In 2023 Lt Gen Michael Flynn filed a $50 million lawsuit against the DOJ for wrongful prosecution. Yesterday, the DOJ settled with Flynn for approximately $1.2 million.
As many of you are aware, the former National Security Advisor to President Trump was targeted by the FBI and DOJ during the Russiagate phase of the Trump targeting effort.
Michael Flynn was investigated by Robert Mueller and prosecuted, wrongly, for lying to FBI agents Peter Strzok and Bill Priestap about the content of his phone call with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Flynn was also investigated for FARA violations.
When the Mueller team threatened his family, in November 2017 Michael Flynn signed a guilty plea which he later withdrew as more evidence of FBI and DOJ corruption began to surface.
(VIA AP) – WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department has settled for roughly $1.2 million a lawsuit from Michael Flynn, the former national security adviser to President Donald Trump who pleaded guilty during the Republican’s first term to lying to the FBI about his conversations with a top Russian diplomat and was later pardoned.
Court papers filed Wednesday do not reveal the settlement amount, but a person familiar with the matter, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to disclose nonpublic information, confirmed the total as about $1.2 million. (read more)
The granular details showing Flynn’s malicious prosecution were researched and highlighted on CTH for years. There is no doubt Flynn’s targeting by the DOJ and FBI was entirely political in nature. In 2018 attorney Sidney Powell took on the mission to defend Flynn that eventually led to the DOJ dropping the case. President Trump then pardoned Flynn.
Following the announcement of the DOJ settlement, Michael Flynn and family released the following statement:
“Today, after ten years of fighting, I have reached a settlement agreement with the United States Government in my case regarding the Russian Hoax FBI lawfare against me.
Nothing can fully compensate for the hell that my family and I have endured over these many years—the relentless attacks, the destruction of reputations, the financial ruin, and the profound personal toll inflicted upon us all. No amount of money or formal resolution can erase the pain caused by a prosecution that should never have been brought.
This ordeal stemmed from partisan government officials in a coordinated effort to pursue an innocent man as part of a broader campaign to undermine Donald Trump and his administration. It was a relentless, partisan pursuit that weaponized federal law enforcement in an audacious and unjust manner.
Yet this settlement goes far in demonstrating that the current Department of Justice, under the leadership of President Trump, Attorney General Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Blanche, and other dedicated departmental leaders, is committed to bringing accountability for the bad acts of those partisan actors. It marks a meaningful step toward righting a profound wrong.
There should never again be such a brazen attempt to weaponize federal law enforcement against political opponents or innocent citizens. It is essential that we remain guardians of the rule of law. A huge part of that guardianship is accountability, holding those who abuse power to answer for their actions.
It is not this Department of Justice that created this crisis of politicized justice, but they are doing right by truly pursuing justice now—ensuring that the facts prevail and that such abuses are not repeated. This resolution, while imperfect, brings to an end this chapter of injustice. This small measure of accountability should help the nation heal regarding the abuses of the past. It allows my family and me to move forward.
My family and I remain grateful for the support of so many who stood by us. It was their support and our faith in God Almighty that sustained us and gave us the strength to endure. I will continue to advocate for the restoration of integrity in all our institutions.” (source)
Hopefully Michael Flynn can take the money and enjoy the rest of his life in peace.
Not to take away from the message, but brutal honesty is also required. There is a reason why Gen Michael Flynn was not brought back into the Trump administration. Flynn’s post-term-1 Achilles heel has been his financial reliance on an audience. I wish him all the best.

After all the hell Flynn went through I would think our current DOJ could have coughed up a bit more than $1.2 million. That amount of money does not get one far in today’s world.
Tax payers shouldn’t be coughing up anything. This will happen again and again until we see convictions for those responsible. Liquidate their assets and throw their ass in the dungeon.
Indeed, those that broke the law to pursue this nonsense, and those that set it in motion should be the ones coughing it up.
Where’s Bondi?
I’ll take dumb blond jokes for $200 ken.
Bondi Who?
Exactly!
“The DOJ” didn’t pay anything. The American taxpayers footed the bill for this settlement.
It’s easy to settle a lawsuit for big money when someone else is paying.
