s holding a positive pregnancy test to her forehead like a Tik Tok challenge.
Through the online social media account – Margaret saw where these kids had gone to Dallas, Texas but Savannah appeared to be back in Indiana again. Savannah is with her “husband” and her “wife” – surrogate baby? I have no idea – but it sounds like Crystal “the wife” is or was very recently also pregnant.
I called the last two active numbers on Savannah’s phone list. Got a hold of some guy and I demanded a proof of life for my daughter. He yelled to her then he hung up on me. Then I got another call, from the woman yelling at me for calling her husband. While on phone with her – the husband called again and left an angry message telling me to “never call my daughter again. She doesn’t want to talk to you. You know who this is, bitch!” Well, no…. I don’t know who it is.
With the woman, I demanded proof of life. I demanded to know if she was pregnant (yes) and if she was receiving medical care (supposedly with Crystal’s doctor of a year – which leads me to think she was too pregnant or still is). I asked if Savannah was taking pre-natal vitamins to take care of the baby – Crystal shouts to her “Savannah you taking your meds” – I hear Savannah – totally broken emotionally in the background – yelling at me to “leave me alone! You controlled me all my life, Mom!” Savannah had mumbled something about PTSD – she had a shreeking quality to her voice.
She’s not well, and I know her – she won’t take pre-natals. She never would take her vitamins our doctor prescribed to her – not because she was obstinate – she was a really good kid – she just didn’t like taking pills which is why we opted for L-Theanine and caffeine over controlled substances for her ADHD. Savannah doesn’t have her eyeglasses according to the media photos we saw. I’m wondering how she’s coping not being able to see well.
Last night, talking with Margaret – Margaret asked me who the military guy was my daughter posted on her media account. Margaret thought it was an actor in a movie and wondered the significance of such. It was a picture of my father – Savannah’s granddad. Savannah must have been able to find it in a cloud account from her phone. She called my dad her guardian angel.
She would be delivering this baby during the winter here.

The apartment remodel is still not done. I feel like my life is fallen apart and the walls are closing in. I cannot afford to sustain all this and keep the apartment – but I fear leaving here in case Savannah ever tries to find me again and the apartment itself is a good apartment with space needed should she need my help – but in some ways – I’m not sure I can do this. I’m worried the baby won’t make it. I’m worried if it does make it. If I’m being fully honest.
This is the worst pressure I’ve ever been under. I can say that I’m not certain how I remain standing – but I am 100% certain – it’s ONLY GOD getting me through this. I’m wondering where my “breaking point” is and what that looks like. Will I wake one day and my legs won’t work beneath me? I’m trying to hold things together and the demons are doing a full court press.
I attended church for the first time last Sunday – it was so far away about 45 minutes – but it was good to be in the assembly of people again. But who can I tell this story to? It’s a novel and too heavy to carry – too heavy for the newly acquainted.
I loved my job. I was really good at it. (Too good apparently – because I couldn’t help but “find things.”) The crews loved me and I enjoyed the industry. The software was really bad – but I feel that may have been “by design”. I needed my job for stability and my health insurance. (As God reminds me – He Is my Stability!)
I fear to say, “What’s next?” I pray Jesus, come quickly!!! Please come back and deliver us from evil for good! This injustice, this cruelty, the attacks – they cannot stand. Your people who love You and who obey You, need You! Please Lord Jesus, come! Deliver us from all wickedness and grant us peace everlasting in Your Presence. In Jesus’s Holy and Saving Name, AMEN.

Yesterday I finally got my air compressor installed the way I want it.
Today I bought and installed hanging brackets for my extra length of air hose and my extension cords so I finally got those off the concrete under my work bench.
I have boxes of fasteners to sort and stow yet and plenty of other stuff to organize in the garage, but tomorrow I will kill moles and weed wack before it gets into the heat of the day and then get back into the garage and do some more organizing.

Evening Prayer For Forgiveness
Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.
Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.

Evening Prayer For Future Guidance
Heavenly Father, as I lie down to sleep tonight, I pray that You would guard my sleeping and protect my mind from wandering thoughts and unnecessary planning. Teach me to wait for Your perfect timing and not to try to plan my future in my own strength.
Lord, I know that You have scheduled every day of my life. Help me to trust You in all things and rely on You to lead me along the straight path and guide me in the direction that You would have me to go.
Give me patience to wait for Your perfect timing, and may I not trust in my own abilities and scheming, but rather rest in Your love and trust my future into Your hands.
And so now Lord, I commit this night to you, asking that I would rest soundly and wake refreshed and strong to do Your bidding. This I ask in Jesus’ precious name,

Prayer Of Thanksgiving In The Evening
Praise Your holy name Heavenly Father, for granting yet another day in my life and for being with me every step of the way. Thank You for the many blessings that You have provided and the love and fellowship that I have with the friends and family that in Your grace You have placed in my life.
My heart is so thankful for all the many blessings that I enjoy day by day, and today I am once again reminded that Your mercies are new every morning and Your faithfulness endures from generation to generation.
Thank You, that I have been brought into Your family and have been made a child of God and a citizen of heaven. Words cannot express my love and devotion to You Lord
I pray that You would watch over me as I rest tonight, and that You would give me a restful nights sleep so that I may wake up in the morning refreshed in body and spirit and ready to do Your will. Guard all those that I love and may we all grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ in the days that lie ahead. This I ask in His precious name,
