I never saw it working in over 50, because it was never safe to be in there. Meridian Hill probably died as a public spot right about when it got renamed Malcolm X Park, in the 60’s or 70’s, and became a druggie and homeless spot, tbh.
It’s funny how it feels to have something that was so wrong for so long get fixed, and then you wonder why we allowed this state of affairs to continue for decades, as if it was just the way things had to be.
It didn’t have to be that way.

Wow, I never saw this area in all the times we were in DC. It’s just wonderful. What a shame it’s been neglected all these years. Our great President has really done a terrific job restoring the capitol city and making it beautiful again. I hope they put some flowering pots or gardens with flowers around it at some points. Those steps just seem like such great areas for some color and greenery.

There are many people, especially in younger generations, who have a seething hatred of AI and everything that comes along with it. AI-generated engagement slop flooding youtube so 3rd worlders can enrich themselves, chatGPT posts by Indian/Nigerian blue checkmark accounts on twitter pretending to be from the West, and AI moderation permanently banning people off of media platforms for imagined crimes are only a few of the issues. AI is nothing more than a tool for governments to further suppress those who speak against it, and a tool for WEF billionaires to increase their profit margins at the expense of the working class.
Those centers are not community friendly at all. What Hochul is doing with them in NY is highly suspect. She’s looking to grab a as much money as she can from them and in the meantime has okayed increases in the electric rates for all consumers with increases that are extreme in order to be able to have enough to pay for the infrastructure upgrades needed to run those centers. Then there’s the problem of what they do to the water resources in communities. That’s another not very nice story. They also emit a hum that is constant and can be heard quite easily near them.
. People are getting wiped out from not being able to pay their electric bills that have risen insanely high and are still going up. Shutoffs in homes are happening all over the state for inability to pay bills. People are reporting using generators daily to help cut their bills. Natural gas is being given similar treatment but not quite a quickly or as much.
She and her green NYS policies that she was told to implement when she was elected are literally wiping this state out. The people getting rich from it all don’t care what happens to the people who live there. AI centers are certainly NOT places that help communities they reside in.

These anchor babies can never be considered natural born citizens because their parents were not citizens of America when the children were born here. They are at the moment native born citizens. If the definition is being changed for these anchor babies then it should be challenged quite intensely because these babies do not meet the criteria of NBC.
Many of these kids are probably dual citizens also from birth, if their parents homeland gives automatic citizenship to children of citizens of their country. That should be a disqualifier for running for elected office in America. If they want to run for office then there should be mandatory requirements that the kids live as adults for many years in America before they are allowed to run and have given up their dual citizenship immediately upon turning 18.
This is nuts to give these anchor babies who have never lived in America complete rights as citizens here and they can never be called natural born citizens unless the Constitution is changed to accommodate them. That would open the door for the likes of Mamdani and others like him to be able to run for P and VP. Hopefully, that never happens.
The SC is going to be called upon to finally settle both the anchor baby issue and the 16th amendment intent and to finally define what a natural born citizen actually consists of. We have three classes of citizen as defined, NBC-the only type that can run for P and VP, native born and naturalized. They all need clear definitions and it should be done very very carefully because of the repercussions that will come from them finally being constitutionally defined by the court.

After I found out they had installed the new meter, I inquired on having it replaced with the old one. They also told me it would be a monthly charge.

Been happening in WNY for awhile now. I was told you can refuse them but they still install a new meter which is digital but not a smart meter and that eventually it will be mandatory that all meters be smart meters. Not sure if that is true or not. We are refusing the smart meter. You also have to pay extra to have a regular meter and a monthly fee is tagged onto your bill for it too.
Their excuse for the extra charge is because they have to read the meters manually if they’re not smart meters which can be read at their company offices. It’s b.s. because they currently cruise down streets and read them from vans with equipment to do so and have been doing it this way for years. No person has to walk to your house and read them like the old days.
Imo, It’s a big scam that NYS cooked up with the energy companies who are owned by foreign companies no less, to gain control over the meters and energy to your homes and provide themselves with easy ways to gain more dollars. The state gets some piece of this pie too along with over seeing the control when they want to.
These were installed in my area in southern Wisconsin about 10 years or so ago. My research reveals they are to weigh, that is they could be controlled from the power company or another source. Use too much heat, well they will lower your thermostat for you.