Correct. The individuals that abused their office should be financially liable directly to him. Why are they not being prosecuted?
The taxpayers would come out ahead if those involved lost their pensions. Full stop.
It is appropriate since they abused their government position to persecute Gen. Flynn.
This doesn’t stop until we make it so painful to abuse government power that the temptation is mitigated.
Don’t do the crime if you can’t pay the dime. I’d be A okay with them doing the time too.
USAID money would be funneled back door to them. Ever wonder how all these scumbags get those millions the go fund me?
It is said in law that fraud vitiates EVERYTHING. So, wouldn’t the fraud at various pints in the persecution of Flynn create enough stinky fraud to vitiate the FBI charges, AND remove the qualified immunity? Seems it would to me..
Remember that Sidney got the prosecutors on Brady Violations, which are FRAUD.
Would like to see this more broken down.
“Fraud vitiates EVERYTHING” concerning the contents of a fraudulent contract in business, for example. In practical application in areas other than CONTRACT LAW, “Fraud vitiates MANY things” is more applicable.
In this case, this is a legal SETTLEMENT, not a judgment in court arrived at because of fraudulent evidence, including testimonial evidence. Both parties of the lawsuit agreed to the $1.2 million settlement Therefore, no fraud is involved.
Now, if any of the charges against Flynn were fraudulent, the verdict could set aside.
Were what you allege are Brady violations ruled to be Brady violations by the court?
The Dems are not deterred at all. Many Dem officeholders are vowing to launch an even bigger campaign of retribution, criminal prosecutions, lawsuits, etc. (even bigger than what happened during the Biden regime) if they ever get back into power.
The Democrat base is fully onboard with all this:
https://newrepublic.com/article/207597/democrats-need-post-trump-plan-here-one-works
Truth.
Yep, bankrupt everyone of them and put them out on the street.
Democrats get the political benefit and pass the costs to their enemy, the American taxpayer–lather, rinse, repeat.
Transfer their assets to Gen. Flynn!
Didn’t Peter Strozxk get MUCH more??
There should have been compensatory and punitive damages awarded.
You’re right. It’s more symbolic than windfall.
The $1.2 million was probably just solely for attorney fees — I’ve learned they are the most not ones who “win” most of the time.
Class actions suits against a big corporation: attorney’s = multiple millions of dollars, plaintiff’s wronged = $3.13 and only if you respond to the postcard or email
Wrong. As an attorney who has sued the DOJ I can tell you that attorney’s fees are capped at 20%.
Attorneys fees aren’t capped at 20%. Workmen’s compensation attorney fees are capped at 30%. Most attorneys charge 33 to 50 percent of any settlement. And often charge for the costs of litigation filing fees printing costs like 50 cents a page for thousands of pages and anything else possible.
https://www.americanbar.org/groups/business_law/resources/business-law-today/2017-april/ten-rules-every-lawyer-and-client-should-know-about-taxes-on-leg/
1.2 m. Ha, lucky if that cover attorney fees. Poor guy.
I just read that his attorneys fees were like $5Million!
The old school tough guys used to tell them “if you rush it, you won’t have to pay it” and “I got more time than money” as they got comfortable on a cot with three hots for what was going to be a long time; however, I don’t recommend that as the one’s who do the best have good representation and walk carefully through the process. And, a full presidential pardon helps!!!
$1.2 million is a pittance. Wow.
Flynn could not be expected to serve while he was still bankrupted and fighting back.
Justice will not be truly served until the government officials who did this to him are behind bars. But, they are probably still too well protected for that. They will “endlessly investigate” official wrongdoing, even map out the whole caper in correct and exhaustive detail, then consistently do nothing about it.
The IRS will probably make him pay the taxes on the settlement before receiving the settlement. That’s what they did to a friend I’ve been helping. The judge allowed the IRS to do this. We now have to go to an appeals court. The IRS has no guard rails, they can do what they want and federal judges play brain dead.
That judge has no guard rails, either. A lot of that going around.
I was paid a settlement from my Washington DC based Jesuit High School. The settlement was not taxable.
Yes- this is almost certainly taxable.
