Appearing on MSNBC to talk to Lawfare ally Nicole Wallace, wife of New York Times narrative engineer Michael Schmidt – the guy who received leaks from FBI Director James Comey via Daniel Richman, former CIA Director John Brennan notes there are “legions” of operatives still embedded within the DOJ, FBI and CIA who are working against President Donald Trump.
This is not a surprise as we have noted the Trump administration continues to take apart the tentacles of Lawfare and Intelligence operatives in Main Justice, various U.S. Attorney offices, FBI Headquarters, FBI field offices and various Intelligence Community silos.
Marco Rubio has been working to clean up the National Security Council as well as the State Department operations, including USAID. Tulsi Gabbard and John Ratcliffe have been working on the NSA and CIA collaboratively, and Todd Blanche has been working through the Dept of Justice. FBI Director Kash Patel has removed about ten percent of the problem in his agency.

The core problem goes back to what we outlined on these pages {GO DEEP} and is not limited to those operatives who remain from the Obama/Biden era. Some of the problems surface as a result of ‘republican’ voices recommending “sleeper cell” staff and sketchy personnel for positions in the administration. [I’ll put an example below]
One way to tell if the agency head or leader understands the challenge is by paying attention to how they talk about the agency’s mission objective.
Leaders like Marco Rubio and Tulsi Gabbard have openly acknowledged the problem and are actively tackling corruption within their ranks. Even John Ratcliffe has admitted his agency was politically weaponized and has taken steps to address it. There’s still a lot of work ahead, but their actions show visible progress.
People like Pam Bondi and Kash Patel have praised the institutional embeds without drawing attention to the corruption beneath them. Thankfully, Acting AG Todd Blanche seems to be taking a more confrontational approach internally, so maybe Kash Patel will follow suit. This isn’t about style—it’s about results, and there’s an urgent need for action.
To give an example of “sketchy” recommendations and predictable outcomes, I would draw attention to the lesser visible appointment of Morgan Ortagus. Do you remember this very weirdly worded announcement, two weeks prior to the inauguration?

There were always three options for “them”: (1) the strong republican support people; or (2) people in the Middle East who would be dealing with her; or (3) Stephen Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Regardless, of who “them” was, it was obvious President Trump was not thrilled by “their” request.
Mrs. Morgan Ortagus is a long time Deep State operative with roots in the U.S. intelligence community and USAID {citation}. It was very predictable that she would undermine the goals of President Trump and she only lasted six months in the job. Ortagus was quietly dispatched from her position in June 2025.
CTH predicted {SEE HERE} Mrs. Ortagus would be a big mistake because she was, quite frankly, one of the “legion” insiders referenced by former CIA Director John Brennan. Ortagus’s entire career profile was/is textbook intelligence operative, likely legacy CIA.
Not coincidentally, former National Security Advisor Mike Waltz was removed from his position only a month before Ortagus lost hers.
On the day he was announced CTH said National Security Advisor Mike Waltz would be the first administration member to get the boot, because in the non-pretending world Waltz was a horrible choice just like Ortagus. Mike Waltz was removed as National Security Advisor in May 2025, {citation} Ortagus was removed as Middle East envoy in June {citation}.
If the goal was to eliminate the Deep State, President Trump couldn’t take on a deeply corrupt Intelligence Community while also appointing its allies. Their close ties to the Intelligence Community made the failures of both Waltz and Ortagus predictable.
That said, behind the veneer of John Brennan’s statement on MSNBC is a guy who realizes the Trump administration has changed the dynamic and the agency systems Brennan is talking about no longer exist; at least they no longer have the same capabilities.
The need for control is a reaction to fear, and Brennan’s fear is both visible and very well founded.
The DOJ and FBI operate under the influence of the Intelligence Community, which ultimately holds the reins. The key figures leading the IC have made changes to the institutions that have significantly reduced the impact of bad actors within the DOJ and FBI.
The key positions are the National Security Advisor, the Secretary of State, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Marco Rubio, Tulsi Gabbard and John Ratcliffe are the people to watch, and we can tell by the counsel(s) they have put into place that each of them has clear eyes and a steady hand on those critical institutions.
Since mid-year 2025, around the same time Waltz and Ortagus were dispatched, you will note significant changes began surfacing in the National Security Council, the State Dept, the DNI and importantly the CIA. Some of the changes make headlines, many do not; however, each is important and builds on a larger goal of dismantling a highly weaponized and political intelligence apparatus.
Internationally, what we see in the reaction of allied -or oppositional- governments and their intelligence agencies, is in large part a geopolitical reaction to the consequential changes being made by Rubio, Gabbard and Ratcliffe. Each building upon a system that fundamentally changes U.S. policy to be in alignment with President Trump. Each of them should be commended.
Domestically, the accountability developments involving James Comey, John Brennan, John Bolton, Michael Atkinson, Eric Ciaramella and others yet to emerge, stem from the transparency brought by the same trio working upstream from Main Justice and the FBI. The combined intelligence apparatus of the U.S. can cut through the chaff and countermeasures of Lawfare operatives, and I feel optimistic watching them in action.
Again, it’s not just the silo heads that are making a positive impact, it is the personnel decisions they are surrounding themselves with. The amount of sunlight now coming over the horizon is toxic to the interests of those who organized shadow operations.
As long as Rubio, Ratcliffe and especially Gabbard, keep pushing the truth to the surface; as long as they keep exposing all the corruption that was used to manipulate and weaponize our government; as long as they keep strategizing on ways to declassify evidence former officials buried under false pretenses; then the DOJ, FBI and more importantly We The People, will have information we can use to make decisions.
Ultimately, it is the truth which makes evil enterprise retreat.
Wallace hit the deep-state daily double yesterday, hosting Brennan and doing a long interview with Comey on her “news” program. Interesting to note she seemed obsessed with asking Comey if he thought there’d be another indictment coming his way — she brought this up three times during the course of the interview. I think it’s obvious she fears the classified leaking charges are next which will literally hit home for Wallace via her husband Mike who’ll be named as a material witness and co-conspirator — unindicted or otherwise.

