Some really bad things are going to start happening in Mexico. The fallout from these indictments will be seen outside of Mexico and probably surface all across the southern states of the US. I believe you’re on the right track. Trauma does indeed rewire the synapses in the brain that control the chemistry and all the natural electrical circuits governing belief and behaviour. Addiction is the result of an autonomous attempt to correct the mis-firing. The disordered use of drugs, gambling or sexual behaviours to rebalance the brain’s natural ability to regulate cognitive thinking, emotions and behaviors, at best masks the problem and at worst makes the disordered brain worse.
The bottom line with addiction is that unless the brain is “repaired”, “re-ordered”, restored, the effects of addiction will not heal. Most modern “recovery” disciplines only mask the symptoms and anesthetize the disorder so that a semblance of normal life can be portrayed. The only truly successful recovery from the ravages of addiction is initiated and implemented solely by the Designer and Creator of the human brain.

First responders, Trauma Surgeons, & the Trauma ICU is where the rockefeller system comes closest to getting it right – I’ve said this again & again and I’ve never argued against that bit.
I’ve written here many times about a family member being run over in an intersection on a motorcycle by an SUV… many injuries so yes, pain medication for a time.
I will never *ever* leave a loved one in a hospital alone – and I saw many mistakes and backtracks by the staff while there over those few days; *So Glad* I was there to speak up; several mistakes & stupid protocols would have made things much worse and delayed recovery significantly or indefinitely.
The young man’s condition & recovery progressed rapidly because I/we *began immediately with the notification phone call*; I/we applied many different “alternative” modalities independently of what the allopaths were doing to him; I studied in Holistic Healthcare College and I’ve got many gifted & talented Holistic Professional friends who lent support.
His entire shift of workers came to the hospital the 2nd day and were praying deeply & constantly for him & his entire family; very powerful assistance that.
The “healthcare insurance” would have fully paid for 100% disability for life, which was the expected outcome –
*but nothing at all for the modalities & methods I/we accessed & applied to effect complete healing*.
Long story short, I’m Deeply Grateful to God for having been Guided to study Holistic Healing to learn all that I know about, and that I had it when my Dear One needed help with his injuries (and many other times).

where does the line get drawn. how many people, addicted, families ruined, imprisoned and dead is too many, too few?
there is no magic answer…but we do know this …doing nothing is always going to be a much worse option with far more violent consequences and deaths than trying to flatten the trafficking.
I spent the majority of my career in the USCG in law enforcement. The details don’t matter. But the work was important. And yes, I heard all the reasons why a war on drugs was a failure. But this is the thing and its important even if you can’t quantify it exactly…can’t put a number on it. Here is the math. For a typical load of one ton of cocaine, there are about 2000 overdoses, about 1000 arrests, and about 1900 people who die, either from the drug itself or the violence that is always associated with it. That was in the late 80’s and into the 90’s. Those were the numbers. Could be more, could be less. But that is what our numbers reported. In 1985 alone one single cutter out of Mobile, AL patrolling the sector with Intel and various agencies coordinating drug interdiction operations hauled almost 100 tons of cocaine. How many lives did that save? We can argue correctly that yes, many of these people, users, would just find it another way. But we cannot ignore that it does save lives. It makes the drug more scarce, more expensive, and more difficult to traffic. Now over the years, the amount of cocaine seized is an incredible numbers. And so this drives the suppliers to different routes and means, and also different drugs. Fentanyl being the latest development. Is that a failure of the policies of the war on drugs and shows we should just stop enforcing/ That is a very near sighted perspective. The reality is that we have a moral obligation to not allow drug suppliers to gain so much power that we cannot have any force to impact what they do. And this is really the story being told again. had we done nothing, I can assure you mexico and the Sinaloa cartels would operate without any resistance whatsover. It only looks like failure if you don’t understand that the war on drugs doesn’t have to be perfect and final, but that it controls it to a smaller size that can be defeated and set back strategically when the opportunities present themselves. We owe a great debt to President Trump, who does not drink or do dope. He is clear eyed about protecting the lives of Americans against this scourge. A large part of the reasons why the south American want to run across the border is because they cannot live safe lives and must yield to the corruption of the southern states. The influence and dangers of the cartels have created this environment….with Jesus from chicago and Joe malarkey welcoming them in without actually addressing what is the reasons why they want to leave in the first place.
I am convinced the war on drugs helps make this country safe. It saves lives. It protects societies. Cartels will never be erased, but they can be flattened…and that is the goal. reduction…pressure…reduction. just like any other kind of law enforcement policy…we are never going to catch all the bad guys…but not even trying is a far worst option.

I’ll add one thing to this drug discussion that my son made me aware of this week.
He’s a musician in Austin. We sat down for a BBQ dinner. During our conversation, he said that he knew 6 people that had died of drug overdose, in the past two years.
The cause of death was fentanyl which had been added to the drug of choice. Cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine. Nearly every “recreational” drug is laced with fentanyl.
It is a scourge that indiscriminately kills anyone that ingests a certain amount. That amount can vary.
That is intentional. That is murderously criminal.
Thank you for your service to America. Personally, I can’t see a way we don’t fight to do as much as possible to decrease access to drugs for our youth and make as many drugs as possible less available. We may have already lost many to drugs in the past but we still must fight for the present and the future.

Spent a few weeks of my life on a Federal trial, gang related, Chicago originated.

The basis for the charges is that the Mexicans committed the crime of selling illegal drugs in America. The crime was committed in America America can extradite them on those crimes.
Extradition is very difficult if the country they live in won’t cooperate. Even if it’s an American citizen on a tourist visa the country they’re in might or might not cooperate.
These criminals have lots of money for lawyers. And lots of thugs to threaten Mexican judges in a position to approve or forbid the extradition.
Many countries refuse to extradite to America. Because many countries don’t have the death penalty. But some American states do. Even when the crimes aren’t death penalty offenses. Those holier than thou countries won’t extradite. It all depends on if the Mexican government cooperates under cartel threats of kidnap torture death of family members of the judges and other officials involved..
With Trump, there’s ALWAYS more than one motive. Mexico seemed to be flying under the radar as the good neighbor compared to Canada. Mexico was cooperating and seemingly in a good spot to renegotiate trade. However, Trump doesn’t settle. Its all or nothing. He doesn’t allow trade negotiations that ignore the killing of thousands of Americans annually from the drugs delivered by Mexican Cartels. All or nothing!
I’ve been to 3 funerals of kids under 21 in the last 12 months who’ve died from fentanyl overdose or suicide as a way out of addiction. The recourse is the killing of our youth. Its happening in cities and suburbs all over America.
The new normal. I’m always shocked every time I think of the massive amount of deaths among friends, family and associates that these younger generations endure. Some of the generation before me spent their senior years with the same people they started kindergarten with.

What concerns me the most is the expats in Mexico. When Maduro was captured and there was violence, but things settled down pretty quickly and most of the expats were saying, “See? We are safe in Mexico.” It sounds like there may be a possibility of widespread, very violent, action. Will our government warn the expats to evacuate? Maybe I’m missing something.