Attorney fees and punitive damages are always taxable.
May God bless him and give him peace and joy.
Stunningly low. It seems like his gracious statement of thankfulness was somewhat excessive compared to the paltry and miserly settlement amount.
God Bless Mike Flynn.
I’ve wondered why he wasn’t back in the administration. The reason you give makes sense. Also, the administration could hardly settle his claim while he was on the payroll
Could it also be for current appearance with some of the anti-semitic, anti-Christian zionist crew at Catholic event ie. Owens, Boller, etc.? BTW God WAS the first Zionist, and has NEVER taken back His biblical forever covenant with His beloved people – yes, today’s Jewish people of the prophesied diaspora and those who have returned to His/their land, just added (grafted) us gentiles in. Hard to trust anyone with these undercurrents of ancient evil (think WWII, etc.) swirling. People who are not ignorant of scripture are not deceived by it.
He lose his house and his legal fees had to be incredible. The paltry sum seems insulting.
They should have given him 10 times that.
Strzok and Page got $1M, Strzok got $800,000 and Page got $200,000 and they never should have gotten a penny, b/c they used government phones on government time. If the DOJ could claw that back it should go to Flynn. JMO
I think the Biden DOJ paid McCabe too?!
Strozk and Page had a “friendly” lawsuit with the Biden DOJ. They claimed they were damaged, and made a claim and the Biden DoJ simply agreed to pay it. It was a lawsuit among friends.
with our taxdollars.
Will Flynn take your advice…and the rightful if not paltry settlement for the malicious hell inflicted upon him and his family….then, having had his quiet life restored as best as it can be, retreat to what every anonymity is possible?
I briefly caught some information yesterday that said he has aligned himself with a Pac which, shall I describe it, as one antithetical to all things Trump. I have no idea if what I read is true or not, but nevertheless I am dropping it here. If he has, then he is a fool and hasn’t learned anything from the brutal, bankrupting lessons delivered to him.
For the sake of his long suffering family, I hope he sees this thread and takes your well intentioned, wise advice.
Betsy, I think he is in the Tucker Confusion Crew.
I 🙏🏻 many of them will come to their senses and return to MAGA very soon. Perhaps the General will too.
Tucker and Candace, however, are clearly brain-dead now. I used to enjoy listening to Tucker’s interviews a great deal but the moment he went neverTrumper publicly I dropped him forever.
So sad.
Bongino mentioned the same about the Pac yesterday along with whom Jr is associating with, attributed it to cashing in on the grift of the day. Interesting timing to accept the settlement probably initially offered months ago.
1.2 million???
Damn low for what they did to him.
This is sad. Not only did Mr. Flynn get shortchanged, bankrupted, and reputation ruined OUR National Security Advisor was victimized by criminal behavior of the Justice Department. Understand no person is being held criminally liable for any of this. It’s basically a ho hum parking ticket. The current Justice Dept is shameful.

One must wonder if the above issue had anything to do with the low settlement amount.
Sundance taking down Flynn… pure legend. Has it been a year ago, already?
(This is a repost of a comment I have just made which went to approval because of an early morning fat finger that altered my address…I’ve caught my error and corrected.)
Will Flynn take your advice…and the rightful if not paltry settlement for the malicious hell inflicted upon him and his family… then, having had his quiet life restored as best as it can be, retreat to whatever anonymity is possible?
I briefly caught some information yesterday that said he has aligned himself with a political Pac which, shall I describe it, as one antithetical to all things Trump and especially to President Trump himself. I have no idea if what I read is true or not, but nevertheless I am dropping it here. If he has, then he is a fool, a stupid man, and hasn’t learned anything from the brutal, bankrupting lessons delivered to him.
For the sake of his long suffering family, I hope he sees this thread and takes your well intentioned, wise advice to heart.
Thank you, Sundance. Agreed.
Can he go away now? The 1.2 million is a tell to me. Seems low. I think for a reason.
$1.2 mil? He settled way too cheap.
I bet it was take it or leave it.
The democrats know that the republicans will never have the balls to try this. They got their weaponized government and now know that it won’t be done to them. Democrats never learn unless the same is done to them.
