Senator Josh Hawley called the U.S. Senate’s pro forma session to order on Tuesday, May 26, 2026
No business was conducted during the brief meeting, which was held to prevent the President from calling a recess appointment while the Senate was technically in session. (They are on vaca.)

Thune obstructing Trump’s authority to make recess appoints even as Thune refuses to move nominations is beyond despicable.

I am asking an honest question because I do not know the answer.
How would a Senator (in this case Hawley) go about it if they wished to pushed back against Thune and allow the President to make recess appointments? Would they simply have to show up, as assigned, and then, without any prior announcement (except maybe to the White House so they would be ready to go) just NOT call the Senate to order?
Does Thune only select people to perform this task that he knows will follow through and do his bidding or is it just done on a rotating basic? Are there NO Senators that have the cojones to stand up to the machine? Does leadership have dirt on ALL of them?

These arrogant Establishment incumbents feel like they are basically immune to accountability. They can say and do whatever serves their interest and expect to be reelected.
It is OBVIOUS to conservative voters that the Establishment UniParty RINOs have resisted the MAGA, America First policies and President Trump’s presidency. They do this and EXPECT to be reelected.
I remember after the 2020 election when President Trump said the election was corrupted and stolen. Many so called Republicans said it was a fair election and Biden won. They said this after the evidence of corruption was being shown and whistleblowers were coming out about the corruption they had seen. They wouldn’t even say that Trump may have a point and the evidence should be investigated.
Then after J6 the so called Republicans came out stronger against President Trump that he was inciting an insurrection. Biden won a fair election!
So they said all this stuff and expect us to forget-Cornyn, Roy, Thune, McConnell, Graham, Cruz, and so many others. They are just arrogant and feel privileged that they can say and do anything they want, Massie, and not have to be accountable.
President Trump has brought out the true nature of these Establishment self-serving sleazes.
