Earlier today, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order creating the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, which will advise the President and coordinate government-wide efforts to combat widespread fraud, waste, and abuse in Federal benefit programs. [Executive Order Here]
According to the White House – The Vice President will serve as Chair of the Task Force, the Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission will serve as Vice Chairman, the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security will serve as Senior Advisor, and an Executive Director will manage daily operations. Relevant cabinet secretaries and heads of government agencies will serve as Task Force members.
The Order directs the Task Force, on behalf of the President, to coordinate a comprehensive national strategy to stop fraud, waste, and abuse across Federal benefit programs, including housing, food, medical care, and cash assistance administered with State and local partners, in order to protect these benefits for eligible Americans.
The Task Force will coordinate measures to improve eligibility verification, implement pre-payment controls, detect high-risk fraud trends, and disrupt and dismantle fraud networks and the mechanisms through which fraud is committed.
The Task Force will also coordinate development of minimum anti-fraud requirements to prevent exploitation of taxpayer-funded benefits, including proof of identity and documentation requirements, risk controls, and audit and remedial actions, while each member agency’ works to develop a measurable implementation plan.
The Task Force will provide frequent updates to the President regarding its work. (read more)

A year ago POTUS suggested we could cut our military spending in half ($1 Trillion per year currently); recently he spoke of expanding it to $1.5 Trillion!

I’m convinced this is a major part of the reason that Obama, at the end of his term, got on that call with all the major media people and let it out that Donald Trump must NOT get 2 consecutive terms. He even intimated that 2 split terms was somewhat acceptable but not 2 consecutives. This is why the fraud of 2020 was put in place. 2 consecutive terms means PDJT would have had 8 straight years to get his people in place to clean up government.

It’s ASTONISHING what he has accomplished! He had 4 years to plan and hit the ground running—actually sprinting! The wins are TREMENDOUS—FAR more than if he had consecutive terms. What he learned and what he planned over those first 8 years (4 in office, 4 out of office) gave him a huge advantage. Just imagine what he could do if the republicans actually supported him. These programs were designed for – well, what were they designed for? They were designed to help younger people who found themselves disabled from work injuries or cancer to be able to maintain what meager living conditions they had. Jobs dried up in the economy from the 1960’s onward (about every ten years jobs dry up – admit it). The only problem was, they only rewarded sickness and disability so people slowly made themselves sicker and more disabled. Remember those beggars in the Bible who begged from the crevices? The Lord said, “The poor you will always have with you.” The federal government jobs were a step in the right direction, as these terminally unemployable people were gradually given jobs they could not be removed from. There are no jobs out here. So, these people will end up on Medicaid and welfare and Section 8. It is a vicious circle.
Cutting half would be better than doing nothing.

I voted for this and I measure actions/results rather than just talk but I ask: Would a President Harris or President Biden or President Obama have even thought of eliminating fraud or abuse using a task force? At least our VSG President Trump is going head-on and doing something about it. I say give President Trump a chance to let these Cabinet leaders, advisors and Vice President Vance get their feet wet and see what they can do…As the Border Czar Vice President Harris failed miserably, maybe on purpose. I think Vice President Vance begins leaving his mark with hopefully good results from this task force and uses it as part of his platform for 2028 Presidential campaign. He might even extend working on fraud and abuse during his future term with more experience as well.

Most of the people have to reapply every year. It is the basis of fraud that is never checked up on. They continue to lie about who their landlord is. How much they make under the table. How disabled they are while working full-time. How many dependents they have, etc., etc., etc.

Citizens have to realize that the fraud, waste and abuse starts at the lowest level of government. The school district where I live bought around 90K Chromebooks for every student above grade 3 in our district. Just that one program is so open to fraud it is mind boggling. Every NGO needs to be audited and examined for their stewardship of the funds they receive, . . every one. The Hospice care scandal is truly maddening, using folks on their deathbed to make a crooked buck is beyond reprehensible. Here in Houston, the County Judge is catching well deserved flack for requesting special tickets to our Rodeo, to the tune of $9,000, and then had the gaul to try to force her way into a special ticket enclave, ($425 per ticket) with six guests. Entitlement needs to be shamed out of existence.
Truly amazing to me how much people can rationalize and justify “expenditures” that benefit them, or their immediate family members, while railing against such practices relating to “everyone else”!!
Many years ago, I was asked to take over Children’s Ministries at our small Evangelical church…probably 10 hours a week at most to organize lessons and coordinate teachers. The woman I replaced gushed about a week long vacation she and her husband had taken to Florida the year before, completely paid for by “the church” as she had attended a seminar the first day put on by a Sunday School Curriculum company. She saw NOTHING wrong with this and didn’t understand why I had an issue with it – stayed in the job for less than a year and we left the church shortly thereafter…
Are we trying to weed out fraud just to save the government, money? I think that is likely the goal. It’s not to put anyone in prison, although all of them need to be there. I get the feeling it’s not about justice for the people who have suffered because of the fraud but, rather than to say “look, we got 15 billion back” and just ignore the people and send 15 billion going to Israel.

