Afternoon dear, Bet! When I was a kid in NE Oklahoma, we could count on several snow periods—good snow days, cover for a few days then bright sunshine. Wasn’t really a snow “season” although the snow stuck around long enough be be enjoyable. I remember my dad towing my sled behind our car. Great fun but probably highly illegal nowadays . . . 🙂 Bright clear day here today. ‘Tink was excited to go out this morning. She loves to stay in “her” yard.

We get snow here in Soaz every 2 or 3 years – usually gone by noon. It’s in the mountains behind us right now. Sometimes we take the doggos up there to play in it.

Biography: Roberta Flack revolutionized popular music by blending classical training with soul, jazz, and folk to create an unmistakable sound. She remains the only solo artist to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in consecutive years, achieving this feat with “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” and “Killing Me Softly with His Song.”
Born in Black Mountain, North Carolina in 1937, Flack grew up in a musical household where her father repaired pianos and her mother played organ. Her prodigious talent emerged early – by age nine she was taking piano lessons, and at just fifteen, she earned a full music scholarship to Howard University. After graduating, she taught school while performing evening shows in Washington D.C. clubs.
Her breakthrough came when jazz musician Les McCann discovered her performing in a nightclub and arranged an audition with Atlantic Records. During this remarkable session, she performed 42 songs in three hours. Her debut album “First Take” was recorded in just ten hours, launching a career that would influence generations of musicians.
The 1970s saw Flack reach international stardom when Clint Eastwood featured “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” in his film “Play Misty for Me.” The song topped Billboard charts for six weeks in 1972. Her signature hit “Killing Me Softly with His Song” followed, earning her a second consecutive Grammy and helping define the quiet storm subgenre of R&B.
Beyond music, Flack dedicated herself to philanthropy and education, founding the Roberta Flack School of Music to provide free music education in New York. Her contributions have been widely recognized through multiple honorary doctorates and awards, including the DAR Women in American History Award in 2022.
Miss Flack announced her retirement in 2022 after being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) which has rendered her unable to sing.

Biography: Katherine Johnson was an American mathematician whose calculations were instrumental in the success of NASA’s early human spaceflight missions. She calculated the trajectory for Alan Shepard, the first American in space, and verified the calculations for John Glenn’s historic orbit around Earth. Her work was crucial for the Apollo Moon landing program and the early years of the Space Shuttle program.
Johnson was one of a small group of African-American women who worked as “human computers” at NASA, performing complex calculations that were critical for the success of space missions. Her story, along with those of fellow NASA mathematicians Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, was told in the 2016 film Hidden Figures, based on a nonfiction book of the same name by Margot Lee Shetterly.

28-38 If the Holy Ghost has made ministers overseers of the flock, that is, shepherds, they must be true to their trust. Let them consider their Master’s concern for the flock committed to their charge. It is the church He has purchased with his own blood. The blood was his as Man; yet so close is the union between the Divine and human nature, that it is there called the blood of God, for it was the blood of Him who is God. This put such dignity and worth into it, as to ransom believers from all evil, and purchase all good. Paul spake about their souls with affection and concern. They were full of care what would become of them. Paul directs them to look up to God with faith, and commends them to the word of God’s grace, not only as the foundation of their hope and the fountain of their joy, but as the rule of their walking. It is good for friends, when they part, to part with prayer. Those who exhort and pray for one another, may have many weeping seasons and painful separations, but they will meet before the throne of God, to part no more. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Good Evening, America!
I’m Donald Trump, your favorite president!
And I’m standing here tonight to let you know that I have listened to you. You’re not getting ahead like you should, too much debt, can’t afford to buy your first home, the job market has been tough—but we’re turning that around fast. You’re tired of hearing me lambast my enemies—please know, I don’t think of them as enemies, but they surely believe that I am their enemy and a threat to Democracy.
I am neither a fascist nor a racist. I am neither a dictator nor am I a King. Do you need reminding that just a few days ago, the Supreme Court voted down my tariffs? That is not my first or only loss with the courts. Yet, they are here tonight—that’s proof of something. The system works, even when it’s tough.
You know who isn’t here? 18 Democrats. By not supporting the President of the United States—whether you like me or not—is demonstrating to a generation what an actual threat to democracy looks like. I don’t need to tell you who they are, but you need to remember their names, and when you see them on your state’s ballots, please remember they chose the coward’s way out. Rather than fight me through democratic-inspired legislation—their job—they chose the nightly news roundtables and print tabloids to say what I am not.
Who is helped by that? Are you? Will it be easier to buy a house tomorrow because they didn’t show up tonight? Where are their solutions? What is their platform? I fear that in a few years, when I am no longer in the political arena and enjoying life with my beautiful Melania, they will still platform on an anti-Trump stump. Stump indeed!
Wake up, America! It’s tough to correct a nation that has veered off axis—but that’s what we are doing. Listen to these numbers—this is accountability, this is achievement, this is working for America first, second, and third.