Wallace is running a deep-state operation out of her studio at MS NOW. She regularly hosts all the anti-Trump operatives: Comey, Brennan, Weissmann, Mary McCord, Marc Elias. Yesterday she hosted Norm Eisen.
In fact Wallace is an operative herself. Unlike a journalist who reports news, Wallace constantly calls for action against her political opponents. Note the phrasing of her question for Brennan: typical “what can be done to get them?” fare for Wallace who calls for resistance or explores ways of conducting lawfare.
On top of that she hosts her husband Mike Schmidt to assist with his anti-Trump narrative engineering. The action is non-stop.
Don’t overlook Wallace who’s just as involved in these seditious antics as the other operatives. She’s the snake in the grass who needs to face accountability with the rest of them.

No one is surprised by this, and it’s hardly a revelation. When we characterized the whole Establishment as a “Swamp” and a “Deep State,” we weren’t just being flip. Well, let me add I believe there are many more deep state operatives who are “at” the DOJ, FBI, CIA, and NSA, etc. than people realize when “at” is very loosely defined. As the alphabets like it to be.
I use Edwin Paul Wilson as an example.
Merchant Marine, then Marine, then CIA field operative. then retired from the CIA to work for a clandestine Naval Intelligence field operation, and so on.
He was Bold, Effective, Connected, Successful, Bigger than Life. And under some certain story lines, an American Hero. He was willing and able to do the dirty work “asked for by his government”. Unofficially. And in the end was a useful fall guy when he became too independent.
Because as he became more and more successful working for the CIA, the ability to connect him directly to the CIA and doing their bidding became more and more difficult. The CIA needed and wanted him to look as independent as possible. That was on purpose. Because if things went wrong – Plausible Deniability.
And when things did go wrong in the end, the CIA cut him loose, and lied at his trial via an “affidavit” saying he did not work for them.
“Affidavit” and “CIA” in the same sentence should alert any reader something shady is going on.
After many years of FOIA requests and only finally via a former CIA officer turned lawyer did the following come out –
“Adler spent long hours poring through thousands of files and eventually found 80 incidents where Wilson met on a professional basis with the CIA and proof that the CIA had indirectly used Wilson after his retirement.

Imagine that.
So I believe there are many Ed Wilsons still out there today. “At” the CIA only via a deliberately obfuscated connection with a handler. Maybe trained by the CIA or other Intelligence Agency. But/And now very capable and independent. Self funded and even running profitable ventures for the CIA. This is what they were trained to do. Available if called upon by their handler.
There is no paper trails for these guys. And I am not sure how they are brought under the “control” of the heads of the respective agencies. They are not looking for positions at Langley. The CIA views them as a resource and creates more of the every year.
To close, I think Brennan may believe a lot of these agents (loosely defined) hold allegiance to him and not to the US government. They are only available if you know where to find them.

I have lived in the DC area for 47 years and the Federal Government is still pretty much totally infiltrated with Democrats and most of the Republicans are not on our side. The IC and DOJ are especially totally infiltrated. MAGA America First is probably less than a 1 or 2 % of the Federal Government. I rarely even set foot in DC it so much turns my stomach. By the way Contractors are only slightly better. Same with U.S. Military working in the DC area. Unfortunately I live amongst these people. I live less than a quarter mile from a major NSA location.

I used to be a Ratcliffe fan until SD brought to our attention recently about why didn’t Ratcliffe bring the whistleblower identify intel to the public when he could have? I used to be doubtful of lil Marco as well but his actions so far have been proven he has seen the light. Until I see some proof from Ratcliffe I will remain skeptical.

