Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Have been feeling these being about 40 miles away from the epicenter of the 5.7 earthquake in Nevada, and so far there’s been over 24 aftershocks. It’s going to be one of those light sleeping nights tonight with the go-bag near the door! Yesterday we had snow, today sunshine and now earthquakes.
Thanks, Had not heard of this.

I’m just outside of the Reno area, in the foothills, and a nephew, who lives in the Lodi, California area felt it! It has been determined to be a slip-type earthquake, where the two plates slide back and forth against each other instead of the up/down thrust type and is in the northern part of what they call the Walker Lane trend.
It’s Holocaust Memorial Day. Mengale was the Devil Doctor known to have performed experiments on twins.
This video will do. Extraordinary.
Never Again!
While serving in the military my dad was one of the soldiers (US military) that was present in the liberation of one of those places and his superior officer, knowing my dad’s hobby of photography, was assigned to photograph. He somehow retained copies of those photos and made sure us kids looked at them every year while growing up.
I still have nightmares of what I saw in those photos. And to this day will never be seen wearing the colors of red and black at the same time, because of the color of that flag. People have no idea just how evil humans can be to other humans.
Am not of the Hebrew faith, but am one who means it when saying ‘never again’. May those who passed and those who endured those horrors truly be blessed in eternal peace and healing upon their souls.
Thank you. I am a son of an Auschwitz Concentration Camp Survivor, mother. I appreciate your father.
I avoided our personal story it’s too much. My mother in law was also a survivor. No one was suppose to see the gas chambers inside and she somehow accidentally saw it. She went into a shock and was not able to talk for about a week.
God bless the survivors and give them peace.
I had a English teacher who brought in photos that were not so graphic (to HS students) when her husband was liberating a camp.
The photo that I remember is the guard that was held by circle of GI’s with a 45 to his temple…. moments before they completed the mission.
I recently ran into this one in the internet archives
https://archive.org/
The entry page has a warning but inappropriate or offensive doesn’t quite cover it.

59 minutes if you can complete it…
Many more in the archives if you just put in the above /nazi_ …… that may or may not warnings.
Yeah; those images stay with you when seeing them. I won’t mention the images I saw, there were hundreds of them, and just the memory still is unsettling so can only imagine how life unfolded for those who lived through it and the aftermath, especially for our friend in Israel David’s family and fellow citizens.
I think my dad’s annual bringing out that album was his way of dealing with what he witnessed in person as one of the photographers and in sharing with us, his daughters, was his way of teaching us to not be so naive as we grew up.
YHWH bless this dear woman’s forgiving soul. Amen.

George Frideric Handel
(1685-1759)
German-British baroque composer and organist (Messiah; Water Music), dies at 74
Biography: As a young man the German born Handel travelled and lived in Italy, its operatic tradition becoming very influential on his work.
In 1712 Handel decided to settle in London, becoming a naturalized British citizen in 1727. He enjoyed early royal patronage and wrote his famous “Water Music” in 1717 for King George I on the River Thames and in 1727 was commissioned to compose works for the coronation of George II. One of these, “Zadok the Priest” has been played at every British coronation since.
Handel began to move away from Italian style operas towards oratorios before later in life embracing a more English choral tradition. His most famous work “Messiah” was composed in 1742 and its “Hallelujah” chorus has been a Christmas favorite ever since.

Louis Sullivan
(1856-1924)
American architect (father of skyscrapers), dies at 67
Biography: Credited with having coined the phrase “form follows function,” Sullivan was an American architect known as the ‘father of skyscrapers’ and ‘father of modernism.’
Beginning his career in Chicago, he worked for William LeBaron Jenney—the first architect to erect a steel frame building. Chicago was to become a laboratory for a new type of building driven by expanding steel production.
With ready access to steel, structural constraints which had previously determined designs were no longer a problem. Sullivan, while not the first to realise this, was renowned for having leaned into the particular characteristics of steel—hence, “form follows function.”
Sullivan attributed this concept to the Roman architect, Vitruvius; however he gave it new meaning in formulating and refining the now iconic design of skyscrapers.