All the republicans care about is Israel and cheap foreign labor to replace the only demographic in America that votes Republican White America born men.
I know it would be so, so difficult with your family being threatened BUT I would expect more steel in the spine of a general. It always seemed like he caved too easily. In my mind, he would always be a weak link.
Let’s not forget the judge in his case…Emmett Sullivan, who, when the DOJ moved to dismiss the charges, refused to dismiss and decided that he, himself, would hire a retired judge, to prosecute the case…
This was a screw from day 1…should have gotten more…1.2M seems way low…
Former attorney Lin Wood has described various incidents in his contacts with Flynn that do not leave Flynn looking like a White Hat type of guy. Maybe there is something to that.
Lin Wood surfaces? Wasn’t he flamboyant.
Maybe. Still, he probably has more integrity than 99% of our government officials.
$1.2MM? Are you serious. They destroyed this man’s life. It has to be worth more than $1.2MM. He should have hired a better lawyer.
That was from “a person familiar with the matter”. Which basically means it’s a made-up figure.
1 out of a 50 is pretty low but Michael Flynn has also benefited in other ways for this wrong doing. Perhaps he and his family believe, as do I, that reputation is far better than money. His has been restored.
He got gypped!
It’s about time the Gypsies took some pressure off of the J’s.
He was the first notch in the FBI’s belt on the incoming Trump admin. Pence gave the assist. We should have seen then that Pence was bad news.
Lots here did.
I lament that it took me longer.
Me, too.
Somebody told Manafort to pick Pence for Trump and then make the pick public. It was never adequately explained.

Flynn is a brave victim of the Russia Hoax. And now we see the Israeli hoax being embraced by the antisemitic wing of the conservative movement.
These dirtbags are as bad as the Russia hoaxers. They accuse Charle Kirk’s wife of ordering a hit on her husband, or maybe it was muh Israel! Erica Kirk is evil! Anyone can see she isn’t in mourning! All-knowing Joe Kent wants to testify! He doesn’t care if Charlie’s assassin is freed.
Sadly, these lost souls are just useful idiots of liberals — used to divide Republicans before the midterms, destroy Turning Point USA, and dehumanize one of our greatest presidents ever.
Didn’t Flynn have some financial foreign business going on with his son that he didn’t disclose to Trump, which didn’t sit well when the fake scam began? It seems like this muddied the water.
Turkish government stuff. It was the kind of things lobbyists do all the time, but they must file under FARA to do that kind of work. Typically, FARA is rarely enforced, and is an old statute, but still on the books and can be prosecuted even with the appearance of SELECTIVELY prosecuting the law.
I have been following this on Sundance’s X.
Flynn followed the letter of the law in regards to registering his lobbying.
But he used a dodge that a rule had been made against. He was hired to lobby for a European company and registered as such. But the company was owned by a crony of the leader of Turkey and he lobbied for Turkey.
The rule required lobbying on behalf of foreign governments to register on FARA. Must have been an oft used dodge to get such a ruling.
Flynn set it straight after all the hoopla, registering FARA after the fact.
This was the weakness that the special counsel used to bankrupt Flynn then move on to prosecute Flynn’s son.
Remember, he had followed the law. He had registered prior to lobbying. But per a ruling his registration was insufficient.
This was separate to accused misbehavior, accusations of lying, etc.
By bankrupting him and extorting him with prosecution of his son, they forced him to falsely admit to lying. They also promised that neither he nor his son would do time. They reneged.
But it was DOJ evidence that the lying charge was falsified that got DOJ to exonerate him.
Because the judge was biased, refusing to accept DOJ exhoneration, that Trump had to pardon him.
Sundance followed all that in real time. But his prior problem had to deal with Flynn maintaining his dodge.
Flynn failed to inform Trump of Flynn’s conflicts of interest.
That has nothing to do with the Flynns being persecuted nor of Flynn being forced to plead guilty of crimes he did not commit. Crimes the crooked prosecutors knew never happened.
And Sundance is magnanimous in not bringing up those details when congratulating Flynn on winning these damages for having been maliciously prosecuted.
They are separate issues after all.