I am suspect of Ratcliffe too and I have mentioned it in other posts. All these Intelligence agencies were never part of the Founding. I know Intelligence is needed but the size and scope is way out of control, bordering on a Police State level. The type of people I see walking to lunch from the massive NSA complex near my house don’t give me a MAGA America First impression. 🙂

I totally agree. As I posted in this thread (and others) i have lived in the DC area for 47 years. I know how deep the Communist Dems have infiltrated the Federal Government, Federal Government Contractors and to a lesser degree the Military (worse in the DC area). And most of the Republicans are not on our side. I am not sure how to solve this problem other than drastically reducing the size and power of the Federal Government. There has been some reduction in size but not close to what is needed. The Federal Government remains way too powerful.

I’ll say it again. Create a new division under the US Marshal service called domestic investigation group. Dissolve the FBI and transfer all their cases to this new US Marshal group. Allow the US Marshals to interview and higher former FBI agents with less than 5 years experience to support the new division.
This is the only way to fix the corruption within the FBI.

Any employee engaged in sabotage, subversion and/or sedition (conduct or speech inciting rebellion against the authority of a state or leader), needs to be arrested and charged, not just removed from their position.

I am not here to disagree, but I do not share the idea that the CIA no longer has the same capabilities.
I hold the opinion that the capabilities are unchanged…regardless that certain leadership heads have been removed “officially”.
I will draw from several facts to support that we should not hold an opinion that the CIA has changed, or will change.
a. not one single agency official or contractor have been charged with a serious crime, or even been indicted…Russia Russia hoax was formed by the CIA. it directly fueled and promoted the false and manufactured series of criminal conspiracies to repeatedly make claims that Russia not only interfered in the election, but that President Trump is a putin bootlicker and puppet…and is compromised…all of this was false and yet not one single official or contractor who conjured up these lies have been made accountable for the crimes. The CIA remains unchallenged…
b. funding and section 702. Both have been granted by congress. This isn’t trivial. it means congress has no plans to scale back the covert and unconstitutional powers given to the agency to do whatever, whenever, and for any particular reason (or not). This not only does not inspire confidence that this secret police spy state is being regulated and held to a higher standard, but is exactly the opposite
c. While some people have been removed, the institutional structure and culture remains the same. Unelected people with enormous power and influence who are not held to any transparent accountability…Almost everything that is serious with serious consequences is performed in the shadows and this has proven to be a recipe for disaster. For example…no one really knows if the CIA is active in surveillance and other operations domestically, in the USA, against American Citizens. We don’t know and that does not inspire confidence. We DO KNOW that millions of records have been unlawfully collected queried and used for purposes that no one in Congress or even the DOJ has any interest in pursuing criminal violations. What we have been told is that this was the activities of the FBI and DOJ…but it most certainly would have involved the CIA. So you see the problem…there are no serious lines between the agency and the Department of Justice who would be responsible for prosecuting violations. they are ALL DOING IT…and there is no reason to believe any of that has stopped …none. A serious reading and understanding of the section 702 renewal realizes that whether OR NOT Congress did in fact renew this authority, the fact is that the authority exist and remains in place until 2027!!! a full year, built into prior renewals that no one seems to want to talk about. So Congress can (big if) put the program on pause but by the same law agencies can continue using the authority for a full year forward. insane. Likewise, agencies are not required to report to Congress for 180 days after they begin a collection/fisa warrant. And even then, only if the collection continues, they do not have to report…so there is essentially no oversight. none.
d. companies LIKE PALANTIR, sell privately collected intelligence grade data, not merely meta data, to all spy agencies, primarily to the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security and Border Patrol and to our military command. This is not new, but it should make everyone who cares about privacy AND security to be very uncomfortable. Because this means that companies like palantir are not required to go through any kinds of regulatory restrictions or legal limits to collect information…it get sold and they pay for it and then sell it in a intelligence curated form to whatever agency wants it. This is the loophole that is used to spy on citizens on US soil. And no one seems to give a shit or wakeup to what is happening here…right now.
so my point is that while some CIA officials have been removed from office, from a clear objective evaluation, the agencies have not changed. In fact, we would be correct that the agencies power and influence has expanded dramatically.
this is solely my own opinion based on what I understand. I would be willing to read facts that prove otherwise, but based on what I can know and understand..the CIA is more powerful than ever before. Just the leadership people have changed.
remember: the CIA knows the origins and facts of the Wuhan lab and the bioweapons program initiated there to create a super bug. And yet, to this very day, the CIA is mums about reporting the facts. Why? Who does the CIA really serve? It would appear they serve the interests of creating black hole operations. And in doing so, will make the world much less safe.
