That said: keep the blockade on, AND cut off their ability to use the global banking system. Then open that dam Strait to all but Iranian ship traffic. Use convoys — have a couple destroyers and/or frigates escort 20- 25 ships at a time thru the Strait, with plenty of air cover. Those dinky little speedboats won’t be able to get anywhere near a convoy without getting sunk.

The US Navy is the process of clearing mines throughout the Omani Passage which is the alternative route through the Straits of Hormuz. The plan is to escort a dozen or more oil tankers through the Straits at a time under the protection of the United States Navy. The final wraps are being worked out on the tanker insurance program that President Trump asked the Treasury Secretary to institute since commercial insurance is not available.

Keep with the blockade. A blockade, regardless of the technology of the weapons of war, has been a tried and true strategic tactic for thousands of years. Siege of Masada, castles in England, etc. The strongest wall is no match for an overwhelming blockade. And perhaps quicker now with Iran losing so much funding and oil storage. It’s also safe for our troops. Just wait them out, less than 10-15 years that’s for sure. A few weeks of blockade is much better than millions spent on munitions now that their primary military is non existent.
And the railroad to China is like that one access to water for previous blockades. Make sure that not used and they are bring stuff over mountains.
There’s another reason, a blockade is a message designed as a question, and aimed at the domestic Iranian audience, to weaken the IRGC narrative of ‘victory’. ‘If we won why are we the ones being blockaded?’
I love the, ‘Iran is seriously fractured’ line, given the Allied strategy was to take the existing cracks in the government and make it into chasm. He’s sending a message that this is the time for those who want a deal to do something about the hardliners. This in turn will panic said hardliners who might attempt a coup, or more accurately tear off the mask, and ‘unify’ Iran. Both options will end with their destruction, either at the hands of their own people, or that of an Allied serviceman.

I doubt Ukraine has the capacity to so engage the Russians they couldn’t assist Iran if they so desired (see above claim).

Here’s what truly worries me about the Israel-USA-Iran War.
To us – we are in a conventional, albeit strictly Air (missiles. drones, bombing) and Naval (blockade) War with Iran. Given the damage done to their government and military authority chain of command and supporting systems, assets and infrastructure – it makes sense to us that Iran surrender.
To Iran – they are in an Islamic Koranic morality play, interpreting all positive and negative actions, outcomes and impact of the war in terms of their religion and what has been written in their Holy books and traditions. That’s a problem that I believe we have no response to?
We are playing checkers; they are playing chess (or vice versa).
Don’t think the Quran mentions full spectrum warfare and the dominance of the US in all its fields. I get a bit tired of this line of argument, because it suggests the opposite to reality. They are thugs, plain and simple, they rely on any opponent believing in their supposed mystical edge and acting accordingly. They are experts at exploiting any weakness, which is often created by the illusion of power they desperately seek to project and are masters at flipping any script, to sow doubt and confusion, aided by their paid toadies, snitches and grasses. The mafia with turbans.
The trouble for the Mad Mullah gang is that the person opposite them, who could cripple their country for decades, in seconds, has negotiated and worked with organised crime for decades. I was an election judge several times. Watched busloads of people who didnt speak English show a written note with their with 5 part names, and large numbers in same apartment addresses.
Someone please explain why Youngkin didn’t clean up the voter roles.

I am looking at my precinct, dept of elections reports 30 No and 115 Yes.
There were more than 30 people I know canvassing for No votes.

Virginia conservatives pulled up a good fight despite it not being midterm season. It shows that Virginia conservatives are not apathetic and still want to save their state from Governor Spanberger and her minions.
This wasn’t just a vote for a school board member.
It was a Constitutional Amendment to eliminate all Republican representation in the legislature.
They already made guns and leaf blowers illegal, last week.
In about one hour’s time the reporting totally flipped to “YES”

Florida has a surprisingly clear constitutional amendment, passed in 2010 by 62.9% of voters, that prohibits redistricting with the intent to favor or disfavor incumbents or political parties

The “yes” vote has won Va’s redistricting referendum — but the legal fight is just beginning. Four Va Constitutional challenges are now teed up:
THREE challenges to the amendment process itself:
1️⃣ First passage was invalid. The amendment was taken up during a special session convened in 2024 for budget purposes. The General Assembly’s own call to the Governor (under Art. IV, §6 and Art. V, §5) and its governing resolution (HJR 6001) limited the session’s scope. Expanding it to include a constitutional amendment on redistricting required a two-thirds vote that never occurred. A Tazewell County judge found this action “void, ab initio.”
2️⃣ Art. XII, §1 requires that after first passage, a proposed amendment be “referred to the General Assembly at its first regular session held after the next general election of members of the House of Delegates.” An election must intervene between first and second passage. Here, first passage occurred during an election cycle — not before an intervening one.
3️⃣ Art. XII, §1 requires the amendment be submitted to voters “not sooner than ninety days after final passage by the General Assembly.” The timeline from second passage to the April 21 vote did not satisfy this requirement.
Plus ONE challenge to the proposed maps:
4️⃣ Art. II, §6 requires that “every electoral district shall be composed of contiguous and compact territory.” The proposed congressional maps violate this contiguity requirement (rather badly).

One case is already at the Virginia Supreme Court level
If the voters who voted for Trump in 2024 in just the 5 DC suburb counties had all voted in this election, the ballot initiative would have lost by over 60,000 votes.
That would be over 150,000 Republicans who did not vote today. They only have themselves to blame.
I will repeat it once again. We can thank the “muh epstein”, “muh priniciples” crowd who stayed home last November and voted for this.

After an extreme gerrymander by NY Dems in 2022, completely ignoring the Independent Commission they created in 2014, the Court of Appeals in NY restored fairness. Then, the Dems sued again in 2024 to overturn the Court of Appeals decision. They bullied 2 Court of Appeals judges….
