That said: keep the blockade on, AND cut off their ability to use the global banking system. Then open that dam Strait to all but Iranian ship traffic. Use convoys — have a couple destroyers and/or frigates escort 20- 25 ships at a time thru the Strait, with plenty of air cover. Keep with the blockade. A blockade, regardless of the technology of the weapons of war, has been a tried and true strategic tactic for thousands of years. Siege of Masada, castles in England, etc. The strongest wall is no match for an overwhelming blockade. And perhaps quicker now with Iran losing so much funding and oil storage. It’s also safe for our troops. Just wait them out, less than 10-15 years that’s for sure. A few weeks of blockade is much better than millions spent on munitions now that their primary military is non existent.
And the railroad to China is like that one access to water for previous blockades. Make sure that not used and they are bring stuff over mountains.
There’s another reason, a blockade is a message designed as a question, and aimed at the domestic Iranian audience, to weaken the IRGC narrative of ‘victory’. ‘If we won why are we the ones being blockaded?’
I love the, ‘Iran is seriously fractured’ line, given the Allied strategy was to take the existing cracks in the government and make it into chasm. He’s sending a message that this is the time for those who want a deal to do something about the hardliners. This in turn will panic said hardliners who might attempt a coup, or more accurately tear off the mask, and ‘unify’ Iran. Both options will end with their destruction, either at the hands of their own people, or that of an Allied serviceman.

Here’s what truly worries me about the Israel-USA-Iran War.
To us – we are in a conventional, albeit strictly Air (missiles. drones, bombing) and Naval (blockade) War with Iran. Given the damage done to their government and military authority chain of command and supporting systems, assets and infrastructure – it makes sense to us that Iran surrender.
To Iran – they are in an Islamic Koranic morality play, interpreting all positive and negative actions, outcomes and impact of the war in terms of their religion and what has been written in their Holy books and traditions. That’s a problem that I believe we have no response to?
We are playing checkers; they are playing chess (or vice versa).
Don’t think the Quran mentions full spectrum warfare and the dominance of the US in all its fields. I get a bit tired of this line of argument, because it suggests the opposite to reality. They are thugs, plain and simple, they rely on any opponent believing in their supposed mystical edge and acting accordingly. They are experts at exploiting any weakness, which is often created by the illusion of power they desperately seek to project and are masters at flipping any script, to sow doubt and confusion, aided by their paid toadies, snitches and grasses.