It is sad. Using a legal dodge to disguise his lobbying left him vulnerable, even after Flynn had amended his filings. It was a weakness that the evil special counsel exploited.
It is not clear to me that being more above board would have saved Flynn. The evil went to extreme lengths to frame him.
I recall too, that he mentored/promoted some woman to inside the dc bubble hierarchy whose judgement/allegiance was also very un/MAGA questionable. ??
I have no problem with Gen. Flynn being compensated for unjust actions, but it’s no skin off the asses of the ones who were responsible. Robert Mueller just died, so seize his assets and give them to Gen. Flynn, and while they’re at it, incarcerate Andrew Weissman, Norm Eisen, Mary McCord, and the other lawfare “beach friends” and give their assets to Gen. Flynn.
I don’t see why we should have to pay for their corruption.
Should have settled for much more.
What a bunch of skin flynts.
This is the value of a man’s reputation?
Gen Flynn deserves a ton more than this dollar amount let alone all the Stuff he and his family have went thru.
I have always been amazed at how criminals in government break laws and the U.S. taxpayers foot the bill for all their wrong doing and are never financially responsible.
Seems the Department Of Injustice has no problem quietly regurgitating billions like the Promise Program ( Parkland punk 49 police in counters) to police departments to not arrest youth no matter how many times thru out this country and this is a UN program Osama and Lynch ran thru.
Why did the U.S. taxpayers shell out many many millions to the families of Sandy Hook ?
Upside down and absolutely no oversight in an agency run amok.
Let alone all the Pro Bono (Taxpayers) shyster from the Department Of Injustice that represent criminals in Government.
That settlement figure doesn’t sound right. There are compensation and then damages in settlements. You pay no federal taxes on damage awards. This wouldn’t even cover his legal bills. I certainly wish General Flynn the best and a long and prosperous life.
“Flynn’s post-term-1 Achilles heel has been his financial reliance on an audience.”
Think of those that have suffered because they were not in a position to be helped by an audience.
THIS*
Considering that General Flynn’s direct statement that he and his family have spent over $5 MILLION over 10 years in their defense…this “settlement” doesn’t even begin to redress damages. Personally, I’d consider it an insult.
Just to restate the obvious: it’s the lawfare process that is the punishment. How dare he enter the White House and tell President Trump the truth.
“There should never again be such a brazen attempt to weaponize federal law enforcement against political opponents or innocent citizens.”
Leftists have been saying for over a year now that once they are back in power they are going to ruthlessly round-up all President Trump supporters and make us suffer like we made them suffer.
They will be those who brazenly weaponize any and every law — or pretend laws they make-up — to pay us back.
We have never made them suffer. They want to suffer, they choose to suffer, they cannot deal with reality and so they suffer, rant and rave.
Still, I pray there will never again be a time in our country where weaponizing our government against its citizens is acceptable to anyone.
Didn’t Mike Pence commit false witness.
how many times is the broader question.
back of envelope, counting telling lies before a public audience and not under oath…about 200 times.
Mike DENSE is one of the worst kinds of mf’ers. I have everything about that nunce
God Bless America
“Michael Flynn was investigated by Robert Mueller and prosecuted, wrongly, for lying to FBI agents Peter Strzok and Bill Priestap about the content of his phone call with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.”
First, I never heard before or I simply missed that Bill Priestap was the one who accompanied Peter Strok to have their little “conversation” with Flynn.
Second, that settlement money is going to go all to the lawyers.
” Flynn’s post-term-1 Achilles heel has been his financial reliance on an audience. ”
that is UNFAIR. Please I consider this a knock on a good man who tried his heart best to guide this country and this President with the absolute best possible inside baseball information about the corruoption that exists inside the FBI and the intelligence Agency. There is a reason why RADM Rogers and LTGEN Flynn ARE FRIENDS. United because they shared the same passion about the constitution and protecting the interests and security of the United States.
Please lets start appreciating that, if for no other reason.
Of course he is going to try to make money doing speaking engagements. How else do you expect him to tell his side of the story and to also make back some hard losses due to the dematerilazation that the lawfare and Comey scofflaws have cost him. Those are real losses.
