Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

I always believed that God was unhappy with Cain because of the choice of offering, namely “cereal” as opposed to Abel’s “choice lamb”. IE it wasn’t good enough. This is not the case.
God was unhappy with Cain because he did not offer the “choicest” or best of his produce, but rather the “left overs” – after he had gathered for himself – in this case flax seed, which is known to deplete the soil – symbolic of his “casual” attitude towards God. Abel on the other hand offered his best and most valuable (a sacrifice), indicating his understanding and respect that ALL “fruits” come from and belong to God, and as such it is only fitting that the best of “yours” is returned.
“I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.” – Psalm 37:25
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!” – Psalm 100:1-2

Prayers for the safety of Donald Trump. For peace for Melania and those who love him deeply. Prayers of gratitude for him.
Prayers that his team that he is assembling will multiply in number, in effectiveness, and that you, O Lord, will insert a hand of justice through the laws of this land which were inspired by your precepts — and bring effectiveness in their work. Bring the power of your change and your principles home to this nation founded imperfectly on your principles. Help President Trump, those working with him, and our enemies to be humbled before your righteousness and power.
Bring your enemies out in the open. Expose them. Help us call them out and be an agent of your justice.
Father, we ask that you move powerfully over this land and affect every heart. Help us know you and your might and power that we might all daily humble ourselves before you, and be strengthened to speak and act with wisdom and effectiveness to do your will.
Bless us as a nation and keep us humble that we will begin to rebuild on your principles. That we may be a light in the darkness for all nations, a city on the hill, and a balm of healing for the whole world. And keep us focused in gratitude giving You all the glory.
Multiply by the thousands and millions followers of you in this country, that we may move in an overpowering way that leaves no doubt to the enemies that You alone are God — our Maker and our only Salvation. Give us the desire to know you and be transformed to be your agents. Let us have hearts of love, grace and gratitude — but a strength and courage that causes our enemies to melt before us — not becuase of us, Lord — but becuase of you.

Ferdinand Magellan
(1480-1521)
Portuguese explorer, killed while on voyage to circumnavigate the world, by Filipino natives at 41
Biography: Ferdinand Magellan was a Portuguese explorer best known for leading the first expedition to circumnavigate the Earth, although he himself did not complete the journey. Born into a family of minor Portuguese nobility, Magellan became interested in exploration at a young age.
Magellan served the Portuguese crown in various capacities, including military campaigns in India and Africa, but later moved to Spain after a falling out with the Portuguese king. In service to Spain, he proposed an ambitious plan to reach the Spice Islands (now part of Indonesia) by sailing westward, thereby circumventing Portuguese-controlled routes.
He set sail in 1519 with a fleet of five ships. Although he faced challenges, including mutiny and severe navigational hurdles, Magellan successfully entered the Pacific Ocean by navigating through the strait that now bears his name at the southern tip of South America.
Magellan was killed in the Philippines during a skirmish with local tribes, never completing the circumnavigation himself. One of his ships, however, the Victoria, led by Juan Sebastián Elcano, returned to Spain in 1522, thus completing the first circumnavigation of the Earth. Only 18 of the original 270 crew members survived.
