CountryDoc, you brought back the memories. Had to check when this song released, oh my gosh, how the brain works without our knowing how/why, especially with music memories.
All the boys my college years, had the chick tape/s, for dates. Had the good fortune to date different boys with brand new TransAm’s, and 442’s. One of the TransAm’s was a T-top. Loved that car ! One of the 442’s, I married its driver.
I remember the sound of all of them, remember feeling pedal to the metal too.
This song was my freshmen year of college. Hearing it this morning, it’s all like yesterday. Those boys looked so fine and all was ahead of them. Wish they could know a bit of their past, praying they have had great lives and are in continued good health. And a full head of hair too…..ha ha.

I’ve thought about this before, but it’s starting to strike me more clearly in recent years.
We boomers have had a remarkable life when it comes to music. We grew up in a time when classical music is still popular, when jazz and swing were popular, and when rock ‘n’ roll was born, and became popular, followed by all the sub genres of popular music.
At the same time, we enjoyed the rising popularity of country western music, until it evolved into today’s country rock.
We’ve seen a huge variety in popular music throughout the decades, much of which has survived I guess, because our generation is still around. But even the younger generations are starting to turn back to some of the old pop & rock classics as I’ve witnessed among my grandchildren’s peers.
We might be the luckiest generation in human existence from a musical perspective.

COMMENTARY FOR JOSHUA 24:15
God’s benefits to their fathers. (1-14) Joshua renews the covenant between the people and God. (15-28) Joshua’s death, Joseph’s bones buried, The state of Israel. (29-33)
15-28 It is essential that the service of God’s people be performed with a willing mind. For LOVE is the only genuine principle whence all acceptable service of God can spring. The Father seeks only such to worship him, as worship him in spirit and in truth. The carnal mind of man is enmity against God, therefore, is not capable of such spiritual worship. Hence the necessity of being born again. But numbers rest in mere forms, as tasks imposed upon them. Joshua puts them to their choice; but not as if it were indifferent whether they served God or not. Choose you whom ye will serve, now the matter is laid plainly before you. He resolves to do this, whatever others did. Those that are bound for heaven, must be willing to swim against the stream. They must not do as the most do, but as the best do. And no one can behave himself as he ought in any station, who does not deeply consider his religious duties in family relations. The Israelites agree with Joshua, being influenced by the example of a man who had been so great a blessing to them; We also will serve the Lord. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Loving Lord, as the day is coming to an end, I want to thank You for being with me in all that has taken place today. I also want to lay the whole day before You, asking that you would show me if there is anything that I have done to hurt or harm another person unknowingly, or if I have done anything that is displeasing in Your sight, or quenched the work of the Spirit in me, so that I may turn away from such things in the days that lie ahead.

Praise Your holy name Heavenly Father, for granting yet another day in my life and for being with me every step of the way. Thank You for the many blessings that You have provided and the love and fellowship that I have with the friends and family that in Your grace You have placed in my life.
My heart is so thankful for all the many blessings that I enjoy day by day, and today I am once again reminded that Your mercies are new every morning and Your faithfulness endures from generation to generation.
Thank You, that I have been brought into Your family and have been made a child of God and a citizen of heaven. Words cannot express my love and devotion to You Lord
I pray that You would watch over me as I rest tonight, and that You would give me a restful night’s sleep so that I may wake up in the morning refreshed in body and spirit and ready to do Your will. Guard all those that I love and may we all grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ in the days that lie ahead. This I ask in His precious name,

Sit Rep- I finally signed the lease on my apartment yesterday and today all the minor issues where resolved by the maintenance crew. The bed that was bought for me and was supposed to be delivered on Saturday finally arrived today so I have spent my last night in the Salvation Army shelter.
I have been told that I possibly have skin cancer again and I have a consult with a dermatologist on Friday. I have also been told my chronic pain in my shoulders , hips and knees is arthritis and I am supposed to be receiving a consult for orthopedics soon. I have an appointment with the Texas Veterans Commission on May 18th to start my disability claim, I have been informed that I will be told no repeatedly before I hear a yes and that the process could take anywhere from six months to a year or longer. I will NOT accept a no this time between the tennitus, PTSD, anger issues and the chronic pain I can no longer go on living my life this way. I was told when I was 17 when I signed my enlistment contract that as long as I followed orders and received a Honorable discharge that my uncle Sam would take care of me and it is now time for him to do just that.
I am waiting on my birth certificate to arrive so I can get a new Social Security card and state ID, till then I can’t even apply for a real job and when I try and get day labor work everyone thinks I am ICE.

I was SAVED when I was 6. HE has walked with me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Please share how you were saved. As a boy, I recognized [later to realize the Holy Spirit caused me to recognize] that the beautiful natural world and abundant life are created and felt awe, joy and appreciation. Everything we are as human beings, including the love & morality written in our hearts & minds, and everything the earth and universe are, is created. As a teenager, I spoke, from my heart, to God to express my gratitude for his creation, my life, and sending his son Jesus for our redemption; to ask forgiveness of my sins through Jesus and repent; to make my heart pure for Jesus to live and shine his light, truth and courage through me; and guide my life. The contrast in my life between before versus after was too great to attribute to me alone or random events. I found that the Bible really does speak to the individual reader, and historical consistent, corroborating evidence further confirmed. Peace