In order to eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse, you have to follow the money. In order to follow the money, you have to have access to the corresponding data. Not only do the states fight tooth and nail to keep from giving what day they have to the feds, I’m willing to bet that most of them aren’t collecting the data they’re required to by federal law. I say this from a place of some experience as I work at a relatively high level on the inside in this field. The administration must make the states understand that they are serious about oversight and follow through on penalties for non-compliance, but the bureaucracy and courts are against them at every turn. Regardless, the administration must fight for accountability and see the fight through to the end (whatever that looks like).

I took note when President Trump mentioned more than once that states need to be responsible. Right now they suck the money from the federal government. It has become a game to see how much they can grab and funnel to their desired results.
Somehow I keep seeing Vance as a go-along-to-get-along and glad-handing guy (and from his short speech the second in command as well). I sincerely hope I’m wrong because this is a chance to achieve at least some change. I was wrong about Rubio so I’m trying to keep an open mind. I hope Vance will build on top of what Musk did.
The best would be for a miracle to happen in Congress so that President Trump’s ideas for health insurance would be enacted. Along with that I’m sure President Trump has ideas for changing from the top down the system that now supports fraud. To get the kind of seismic change the President is achieving in foreign relations, we must find a way to install at least a majority of a different Congress.

First time I’ve read an Executive Order since I retired. It’s clear as day. In audit the Executive Order would be named the “criteria.” The “Condition”, “Cause” and “Effect” are all to be determined.
Personally, I do not believe that that condition of people defrauding the government of $$$ is limited to illegal immigrants by any stretch of my imagination. If a certain type of human understands how to get $$$ from the government they will doso. I personally know one Anglo whose been getting money for their now adult children all of their lives. They are in their 50’s and 60’s now..
From what can only I guess is these benefits is because their father had bad sperm and caused them to be dyslexic or some other amorphous condition no one can explain. I couldn’t make this story up if I tried. It goes on to these days. End of RANT.

Federal benefit programs ARE fraud. There is nothing in the US Constitution that allows the federal government to pay out “welfare” social benefits to individuals.

This will be interesting to watch; almost as if we are watching an episode of The Apprentice-Politics Edition as a way to give a task to the Vice President the public can watch to see results which then can be compared to the tasks the Secretary of State has been able to show results on;
and am expecting this will be the first of many tasks that VP Vance will be given since Sec. Rubio has had so many in the first year of the Administration.

This could be the only way to stop VA “disability” fraud. Too many veterans are drawing 100% VA Disability..all while doing the exact same job as they did in the military. How can someone be considered “100% disabled” and be “able” to do the exact same job they did before? Because they’re scamming the system, that’s how. Social Security Disability has limits on the income you can earn. VA “disability” has no such limits. And, we’re not talking about small amounts of money…VA pays almost 5,000/mo. for 100% “disabled” vice $1200-$1500/mo SSDI. No politician could ever win on “auditing the VA Disability program”. However, a “fraud” taskforce is a safe way to achieve the needed goal of ending, or at least reducing, the massive amount of fraud in the entitlement programs.
It is compensation for lost wage earning capacities due to injuries received in the U.S. military. Do you want legless and armless and faceless veterans to be crawling through the streets like after the Civil War and World War II?

Those veterans are 100% disabled protecting your right to come here and complain about it! My father served almost 30 years in the Navy, was exposed to nuclear radiation because of a faulty badge showing he was not being exposed, and was unable to collect 100% disability until about 6 months before he passed away from bladder cancer and other complications. My parents struggled trying to enjoy a reasonably comfortable life after he had given the best part of his years for his country that he loved!

This is a very interesting conversation. So many negative comments. I do understand where that sentiment comes from—much past history of congressional investigations going nowhere.
There have been some very excellent comments giving encouragement. I’m in this camp. The first thing we need to do is expose it. Yes, we knew there was a wide amount of corruption—but I’m guessing not as wide as we are seeing right now—it’s ASTONISHING.
This is similar to the exposure of the fake news. We knew it was bad but not as corrupt as it is. They’ve been discredited and sit right there with democrats at a very low approval rating.
I like the way Bessie2003 put it, it’s like political apprentice. He’s putting JD in a position to prove himself. We’ll see how he does. He’s done the same with others. Two notables that have stepped up and seemed to prove themselves are Marco and Tulsi. I’m also cautiously optimistic about RFK, Oz and the other doctor.
VP has been saying a lot of correct things and representing POTUS around the world pretty well. He’s also very well spoken and can speak off the cuff almost as well as his boss—almost.
So, I believe, as others have mentioned, this is his watershed moment. We’ll see how and what he delivers.
But not only what and how he delivers it, but almost as importantly is the reaction and the cooperation and backing, or lack thereof of the rino crowd. How much gets done. How much support he has. Is it the same ole same ole as everyone suspects, with the typical “support” from the rinos?
Or will it actually accomplish something? A minimum of huge exposure. While I would love to see accountability if the form of prosecution, I’m NOT expecting that. That would just be the cherry on top.
