The United States together with the State of Israel have begun major military combat operations against Iran. Early reports indicate several top Iranian military leaders have been killed. President Trump made the announcement moments ago (video below):
According to the Associated Press (AP) “The U.S. strikes took place from both air and sea, according to a U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss ongoing military operations.”

I had the privilege of working with a a DC based employee of our company who was an Army warrant officer assigned to the embassy when it was taken over. He and several US Marines were together during that 444 day ordeal. He was a tremendous individual and soldier.
I was in uniform when we tried to rescue our people. After active duty, I was a 5th Fleet reservist for 7 years and spent considerable time on Manama, Bahrain at the base. This morning, it was sobering to see the munition detonate on ground I walked on… This has gone on for years and years.
As a grandfather with 27 years of service in Naval aviation aboard carriers and such flying fighters, I want peace as badly as anyone does; especially for those who have to fight; the folks that too often pay a terrible price along with their families when war comes.
That written, I can’t see how we had another choice given the 47 years of Iran’s kinetic, blood shedding terror in the world and the alarming progress to have a nuclear weapon with a delivery vehicle to attach it to. If we truly want world peace, then it is time to end the “sanctioned killing”. We have settled in a loop where foreign powers fund terrorists / juntas / warlords / cartels to simmer unrest, so that the deep state gets to fund the military forever for the US to provide passive security on the edges, so we can issue massive debt dragging the US towards despotism.
