This has nothing to do with one’s age. It has to do with overpriced machines with technology that hardly anyone uses, and a machine that last half the time of machines that were made 20 years ago.
Why do we have to pay for stuff we will never use. You can’t even get a plain stripped down washing machine anymore. You are forced to pay for things you don’t want on a machine. If it breaks down, fixing it yourself is next to impossible. Washing machines are only one such item.
Same with automobiles. With our new government legislation, we now we have to pay for computer technology that will track us. Another thing we don’t even want. This continues to increase the cost of cars, repairs and insurance rates.
It’s totally out of hand.
We should be able to buy a stripped down car, a stripped down washing machine, a stripped down refrigerator, and other items.
I have this conversation with people all ages. It’s not just a.”Boomer” Issue. Just because they have the technology doesn’t mean they should add it to everything, or that we want it.
If someone built a car without all of the added technology, it would probably sell like hot cakes.
The other never-ceasing trend is the constant down-sizing of food products and portion sizes, that over time have made a mockery of even the most trusted product names. Frozen food dinners with much small meat portions, candy bars that are laughable, and my favorite, Hostess bakery products, sold to a Mexican consortium with the brazen corporate name of Grupo Bimbo, along with a host of other familiar foods, all of whom have markedly decreased portion sizes.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. The pagan historian Tacitus and St. Clement of Rome tell of a night of horror (August 15, 64 A.D.) when in the imperial parks Christians were put into animal skins and hunted, were brutally attacked, and were made into living torches to light the road for Nero’s chariot. From 64 to 314 “Christian” was synonymous with “execution victim.”

There were Christians in Rome within a dozen or so years after the death of Jesus, though they were not the converts of the “Apostle of the Gentiles” (see Romans 15:20). Paul had not yet visited them at the time he wrote his great letter in A.D. 57-58.
There was a large Jewish population in Rome. Probably as a result of controversy between Jews and Jewish Christians, the Emperor Claudius expelled all Jews from Rome in A.D. 49-50. Suetonius the historian says that the expulsion was due to disturbances in the city “caused by the certain Chrestus” [Christ]. Perhaps many came back after Claudius’s death in A.D. 54. In July of A.D. 64, more than half of Rome was destroyed by fire. Rumor blamed the tragedy on Nero, who wanted to enlarge his palace. He shifted the blame by accusing the Christians. According to the historian Tacitus, a “great multitude” of Christians were put to death because of their “hatred of the human race.” Peter and Paul were probably among the victims.
Threatened by an army revolt and condemned to death by the senate, Nero committed suicide in A.D. 68 at the age of thirty-one.
Wherever the Good News of Jesus was preached, it met the same opposition as Jesus did, and many of those who began to follow him shared his suffering and death. But no human force could stop the power of the Spirit unleashed upon the world. The blood of martyrs has always been, and will always be, the seed of Christians.

One needs to read Deuteronomy chapters 27-32 where we read that Moses said of Israel:
They have dealt corruptly with him (God);
they are no longer his children because they are blemished;
they are a crooked and twisted generation.
and
For their vine comes from the vine of Sodom
and from the fields of Gomorrah;
their grapes are grapes of poison;
their clusters are bitter;
their wine is the poison of serpents
and the cruel venom of asps.
This from the Song of Moses which is a scathing condemnation of the unfaithfulness of Israel.
This is why the Gospels call for the people of Israel to repent and to believe the words of Jesus as well as those of their prophets including Amos, Hosea and Isaiah.

About the earthquakes. Just heard there are still 40,000 missing in Caracas. The last time that area suffered a couplet of strong quakes was back in the 1800’s and in the same year that happened there were strong quakes at the New Madrid fault and along the west coast.
