Good morning, Miss Aggiegirl !! I’m at work as usual in one of Boston’s hospitals tonight….and wondering how I’m going to get home in the morning with Snow-mageddon raging outside !!
Forecasts calling for 1-2 FEET of snow by the time this all stops tomorrow night. If I do somehow make it home in the morning I don’t think I stand a snowball’s chance in hell of getting back into work tomorrow night.
Prayers for everyone in this storm’s path, from New England down to Maryland !! Be careful y’all !!!
Good morning Ed….a fellow night shifter in a hospital…I imagine its quiet overnight, during what we in IL call ‘a snow-pocalypse’….BE safe in your journey home.
Am wondering if the ’emergency’ plans are in effect?
From what we’ve heard they have cancelled and rescheduled (or will reschedule) all office visits and appointments and elective surgeries for the day. All maintenance, Security, plows and shovelers are already on standby.
Besides all the snow we will get, they have forecast that winds coming off the ocean will gust upwards of 50-, 60-, and 70-miles per hour. The 70 mph winds are forecast for Cape Cod and the islands, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.
This is a serious storm. All emergency personnel are (supposedly) ready, including the utility companies. When I got to work at 7pm I read there were already some 20,000 without power in New Jersey. High tide is around 3am here and they are calling for coastal flooding.

in April of ’81 I think…Charleston had a record rainstorm…during high tide…during a full moon and something about the equinox? Maybe it was March? ….3 feet of flood waters while on my way in to work, in downtown Charleston…
…crazy me pushed thru in a ’76 Ford Mustang II…I was about 23, what did I know about driving in a flood? Just had to get to work….
The king tides happen every spring and fall.

Aggiegirl, I lived most of my life in Charleston. When I attended The College of Charleston, flooded streets were common many times during rain. It has been an ongoing issue since time began. I’m pretty sure downtown Charleston is below sea level. I don’t think the flooding will ever be fixed.
Climate change? We used to call it “wind” and “high toide”.
I am in Portsmouth NH and we work a living process that requires 365/24 on site for my group. People are put up in hotels if needed. Most of us own trucks and travel up to 40 miles each way. Being a NH native this is not my first rodeo. Winter is not done with us yet.
You don’t have “emergency plans?” I forgot, it’s Boston, and 2026. Dumb me.
I’m just planning on surviving and getting home safe. Not snowing a whole lot yet but winds are incredibly strong…15,000 without power down on Cape Cod right now. Another 10,000 without power north of Boston.
You can have all the plans you want and think you’re prepared, but Mother Nature throws more monkey wrenches and left punches than anyone can prepare for…

During hurricane protocols, they told us to pack bags and bring children and food for three days because of bridge travel and high winds here in hospitals in Southwest Floruda.
When I was stationed at Minot AFB, ND, they told us we could not leave base until the buildings across the road disappeared in the blizzard. Airmen below Staff Sergeant were required to live off base (unless in a dormitory) 30 miles away. Lots of people lost their legs.

We’ve got the fizzled outter bands of the storm which is fine with me, we had more than a foot of snow on the ground already.
We’ve got no wind at all ed, not even a breeze..
I never did find out the difference between a monkey wrench and a pipe wrench.
You keep a monkey wrench in that slender leg pocket of your overalls when you are out with the missus on Fri or Sat night.
The pipe wrench is for when she says “Harold, the kitchen sink is leaking again!”

Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough. They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it. You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.
The purpose and goals of President Trump are plainly visible by his actions and consistent: He is for the benefit first of the common PEOPLE of this country, then of the PEOPLE in the rest of the world. It is validating, even to our battered conservative skepticism.
The methods of his leadership are amazing. I still don’t get HOW he does it, or HOW he is able to get so much momentum going, but every day the momentum is growing. Everyone and every organization has their eyes opened every day — just by watching him. Even those who hate him, are biased against him, and want to see him gone — cannot ignore him. He lives rent free in their head, and they come around to seeing the universal principles by which he is operating. He hammers actions based on truth from one direction, then another, and they cannot mount an organized opposition against him.
President Trump is transparent in his words and actions. He is consistent in what he says, what he does, and what he asks/demands of others. His promises are bold and he keeps them like no other president has. He is making massive, nearly overnight changes, not only in our country, but in the world. It is amazing that he is able to accomplish so much when there are so many snakes in the grass. This term, he is weeding them out faster. No U.S. president has ever faced so much organized resistance and treason than President Trump
He has chosen to use his intellect and every skill he has to do what is right. He has tremendous faith that he can make a difference in this world. He has a confidence and courage such that he doesn’t care what others think, yet a humility to know he has to do it with the help of like minded people. Those people are the “common” people, and he ridicules those who think they are not common.
He believes people are basically good. He believes that God is real. He believes that healthy people are happy people, and they need to be able to create wealth freely for their labor, and have the freedom to spend their money on what is good for them.
He believes the United States, with its Constitutional Republic, is the best environment in the world to enable and give opportunity for people to be happy and prosperous.
He believes that we can be a light for the world, but we must demand that the rest of the world respect us and our right to life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness.
He believes the enemy of our country are the stupid, greedy American people who have been selfishly taking advantage of this country; who betrayed the trust and obedience of its people; and who diverted the people’s wealth for their own selfish gain, at the expense of the principles of this country. He’s not going to allow that anymore.
He has cultivated and focused the family of MAGA. Identifying those people whose goodness, industriousness, trust, and obedience have been taken advantage of and abused. He has opened our eyes to this abuse, and the rights of freedom and self determination that have been quietly stolen from us.
He has rekindled the healthy distrust of government and men with too much power held by our founders. He has recultivated the desire to reclaim our freedoms and rights, and is empowering us with a hope and pathway to reclaim our spiritual and economic freedom.
He wants the US to be a light of hope on the hill for all people. He will negotiate win/win agreements with those nations and countries who respect us; who respect the principles and intent of our Constitution. If you do not respect us, however, we are not going to let you take advantage of our goodness, or share in our wealth at our expense. If you as a nation are treating your people badly, you are going to be treated less favorably by us, until you show that you value your people as much as we value ours.
He is convincing those who are very wealthy (most of whom truly earned their money), that the best economic soil in which to build wealth is in a constitutional republic, which supports the ability of the common man to earn wealth in proportion to his efforts. The economic engine of the United States is the human spirit freed to enjoy the fruits of honest labor, and that engine has more natural and raw horsepower than any other governed economy.
The Trump Train seems to be remarkably aligned with universal principles of Truth, which reflect the will and design of our Creator, and are the best standard by which we should live. These same principles were what our country’s founders used to declare independence, and framed into the Constitution of this nation.
Our founders believed that a nation should preserve the right and freedom of an individual to seek, understand, and live by God’s principles. They believed that free individuals working together in humility would make a stronger nation than a government which dictates its will on the people. President Trump professes and seeks to lead and restore this nation back to these same principles.
These principles resonate deeply within all human beings, down to our DNA in every cell, in our spirits, and produce fruit that “miraculously” multiplies. Because we follow universal principles, we see the snowballing acceleration of momentum on day 35 of the 2nd year of the 2nd term of this very stable genius in the history of the kingdoms of this world in the year of our Lord 2025.

