During my five years as President, Tim would call me, but never too much, and I would help him where I could.
Years latter, after 3 or 4 BIG HELPS, I started to say to people, anyone who would listen, that this guy is an amazing manager and leader.
He makes these calls to me, I help him out (but not always, because he will, on occasion, be too aggressive in his ask!), and he gets the job done, QUICKLY, without a dime being given to those very expensive (millions of dollars!) consultants around town who sometimes get it done, and sometimes don’t.
Anyway, Tim Cook had an AMAZING career, almost incomparable, and will go on and continue to do great work for Apple, and whatever else he chooses to work on.

Again, I will argue there should not be federal trial courts in DC. Jurisdiction for such cases should be randomly assigned amongst the Circuits. We have the technology to make this feasible in a way it might not have been previously. DC is not a State and should not be treated as one.

Almost every Virginian that does not live off federal money in the DC suburbs or by the Norfolk Naval base will be disenfranchised with zero representation. It is beyond illegal and the Democrats revel in that.
When you live in Virginia, you encounter people from Northern VA and all they do is express utter contempt for anyone born in VA, anyone who lives in a rural area, anyone who farms, or hunts, or goes to church. The IRGC will never, repeat never, agree to any peace deal that removes them from power. If they lose power, the brutality that they leveled against the Iranian people will be returned with righteous vengeance. Its a zero sum game for the IRGC members and their affiliated goons. They would rather test our resolve, than face their own people.

This was all part of the plan, to force the IRGC to self-designate itself so that the decapitating strike only took out the radicals. The ‘strike’ was also planned to be multi-vectored so that it could come from outside the country, or inside, as the IRGC would have to mount some sort of coup, as for them the continuation of the conflict is existential.
The reason why I’m sure this was a planned outcome is because of one US demand, no nuclear weapons. There is no way the IRGC can even contemplate this request because to do so is to sign their own death warrants, as they are behind the ruinous drive to achieve this objective and to accept it being ended would mean an immediate emasculation, followed by the majority sensing their weakness and tearing them apart. Remember these thugs are well aware of the psychology of terror and, just like their Leftist compatriots here, are well aware of the dangers of concession, and forced to a near-psychotic level of resistance by their reality-detached rhetoric.
For the other factions, however, the the no-nukes demand is a relatively simple question of negotiating the best reward for its removal as there is a general understanding that the strategy has crippled Iran’s economic potential, becoming a restrictor, not an enabler, a redundant programme that ill fits the developing political landscape of the ME.
This chasm between the two factions can only have one result, a power-play to remove the rival. The IRGC would be expected to beat their opponent’s to the draw, but their victory simply allows the US and Israel to draw a bead on them more easily, with talk about striking power stations adding the possibility of mass protests against those who prolonged the war.
I would also suggest, that similar to Ukraine, the IRGC has been given highly optimistic intelligence assessments from covert Western IC briefings, encouraging them to continue the conflict, some of which ‘leak’ into the Social Media conduit. Remember, every month we are told Russia is running out of troops and equipment and their economy is on its last legs and compare that to the: US and Israel are running out of interceptors, the Iranians are holding back their hyper-sonic, time-travelling stealth missiles, the US lost most of its sophisticated radars, concerns grow about a stalemate, Trump doesn’t know how to surrender and lashes out at x stories. Same footprint, same fingerprints.

The framing is familiar. The evidentiary basis is weaker than the framing suggests. It is worth walking through what these three men actually did in government, what they did not do, and what the record shows about the men they are criticizing. Once that is done, a further question comes into view. It concerns whether the category “experienced diplomat” is doing the analytical work Wang assumes it is doing, and whether, in fact, the opposite proposition may be closer to the truth.
