If the Strait of Hormuz had truly been closed to the extent commonly portrayed, and if a major share
of world oil supply had actually been removed for roughly three months, the observable
consequences should likely be far more severe than they appear today. One would expect major
inventory depletion, aggressive country-level hoarding and competition for supply, refinery
cutbacks, fuel shortages, much higher sustained oil prices, and broader economic disruption.
Furthermore, even if Hormuz reopened tomorrow, global oil logistics would take months to
rebalance. The apparent mismatch between the claimed scale and duration of the disruption and
the relatively modest impact on everyday economic activity suggests that at least one of the
commonly stated assumptions is incomplete, overstated, or misunderstood—or that the situation is
being used to support economic or market narratives that disproportionately benefit entrenched
interests and major market participants. The behavior of governments, markets, and consumers
does not appear consistent with the idea that the world has been living for three months with a
sustained loss of an irreplaceable fraction of its oil supply. If the disruption were as severe as many
descriptions imply, one would normally expect more visible signs of strain in pricing, inventories,
industrial activity, and government responses than have been observed.
That would be the American view. Elsewhere the shortages are real. Many Asia countries are getting oil from Russia. We are asked to conserve energy as much as possible. Rotating blackouts are in effect.
Give it a few more weeks. The US reserve oil stocks are getting low. Something will have to give.
The difference is that USA is a net exporter of oil. The dynamics of the 1970’s no longer exist.
Yes but there is the question of refining. For whatever reasons the US does not have a lot of refineries that can refine the Texas sweet crude. They are coming though.
Gas price is down this AM in SW Ohio. Hope it continues.

Such a disparity – Truth vs. Lies/Distortions/Half-Truths – is typical of Communist societies.
Perhaps we have not sufficiently appreciated that America has been gradually transforming into a Communist society since at least 1932, if not earlier in the century via the “Progressive Movement.”
True Conservatives, now with the MAGA movement, have been the only Resistance Movement and have been in general unable to prevent the insidious transformation, which has been obvious to us for decades, but is only just now becoming obvious to more people than ever before.
Like the legendary frog in water being slowly heated up, we are perhaps recognizing that the water is almost at boiling point!