Oh Bullcocky! Read it three times, it is basically split into two sections: before Muhammad had power, where the velvet glove is highlighted, and after Muhammad had power where you see the iron fist; that method is what you are seeing first hand in the EU and to slower effect here in the US.
The Koran certainly does instruct Muslims to take over the world. To take by the sword, to offer a chance to convert to Islam, if not pay the jizya, if not kill them. Taqiyya (lying) is a sanctioned method until such time as the Muslim population is strong enough to put forward the actions in the previous sentence.

The land God gave Israel includes everything Israel currently possesses, the West Bank and Gaza, some of Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Iraq, and all of Jordan.
That is what God gave to — and promised — His children, Israel.

Mike Huckbee is correct, Israel has the Biblical right to take over what God has promised them.
But at this moment in God’s redemptive history He allows Israel only a fraction of the land He promised them. He did not take it away permanently, and He will restore the land to His chosen people one day — when the King of kings, Jesus Christ, returns in His glory.

Within hours of the Supreme Court’s decision striking down his massive IEEPA tariffs in our case challenging them, Donald Trump issued an executive proclamation invoking Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 to impose 10% global tariffs, and then upped the rate to 15%. Prominent conservative legal commentator Andrew McCarthy has an insightful National Review article explaining why these new tariffs are also illegal. McCarthy and I differ over many issues. But we agree on this one. Here’s an excerpt:
These new tariffs are even more clearly illegal than Trump’s IEEPA tariffs…..
In Section 122, Congress endowed the president with narrow, temporary authority to impose tariffs “to deal with large and serious United States balance-of-payments deficits” (emphasis added). What Trump is complaining about — something he insists is a crisis but is not — is the balance of trade, not of payments. The United States does not have an overall balance of payments deficit, much less a large and serious one.
A trade deficit between the U.S. and a foreign nation occurs, mainly in connection with goods (which is just one aspect of international commerce), when imports are greater than exports. This is not really a problem for a variety of reasons — e.g., a trade deficit results in an investment surplus, the U.S. is a major services economy and often runs exported services surpluses that mitigate the imports deficit in goods, etc.
The balance of payments is a broader concept than the balance of trade. It accounts for all the economic transactions that take place between the United States and the rest of the world. Even without getting into every kind of transaction that entails, suffice it to say that foreign investment in the United States, coupled with the advantages our nation accrues because the dollar is the world’s reserve currency, more than make up for the longstanding trade deficit in goods.
Our overall payments are in balance. There is no crisis.
It’s vital to understand why Section 122 was enacted. There was a financial crisis in the late 60s and early 70s under the Bretton Woods system, when the dollar was tied to gold. Foreign countries that held dollar reserves could exchange them for gold at a fixed rate. Meanwhile, our government was spending at a high clip due to the Vietnam War and Great Society programs. This and the obligation to pay out gold put enormous pressure on the dollar…
Now, over a half century later, these conditions no longer obtain. The dollar floats and the government does not concern itself with gold parity. The dollar is the global reserve currency, so demand for dollars by foreign nations is robust. We have strong capital inflows and our highly liquid financial markets are the envy of the world. Notwithstanding trade deficits, there is no balance of payments problem.
Nor is it necessary, as Section 122 puts it, to impose temporary tariffs in order “to prevent an imminent and significant depreciation of the dollar in foreign exchange markets[.]”
There is no rationale under Section 122 to impose tariffs. Because President Trump has no unilateral authority to order tariffs, he must meet the preconditions of Section 122 to justify levying them. He cannot. Not even close.
I agree. And I think there are additional reasons why the new Section 122 tariffs are illegal. I will have more to say about them in the coming days.

The most generous interpretation of this argument is that foreign investment in the USA will result in increased wealth for the USA. But wealth is the assets less the debits and, at the national level the debits are in the tens of trillions.

Okay. The most interesting part of this story is the apparent coordination of having high school students all over the country walking out to protest ICE.
There is NO WAY that just happened organically, all around the country about the same time with small schools in the middle of rural areas also participating.
