Israel Update
~We had a tough 24 hours, with dozens of rockets from Lebanon and a few ballistic missiles from Iran. Some large rockets from Lebanon reached the center of Israel. One attack killed two people. They happened to be two Arab workers at a construction site. In the previous incident where someone was killed, the victim was also a Chinese worker. Just noting.

So far in this war we have 12 killed, 4 badly wounded, over 8 moderately wounded, and more than one hundred lightly wounded.

Estimates are that Hezbollah intends to escalate. Yesterday I said Israel needs to decide whether to go all in or just degrade them and count on the fall of their Iranian sponsor.

Today, from a discussion between the Defense Minister and the Northern Command, I am hearing the second option.

This is a difficult decision. On one hand, we are trying to focus on Iran. Israel is not a very large military, and many soldiers have been fighting for two years and are tired.

On the other hand, whatever we leave today will grow and come back against us later. I am still not sure that we will not take over South Lebanon and create a buffer zone. This is not clear right now. I do see some frustration among the population, which wants a “root treatment” and not a “patch.”

The last time we hit Hezbollah very hard and killed their leader Nasrallah, along with the beeper operation, it came after they fired a rocket at a soccer field and killed about 12 children in a Druze village, people we consider brothers. The formulas of the past are no longer acceptable to the population. Waiting for a mass-casualty event to justify action is a bad formula.

~Lebanon / Hezbollah: 486 killed in Lebanon, 1,313 injured since Hezbollah decided to fire at Israel. These are reported as Shia and Hezbollah.

~I am hearing from my sources that we had a major miracle today. We were close to a disaster with the rockets.

~The IDF is putting on a “spectacle” in Beirut in the Shia area and is flattening dozens of large buildings—about 35 buildings of eight stories or higher. I am sure the buildings were identified as related to Hezbollah, but it is also psychological pressure. More Hezbollah banks were attacked as well.

~The head of Iran’s Space Force announced that from now on they will use only missiles of no less than one ton, and in larger quantities. Note that he just placed a target on his own head. This is extremely evil—to randomly aim a one-ton missile at a populated area.

~A report that the new Supreme Leader was badly injured earlier. Two areas of broken leg, shoulder injury and more.  I saw an image but I can’t tell if it’s authentic. But the idea that is injured is not new and likely true.  

~Trump: Trump is giving conflicting statements. On one hand he says “we are almost done with the war”.  On the other hand he says “we will not stop until we defeat them”. 
Later he defined a “victory” as when “Iran is lacking the ability to produce weapons against the US, Israel and other allies for a long time”.  

There is also a report that he may reduce sanctions on Russian oil in order to reduce international oil prices. Trump spoke with Putin today.

The oil price dived from over a $100 per barrel to around $85, following Trump’s latest speech.  

Trump also posted a very strong threat against any attempt by Iran to block the Strait of Hormuz. 
Note that about 20% of the world’s oil passes through it. It is clear that Iran is using oil as a key strategic tool. But today Trump is very much in an “I won’t let a bully mess with me” mode.

~IDF: An attack on six Iranian airports. Many airplanes and helicopters destroyed.

~IDF: A wave of attacks—170 bombs on Tehran, Shiraz, and Isfahan, targeting IRGC headquarters, a missile manufacturing site, and a drone base. There was also a second wave of attacks on Iran today.

In the last wave, the IAF may have used electromagnetic bombs. Electromagnetic bombs disable computers and communication systems. This is not news.  This is what I suspect when I watch the following video and others.  See for yourself:

~Hezbollah is using the Lebanese military as a human shield and firing at Israel from locations close to their bases. The Lebanese military had given the U.S. the impression that they were working to disarm Hezbollah. I said all along that this was not true. Only Israel can deal with Hezbollah. See the video.

Conclusion: A typical collision between an Islamic jihadist worldview and a Western power.

One side is willing to suffer endlessly and sacrifice a great deal for its religious goals, and it is patient.

The other side is much more powerful but less willing to accept sacrifice, and is more sensitive to factors such as economics, public opinion, and the desire for quiet.

Where is this all heading? Only God knows.

But God is with us. It seems to me that either Iran will be punished with internal and/or external conflict and decline, or the country will change and gain its freedom.

Good Morning all! Thank you for your prayers. They worked!

In recovery my BP dropped to near dangerous levels for a short time and I felt pretty poorly but within to minutes it was all good.

Here I am at home 12 hours after I was on the operating table for an abdominal hernia about the size of a softball posting. Sure I’m on hydrocodone(In 1/2 hour I’m due for another pill) but the fact that I am even able to stand, walk, pee in a toilet sit in this chair for an hour or more, and the occasional cough, is far more than I expected.

These belly bands they give you really help a lot but I still keep a firm pillow with me to press against the 4″ long incision.

I am sore in other places in my abdomen also because of course they moved some things around to get them back to their original places.

But over all I am far far better than I thought I would be at this point. I think being 194 lb. and 6′ and thus well within the limits of normal height to weight helped.

