Compare that with what Americans have been told.

Hegseth at his Pentagon news conference April 8: Operation Epic Fury “decimated Iran’s military and rendered it combat-ineffective for years to come.”
The intelligence describing Iran’s current capabilities is dated less than a month after that briefing.
For Trump heading to Beijing tonight, this is brutal context.
He arrives at the summit with the war on “massive life support,” American gas prices climbing, $29 billion already spent, munitions stockpiles depleted, and now reports that the central military objective of Operation Epic Fury was largely not achieved.
Xi will be reading the same intelligence assessments.

I feel confident there are layers and layers of awkward reactions and confrontations both with China but also in exposed interactions and influences that occur in the meeting. President Trump is not stupid. He is not naive.
These are top henchmen in massive financial empires that have major influence in products and services that are performed as well as determining what is produced and sold to whom.
I suspect he is asking questions between them causing awkward exposures or revealing to them all what he knows. He’s putting all their backdoor deals out in the sunlight, forcing them to acknowledge and display their greed with each other.
There is not much difference in the mixture of greed and disregard of individual human beings between China and the rest of these corporate cartels.
He’s forcing them to declare their public missions and visions and contrasting the actual actions of their operations and the outcomes of their operations. Probably forcing the United states industry leaders to see abuse of human beings in China caused by their “deals” as well as the impact on the citizens of the united states.
He’s bringing their “back door” deals driven by profit, the the social consequences on people and the world, and their conversations about them out for each of them to see.
He’s bringing the domestic enemies of our nation (We the People) and and our international enemies in the same room and holding them all accountable in public for the deals they make and the effect they have on the citizens of both the U.S. as well as their own soil.
Chinas economic advantage is the number of people they have and the degree that they abuse them. He is forcing China to stand there exposed while the corporate executives of our country who represent the majority of Chinas revenue see it.

Only because “Iran can NOT have nuclear weapons” is more important, everything else is secondary. Prices are high because of “fear and speculation” not “supply and demand”.
We are actually a crude oil importer. We are a petroleum net exporter. I’m 47 and have only in the past year been presented with Iran being an issue with nuclear weapons. Ms. Gabbard indicated Iran was not pursuing weapons.
The US is the top crude oil producer in the world. Nearly every data set shows that. Now the US may import crude as some of our refineries are unable to process domestic crude but we are the world’s top crude producer. As for Iran and weapons grade nuclear material, to my recollection, that has been a growing concern since at least Obama, as I’m sure you’ll recall, ‘donated’ pallets of cash for ‘purposes unknown’ to that country.
The last US refinery was built before I was born. So if we as producers export, how does that lower domestic pricing if said domestic crude is unusable domestically? I hate Obama; he unfroze Iranian assets. Looking back, the JCPOA was not that poor of a deal as at least it allowed for inspections. Not a Muslim fan, but this seems to be another example of invade the world, invite the world. Ourselves and Europe would not have the immigration issues if the refugees were not created.