1 million dollars may sound like a lot of money. That hardly paid for one year or defense attorney fees.
LTGEN Flynn helped to protect my brother and his entire team when meeting the enemy well before the established so called green zone in Bagdad. You might have heard about that. But what you need to know is that my brother is alive and most of his team are alive because LTGEN against all odds, took off the gloves and used new ideas and strategies to repel the infidels also called ISIS/Iran insurrectionists who were targeting every single American soldier in country.
Today, I have a brother alive and doing well because of the efforts of LTGEN Flynn. He is not a bad person. He IS a true American Patriot, a Christian soldier, who understood more than anyone else how to deal with a determined enemy and give our American Soldiers an advantage. I believe he deserves so much more that petty insults. Not from this great group. He was a very important person who rallied the troops to recognize that President Trump was a good vote. We cannot pretend to forget that.
He has never one single time betrayed his oath of office, Never once reversed his pledge to make America great again.
So please, can we please stop this nonsense that he is questionable.
He got slammed to the curb and it wrecked his entire familty. I dare anyone here to say they have ever experienced anything near that level of torment and persecution.
I will always support LTGEN Flynn for these reasons. These are solely my own opinions. I share them because I care about this man and his family. I also speak for my brother, who does not want to do social media or even talk about what he went through. But just know it was rough bunch of years even after the kinetics ended. For people who have loved ones who experienced this toll, you know what I am talking about. It is no small thing to try and get your brother back, back home, and healthy after so much violence and chaos. LTGEN Flynn is a hero for doing what no one else thought possible. he was inspiring because his strategies worked and Soldiers could operate in a safer condition because this man wasn’t sitting behind a desk counting numbers and pushing emails and trying to score points. He was IN THE HEAT and learning quickly the ways of the enemy and producing near real time intelligence that could be used with great success nearly every single time.
Hey Big Bro. I love you and I know you do too. Now it’s my turn to help and I hope you appreciate me doing this.
God Bless America
Absolutely agree 100%. And if we are going to start labeling people as liabilities because they aren’t rich and do things to earn money, then let’s cast that net wide and fairly. Bondi with her lobbying for a Gulf state. Bongino with his books and podcasts. Same for Patel. How about insider trading? I think the real reason Gen. Flyn got such a pittance is because he is not an enthusiastic cheerleader for for the larger Israeli agenda and the war in Iran.
Tierney’s Real News today takes on the recent split within MAGA, citing some of the same people sundance has (including the General) with the term “grifters.”
It’s possible some listed, including the General, are caught in crossfire of this statement. I am keeping an open mind and applying a ton of salt.
Just wondering what others here might think…
https://tierneyrealnewsnetwork.substack.com/p/the-grift-within-maga
My only complaint is that we the taxpayers are paying Flynn rather than corrupt actors who targeted him.
Isn’t 1.2 mil what they paid to Peter Strzok?
I’m wondering how much of the info gathered from this lawsuit and it’s settlement can be used for purposes and goings on with U.S. Attorney Jason A. Reding Quiñones in Florida?
I was just thinking along similar lines, that maybe the full weight of justice in this and related matters is not quite yet complete.
GLORY BE TO GOD!!! GOD IS RESTORING JUSTICE AND EXACTING PUNISHMENT ON THOSE WHO HAVE ATTEMPTED TO DEFILE HIS CHILDREN!!!
From Brian Cates on Truth Social:
BTW, about the Flynn settlement from the DOJ, a lot of people are saying “Aw gee, $1.25 mil? That’s all?”

They don’t understand that this had to happen first, the DOJ had to admit culpability for a wrongful and malicious prosecution that should have never been brought before he can take the next step of suing the individual plotters.

Not when the DOJ literally just publicly CONFESSED you participated in planning and executing a criminal scheme using official LEO/Intel agency powers to target an innocent man and his family.

You don’t get to say that shit any more.

Iran is bombed. Hysteria mounts. Trump is a puppet of Israel!
The science is settled …
Good for him. If he has an audience it’s probably because they bankrupted him and he lost his house in the persecution of him.
I wish something could be done about that judge who wanted to become his prosecutor. Sidney Powell really did her best.
