In typical Republican fashion, it sounds like Leader Thune is leveraging the process of voting on the SAVE act as a negotiating tool to reopen government. ie. If Democrats will give on the DHS funding (open govt), then in sounds like… in exchange, Thune will just throw the SAVE act on the floor without the talking filibuster. WATCH:

I got to watch most of the state of the union speech last night. Trump sounded good, and I liked the speech and his attitude. The republicans clapped and stood, but I don’t believe even 10% of them want him to succeed.

In other words maybe Thune & Co. were part of a secret deal with Schumer from the very beginning, since neither wing of the UniParty want the SAVE ACT to pass. Do not discount that likely possibility as the GOPe UniParty leadership uses contrived smokescreens such as the Zombie Filibuster and the “Blue Slip” tradition to thwart Trump’s agenda and his initiatives, including confirmations and important legislation, without having to go on the record.

I will be surprised if it passes. I think not. But……it will be implemented, at least large parts of it through an Emergency Declaration having to do with Elections and an Executive Order. And EO by itself will not work because the demonrats just pop us the bird on that as they did with EO 107 where voter rolls were to be cleaned up by a certain date…….in which at least 21 states popped us the bird and said no or that their voters rolls were clean, which they are not.
