It was building in the background for several weeks; the stories of multiple women who had been raped and sexually assaulted by congressman Eric Swalwell.
Today, the San Francisco Chronicle began outlining their stories [SEE HERE], and now an exit of people from his campaign begins.
WASHINGTON DC – Rep. Eric Swalwell’s campaign for governor was reeling Friday after an ex-staffer accused him of sexual assault, with multiple staffers resigning and both a prominent ally and rival candidates calling on the California Democrat to exit the race.
The exodus, which began just before the San Francisco Chronicle published a report detailing a former staffer’s claims, jolted California’s marquee race just weeks before ballots start landing in voters’ mailboxes. The former staffer told the newspaper that Swalwell had sexual encounters with her while working for him, and that he sexually assaulted her twice when she was too drunk to consent.
In September 2019, the woman said, Swalwell invited her out for drinks and she became so severely intoxicated that she does not remember the rest of the night. She said she woke up naked in Swalwell’s hotel bed and could feel the effect of vaginal intercourse. {source}
Top staffers departed the campaign shortly before the story published. Soon after, Rep. Jimmy Gomez said in a statement that he was stepping down from the campaign and urged Swalwell to leave the race — a stunning rebuke from a key surrogate who had helped introduce Swalwell to power players in Sacramento, where Gomez served in the state Assembly.
“Today I learned shocking information about Eric Swalwell containing the ugliest and most serious accusations imaginable,” Gomez said in a statement. “My involvement in any campaign begins and ends with trust. I cannot in good conscience remain in any role with this campaign, and I am stepping down from it effective immediately.”
The fallout extended to prominent interest groups that had backed Swalwell. The California Medical Association, which has dropped more than $1 million into a pro-Swalwell committee, said it was convening an emergency board meeting. Answer: Congress has a slush fund comprised of earnings confiscated from you and me. It has been used to silence congressional staffers who complained about sexual harassment and worse. Been in place for decades. There is zero transparency about this from any Speaker. It is sacred and immutable.
Because Swallwell is not in the way of the Democrats winning a House or Senate seat. In California, the top two from the primary, even if from the same party, are on the final ballot. Currently, the two Republicans are in the top two spots, by a lot, per current polls. There is a slew of Democrats running, with the main group being Swalwell, Katie Porter, Xavier Becerra, and Antonio Villaraigosa.
The Dems are not doing well, even after they tried to push Katie Porter out of the race by doing what they are now doing to Swalwell, but using her specific antics against her. However, she has not faltered and dropped out of the race.
Now that the ballots have gone out and no Democrat is gaining ground in the polls, they need to eliminate one or two from the race- Swalwell, as they of course knew, even when first endorsing him, has low-hanging fruit that can be plucked and used against him.
It’s not a coincidence that the Fang Fang stuff resurfaced, and now the sexual assault and rape allegations (not new) are being brought front and center.
They need at least one prominent name to drop out ASAP to consolidate the vote; we will probably see another individual’s dirt come to light, or they may refocus on getting Porter to drop out again.
They need to get the Dems in a position where they can activate ballots to ensure one of them ends up in teh final two; I would say they may even go for a twofor and get two on the final ballot but the two R’s are so far ahead in the polls, even the Dems are not despereate enough to expose their cheating during a primary race. Now, come the main election, yes, they won’t give two craps how exposed their cheating is with the ballot harvesting and use of tainted voter rolls with illegals and dead people people because they will have won and they will contorl the process to cover up thier cheating.

I’m not so sure. The norm is that even those Democrats who detest each other, will still wheel and deal with one another. A great example is Obama and Hillary working together for their mutual political gain despite their hatred for one another. I think the casting out of Swalwell may be more due to the fact that President Trump has weakened the Democrat Party to the extent that they’re now more afraid to take a chance on supporting someone whose dark past has suddenly caught up with them in the public eye.

I looked back at the 3/24/26 stories about USC cancelling a governors’ debate due to the selection of only white people. They listed 5 candidates who would debate (Swalwell, Porter, Steyer, Hilton, Bianco, Mahan). 4 other candidates, all ‘people of color’ used the race card to try to get into the debate, or get it cancelled. That’s 9 candidates. It seems they need to get rid of a few more in order to insure a Dem is in the final 2 vote-getters. Have any of the others dropped out since 3/24?
