Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Air Force Gen. Dan Caine, hold a press briefing at the Pentagon to update on the current status of “Operation Epic Fury.” Today is day 55 of the conflict.
Secretary Hegseth outlined how the U.S. blockade of Iran in the Strait of Hormuz is ongoing. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps are trying to use small boats to lay underwater mines while the U.S. military continues taking them apart. WATCH (prompted):

Secretary of War Hegseth: “Time for free riding is over”!
“America and the free world deserve allies who are capable, who are loyal, and who understand that being an ally is not a one-way street. It’s a two-way street.”
The bare minimum, really…
Looks to me like our allies have been swapped out for new ones… we’re not in World War Two anymore.
NATO was formed in 1949….
I thoroughly appreciate these briefings-
to learn directly from the men (including Adm. Cooper) of what our forces are doing on our behalf.
Good briefing Great to hear from those who are in the thick of it.
Detain every Iranian outbound tanker, continue Iranian blockade and start bombing their bridges, and power plant distribution lines. Make their lives visibly more difficult. Increase the pressure. This regime needs to die.
Read recently that perhaps as many as 60% of the small boats manned by the IRGC navy – those used for laying mines and harrassing shipping – still exist and are ready for use, but that being so small they are very difficult to locate and destroy when they are not out on the water. They are distributed in small numbers all up and down the coast in among all manner of other non-military water craft. Well, if the IRGC continues to send them out trying to close the strait, then our forces should range up and down the Iranian coast destroying everything that floats and everywhere those boats can be hidden. If that is how they want to operate, then sink everything.
Increasing the pressure should also include taking out that rail line in the northeast of the country that connects Iran to China.
my guess is most are comandered boats 13 -17 ft boats i imagine there are alot previously in use for recreation and small comercial fishing
Yes, those boats might be commandeered like you say. Don’t know. The only photos and videos seem to show they are all the same, like in the same class, but those are their photos and videos and they might be trying to give a false or misleading impression. Should order them not to send any boats out and then sink whatever does come out no matter what it looks like.
I wonder why the President hasn’t already blown up the small boats like he did those drug boats from Venezuela? If IRGC is running these boats to close the Strait, take them out.
Especially that rail line.
The word “surrender” not in the Shia vocabulary/lexicon so this conflict may continue until Iran is economically castrated
I applaud all of our brave warriors, President Trump, Secretary Hegseth and all of the military leaders of the Iran operation.
However, I am growing weary from all of the cheerleading that General Cain is doing for the intelligence community.
I get the impression that the general is attempting to convince us that FISA 702 reauthorization is necessary for the war effort. It’s not. 702 could die today and there would be no change in the intelligence gathering pertaining to foreign enemies. We are rightly concerned about INTERNAL surveillance.
Maybe I’m being too sensitive and too suspicious. Maybe I’m way off base. I just get suspicious when a member of the government goes full cheerleader in public for the IC at the same time we are debating FISA 702 reauthorization.
I got the impression he was giving an “atta-boy” to Naval Intelligence and other defense components.
War vs Defense:
Our journalists and The People would be better served once they understand, as established, the Department was called the “War” Department… other than self inflicted carnage, esp the Uncivil War of 1860’s; we didn’t squander our blood and treasure.
The Spanish American War, the Great War (WW I) and World W II were orchestrated to secure, for the Globalists, the “United Nations”; the platform from which they would obtain total Global control. Once focused on the “United Nations”, the American Department of War was renamed the “Department of Defense” and since then the carnage of our blood and treasure, as well as that of other free thinking people, has been expended beyond measure…all under the fraud of UN managed “Peace”.
During the Vietnam War, all major operations were required to be reviewed by the UN Security Council… the commanding officer being from the Soviet Union. When our aircraft, as an example, where to hit North Vietnam, the Security Council contact passed along the plan to North Vietnam and their guns and missiles were waiting… Our pilots flew anyway.
There is no larger group looking for “Peace” that those tasked with prosecuting “War”. Hopefully, by reverting to the original designation, having the lethality and determination to honorably prosecute; we will obtain wider and deeper periods of Peace around the world and, by good conduct be “a light of hope to the oppressed of the world”…as was the intention of the wisdom which founded the United States of America.
The American citizens can secure this quest by supporting only those who understand and honor the blood sacrifice which sustains the American Nation; elect and place in authority, only those who have the practical experience and commitment to the American cause for Peace and Prosperity.
These two make a good tag team. I ❤️LOVE❤️ the forceful rhetoric coming from SECWAR. The world should fear our military strength and ability. That’s what they are there for. It’s great to see that coming from leadership and being said unapologetically, compared to the past administration. I also appreciate the difference between the civilian/political leadership in SECWAR from the military leadership in the Chairman and how that’s presented in these hearings. Just the right tone IMO. 💥🇺🇸💥🇺🇸💥🇺🇸💥
“Noble Peace Prize should be recommended every year to US Military”… very true