The mid-term of 1934 mentioned here where the sitting party of Dems gained seats was not due to FDR’s pro American policy, but rather to him being made in effect a dictator through his first 100 days, and the Smedley Butler false flag operation.
First, he was given the control of nearly 100 billion of today’s dollars through the laws passed in his first hundred days, which he then promptly used not to better America, but to buy loyalty, and he knew where to spend the money to get the biggest bang for his buck.
Smedley Butler was approached by a group of businessmen to lead a fascist coup and remove FDR; in reality this would be like getting Valerie Jarrett to remove Obama. Butler was all in on FDR as he had campaigned for him with his ‘war is a racket’ message and was an American patriot who would obviously not be behind a fascist coup, you would have to be an absolute idiot to try to use him in your plot to overthrow the American government.
In reality, the business men and FDR were playing for the same side, although FDR was too naive to know better; the Smedley Butler psyop was designed to legitimize FDR as the defender of the common man, after he literally pilfered all of American’s privately owned gold for the bankers. The story gradually built up steam and came to a head right before the mid-terms, with Butler testifying before HUAC shortly after the elections in November of 1934.
The only reason that FDR was selected by the bankers was his infatuation with fascism and his absolute desire for a one world government, as evinced by his earlier support of the League of Nations; they knew he would be all in on it successor the UN, which was the main goal of the bankers in fomenting WWII.
Well I can add another quibble: I am so sick of people discussing “mass immigration” when what they are really referring to is an invasion.
Every time the Divider-in-Chief pontificated “this is not who we are” I knew that who we had become, after 70 years of grooming not to be racist, was a peoples too stupid to recognize an outright invasion.

I am a long time follower here and seldom post, but I have an issue that is on my heart that I believe is important. I live in the Ohio River Valley which Vivek Ramaswamy has desigated as the new “Silicon Valley”. We are a rural county, and we moved here to escape the city in 1992. We have lived here peacefully, enjoying the beautiful environment and Christian atmosphere (there seems to be a Church on every corner of my little town). We have in the past few months been overtaken by the overwhelming coming of huge Data Centers…unaware because of local politicians signing NDAs until things were well on there way.
If politics is local…there is nothing more alarming than having our electric bills double from a year ago with no end in sight. Add that to the environmental damage of air, water, noise pollution and destruction of our beautiful River Valley. This is largely a Republican county and Trump and MAGA have been big here. However, this data center issue could be enough to turn the Mid-terms into a blood-bath for Trump and his plans.
This is now a nationwide issue! Many states are now in an uproar over the extreme measures used to push the data centers on what had been an unsuspecting public. Democrats must be salivating at the possiblity of using this issue to upset Trump’s plans. I don’t want to see that happen. Too much is at stake.
At present I feel I have no one to vote for Governor in Ohio. Ramaswamy is an anchor baby and a known fraudster and Democrat Amy Acton was in on the COVID lockdown! I come from a generational Republican background, but I am looking into a Liberarian candidate! In the meantime our local county government is in an uproar and longtime Republicans who serve us are being looked at with side-eyes.
The sad thing is these destructive Data Centers will soon be abandoned for new and better sources to supply electric and our Ohio River Valley will be left with the scars of a garbage dump of Data Centers gone dark.

Data centers, and the highly visible long-term costs these centers impose on the communities where they are to be located, are a potent issue for Democrats to latch onto in the 2026 mid-terms.
Voters are well enough informed to know that the short-term employment these data centers provide during their construction are hugely offset by the long-term job losses AI technology will cause.
And these data centers are typically developed and built by out-of-town companies that specialize in building these monstrosities. They don’t usually provide any long term, meaningful employment. The only people that really benefit are the government officials and town councils that recruit them and approve them, often secretly.
Can someone detail the “long term costs” associated with data centers?
Less available jobs due to replacement by faulty-yet-cheap AI bullcrap, though incompetent-yet-cheap H1B has already done a large amount of harm on the relevant industries. Likely higher utility bills due to the increase in demand on the local grid.
That giant sucking sound is money out of your pocket paying for new infrastructures, like additional fire fighting equipment, gargantuan water usage which may come from drilling their own wells or tapping city. When getting approvals they may not be required to estimate water usage. Surrounding lakes, rivers could be severely depleted.
There is no reason we should pay increased electrical bills to subsidize data centers which are probably collecting our personal data.
If they use large amounts of water and electricity they should bear the burden of increased utilities.

And if I may — your post seems to conflate power generation centers with data centers. The latter USE power and are NOT pollution sources. That said — they require lots of power, and the new and expanded electricity generating facilities to supply that power will pollute, depending on what type of power generation is used. Coal would be worst, followed by nat gas and then nuclear. I’m presuming there is no geothermal or hydro possibilities 🙂