COMMENNTARY FOR JEREMIAH 1:5

Jeremiah was a priest, a native of Anathoth, in the tribe of Benjamin. He was called to the prophetic office when very young, about seventy years after the death of Isaiah, and exercised it for about forty years with great faithfulness, till the sins of the Jewish nation came to their full measure and destruction followed. The prophecies of Jeremiah do not stand as they were delivered. Blayney has endeavoured to arrange them in more regular order, namely, ch. 1-20; 22; 23; 25; 26; 35; 36; 45; 24; 29; 30; 31; 27; 28; 21; 34; 37; 32; 33; 38; 39; (ver. 15-18, 1-14.) 40-44; 46-52. The general subject of his prophecies is the idolatry and other sins of the Jews; the judgments by which they were threatened, with references to their future restoration and deliverance, and promises of the Messiah. They are remarkable for plain and faithful reproofs, affectionate expostulations, and awful warnings.Jeremiah’s call to the prophetic office. 

(1-10) A vision of an almond-tree and of a seething-pot, Divine protection is promised. (11-19)1-10 Jeremiah’s early call to the work and office of a prophet is stated. He was to be a prophet, not to the Jews only, but to the neighbouring nations. He is still a prophet to the whole world, and it would be well if they would attend to these warnings. The Lord who formed us, knows for what particular services and purposes he intended us. But unless he sanctify us by his new-creating Spirit, we shall neither be fit for his holy service on earth, nor his holy happiness in heaven. It becomes us to have low thoughts of ourselves. Those who are young, should consider that they are so, and not venture beyond their powers. But though a sense of our own weakness and insufficiency should make us go humbly about our work, it should not make us draw back when God calls us. Those who have messages to deliver from God, must not fear the face of man. The Lord, by a sign, gave Jeremiah such a gift as was necessary. God’s message should be delivered in his own words. Whatever wordly wise men or politicians may think, the safety of kingdoms is decided according to the purpose and word of God.

11-19 God gave Jeremiah a view of the destruction of Judah and Jerusalem by the Chaldeans. The almond-tree, which is more forward in the spring than any other, represented the speedy approach of judgments. God also showed whence the intended ruin should arise. Jeremiah saw a seething-pot boiling, representing Jerusalem and Judah in great commotion. The mouth or face of the furnace or hearth, was toward the north; from whence the fire and fuel were to come. The northern powers shall unite. The cause of these judgments was the sin of Judah. The whole counsel of God must be declared. The fear of God is the best remedy against the fear of man. Better to have all men our enemies than God our enemy; those who are sure they have God with them, need not, ought not to fear, whoever is against them. Let us pray that we may be willing to give up personal interests, and that nothing may move us from our duty.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

This is Marcus, and his accidental service dog, Gunner. Marcus served 3 deployments to Afghanistan.

For years, he’s woken up at 3am, drenched in sweat, convinced he’s in back in Kandahar.

Gunner came to the family when his owner passed away, which was a neighbor of Marcus.

On the first night they had him, Marcus had a nightmare, and Gunner immediately jumped on his chest, and laid on him. For the first time in years, Marcus didn’t thrash, and was able to just breath, despite almost 80lbs of weight on him. Gunner laid on him for 2hrs+ that night.

Marcus’s wife had urged him to get help for years. She was able to catch it on recording, to show to his counselor. The counselor told them what Gunner was doing was called “Pressure Therapy”…which is what PTSD service dogs are trained to do. Gunner never had training. He just had instincts, and an instant bond. The term, “Man’s best friend” doesn’t cut it sometimes.

Praise Your holy name Heavenly Father, for granting yet another day in my life and for being with me every step of the way. Thank You for the many blessings that You have provided and the love and fellowship that I have with the friends and family that in Your grace You have placed in my life.
 
My heart is so thankful for all the many blessings that I enjoy day by day, and today I am once again reminded that Your mercies are new every morning and Your faithfulness endures from generation to generation.
 
Thank You, that I have been brought into Your family and have been made a child of God and a citizen of heaven. Words cannot express my love and devotion to You Lord

Prayer Of Reflection On The Past Day

Loving Lord, as the day is coming to an end, I want to thank You for being with me in all that has taken place today. I also want to lay the whole day before You, asking that you would show me if there is anything that I have done to hurt or harm another person unknowingly, or if I have done anything that is displeasing in Your sight, or quenched the work of the Spirit in me, so that I may turn away from such things in the days that lie ahead.

Lord, I desire to do Your will in all things. I pray that You would cleanse me of any wrong thoughts or attitudes that may have surfaced in my heart today. Wash me in Your cleansing flood, I pray. 

Thank You, that You are a God who forgives our transgressions when we are willing to confess them to You, knowing that such cleansing before You immediately draws us back into sweet fellowship with Yourself. 

Give me a good night’s rest I pray, and may I rest quietly in Your loving arms in the knowledge that in Christ, I am eternally secure, due to Your amazing grace, for which I praise You. In Jesus’ name,

Evening Prayer For Forgiveness

Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.
 
Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
 
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.
 
Give me a good night’s sleep I pray, knowing that there is no condemnation because I am in Christ, and may I wake up in the morning refreshed and ready to do Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray,
